Lex's knees began to wobble as soon as the French came out, but he kept a calm facade. Don't break down in front of the woman that was talking about peeling back secrets, exposing layers. That's what she wanted from him - to explore his secrets. She was on her way down that avenue, too. He needed to set a roadblock, some kind of tire spikes.
A curt smile was his reply, coupled with a glance to the side. "That...doesn't sound too appetizing, Sasha." A cough in the back of his throat, a steely glance at her. "Then again, each person's palette varies."

Shut. Down.
Sasha's smile broadened, and she almost appeared to look interested in the pursuit. Her eyes brightened, shoulders straightened, and Sasha leaned forward to give him a long, steady stare.
"Non, non," that grin of hers took on a decidedly catlike curve, "vous devez préfèrent un repas facile." She tilted her head to the side, thick curtain of hair slipping along the pert curve of her jaw. "What is your appetite, then?"
Her eyes narrowed in a smile.
"Are you afraid of me? I'm simply harmless, Lex."

< Don't you know French? >
Silence - what else could he have expected. Right when Lex needed the overgrown canary, he was gone. And he probably didn't even know French because he was too proud to learn something that wasn't his mother language. a** of a Gryphon.
"My appetite," He smiled back, eyes narrowing a little as he bit his bottom lip. "Is very refined. Four stars and up, Michelin when I want something truly refined." At this point, he was almost face to face with the woman in front of him, the light scent of oaks and grapes wafting off him.
"I don't fear you, Miss Sasha. I just wonder if you're one for fine dining."

Lex blinked, mentally debated, and opened his mouth playfully. "I like sloppy joes once in a while."

That had Sasha laughing, reaching out to tap a finger against the man's broad shoulder.
"Ahh, as tempting as sloppy sounds, I'm not looking for an easy lay, Lex."
She chuckled and returned to her seat.
"I needed the distraction you provided. And - thanks for the shoulder massage. I wouldn't mind a study partner if you're interested. I've got to plan a few trips to the other side in the future, would be nice to have someone tag along?"

Lex smiled awkwardly, not all too used to being turned down. It would more than likely be a common thing, a small voice in the back of his head that was definitely not Regal, told him. The women here were battle hardened; not drunk and desperate.
For the most part, anyway.
"Ah, not a problem." The man said, voice still calm and smooth. "I had a big dinner." He added more softly, picking up his mug of coffee.
"I'll take you up on the trips, and study partner business. Always good to go in a team, and better with someone you know." He gave Sasha a soft clap on the shoulder, still smiling. "I'll see you around, Mademoiselle."
