Oh, Sasha! She'd have loved to have done that. Candace would leave out the part where she got honestly afraid he would hurt her. "If I was stupid, perhaps. Without Atropos...he'd have overpowered me easily." She sounded uncomfortable to admit this, ashamed even. She needed to find a way to fix that...but he had more muscle strength than her. Candace was quicker and more agile but he was stronger and <******** crazy. At least the mention of Rep not standing a chance against her got a grin in response. "No, he doesn't. Shield or not, I've knocked him unconscious before by accident, I'm sure it'll happen again if I'm not veeeeery careful." Chuckling, Candace turned so she was lying on her side facing Sasha, propping her head up with her hand. "Let's hope I use the caution I've lectured others to use in spars."
He told her he loved her, huh? That sounded familiar. "He told me he loved me for a little while after we broke up, too. Jerry just..." She frowned, trying to find the words. "He's not going to stay the same. He told me the other night he thinks the old him is 'dead'. Even if he tries, there's no way he'll be the same Jerry he was a year ago. He'll realize it soon, he just needs to pull himself out of this rut he's in." And from the sounds of it she'd managed to help him start climbing. A part of her would always care for and love Jerry just not in the way he had hoped when they were together. He was one of those that was special to her, that she knew she could count on in an emergency. Candace trusted Jerry and she didn't trust easily despite appearances when she interacted with others. Her eyes turned down to the sand as she drew mindless shapes into it with one of her fingers.
"Golly gee, work related? I'm shocked." Candace had to fight against the strong desire to roll her eyes at the girl, simply wiping away whatever she'd been drawing and starting again. "Can't hurt, no. I'm sure it won't be terribly long before you're promoted, being proactive gets you noticed..and you seem to be doing very well at that."
You did that too, but it wasn't always good attention. Candace scowled.
Hush.
"Just keep doing what you're doing. You'll do well and go far, I think."

"He's not right for me. I told him. If the old him is dead, it's for the better." Sasha shrugged and reached up to rub at her shoulder, the thick ridges of her scar an odd comfort against her fingers. She was tired of talking about Jerry, tired of discussing his wibbles and woobles. Her thoughts turned to Wash, and a positively feline smile once more graced her lips.
"Mm, work related. Top secret." Not your business. She couldn't help but wonder why Candace was so nosy. Sasha narrowed her eyes briefly, watching the other woman trace figures in the sand. She was a curious creature. Sasha let out a low hum and pushed off the sand, rising to her knees.
"I have plans for the evening. I should get back."

Top secret. Like this place really had secrets. Candace shrugged. "If you need assistance let me know, I'll see what I can do." Sasha's movement got her to look up and watch her, cupping her chin in the palm of her hand. She drummed her fingers along her cheek.
"Mm, sure. No problem. Be careful though, okay? I'm not saying this because I underestimate you, just it's very easy to get in over your head if you don't pay attention. Take care of yourself." Candace rolled onto her hands and knees, grabbed her scarf and rose to her feet. Her heels sank into the sand and she sighed, adjusting her footing so she didn't strain her ankle trying not to fall over. She stretched her arms high above her head a moment, relaxed and then checked the time on her phone. "I should head back anyway. Things to take care of..." She glanced Sasha's way again, taking in what she was seeing again. She really had changed more than just her attitude. It was almost as if a new wardrobe and a haircut had aged the girl to look more like a woman and not a frumpy girl who wore grandma dresses. Candace gave her a genuine smile. "I liked this talk. I'll see you around, songbir--...Sasha."
With a little wave Candace tip toed through the sand to avoid sinking into it, still in as pleasant spirits as ever.
