"It's not really what I wanted to hear." he grunted "I was trying to be nice, I wasn't expecting to have means of murder listed off like you'd thought about it in detail. Even if you had. I mean you say you'd never do that but I dunno how much I can trust that." Ofie had always given Rep the impression of someone absolutely unstable, naive as to how mad she came across a lot of the time. He was okay with it, most of the Suns were batshit insane in one way or another, but you had to look out for yourself. Just like he wouldn't push Jerry too far again, he likewise was leery of placing too much trust in Ofie to be entirely sane one hundred percent of the time.

"And the more you say you wouldn't, the more worried I get."

"Well hell Rep, Ah dunno what else ta talk wit'cha 'bout." Ofelia gave off a pretty exasperated sigh, unsure of just what to say or do. Every time she tried to be nice to Rep, every single time, all she did was seem to drive a massive wedge between them. Her slip of the tongue had cost her dearly here, she was now well aware of it, and part of her just wanted to swear off cooking altogether. It was a sad thing to admit that she was immature enough to pout over someone else's words and would punish herself over it.

"Ah know practically nothin' 'bout'cha 'cept that yer datin' Jordan an' Harrison, seem ta like hot chocolate. When ya make conversation Ah jus' try an' answer back, thinkin' it's sommin' yer interested in, an' it turns out Ah'm jus' stabbin' mahself in the throat." She wanted to raise a hand and place it on her face, to cover her eye as her usual method of self-protection had her doing, but with both arms in a sling she couldn't even attempt to wriggle herself free. If that was the case she couldn't really get up either, not without having to kick herself up first.

This sucked.

"There's not much to know about me." he said with a grimness. "I mean other than the very succinct summary of me you have there." If all people thought about him was that he was some kind of supergay who liked hot chocolate he was in a lot of ******** trouble. "I'm mostly interested in computer s**t. None of which I get to do any longer here. That and fighting, which is kind of obvious, looking at me."

He raised a brow at her, derailing his train of thought to comment in an aside. "You always seem like, really ******** down on yourself. Why?"

PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:59 pm

"Computer stuff? Like what, an' how come comin' here stopped ya? Dun we got computers in the life an' death labs?" Now that was something Ofelia hadn't heard and to be honest, she rather liked that he was willing to tell her about it. She sort of had to chuckle at the fighting bit, wriggling her arms up to say me too, and for the briefest of moments she felt like it was okay.

And then he asked her why she hated herself, or always talked down to herself. Him too, why did everyone want to know? "Oh, Ah jus'...call it like Ah see it. Ah'm not stupid, Ah know where Ah stand wit' people." She knew all too well, and Melvin was. . . sadly helping her come more to terms with it. It wasn't anything she liked, but still she managed to keep a shaky grin on her face.

"Also, Ah dunno what succinct means, ahahahaha."

"Aye we have computers but like you say. They are in the life and death labs. I'm no either of those things, so they are no good to me. And I can't afford a laptop. So nope, nothing for me to do in terms of that any more. It's shut off to me." No he wasn't bitter about it, nope. Not at all. <******** Life.

As Ofie stated that she wasn't stupid, Rep had to fight the urge to scoff. She wasn't stupid in many ways, but as far as he was concerned, she had displayed a lot of not so perceptive comments in terms of her place with other people. "Where do you stand with people then? I'm interested." And there was nothing better to do in this bed.

PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2012 4:03 pm

"Depends on the person in question. In regards ta yer placin'a me, Ah'm a Sun so Ah probably am not entirely useless - but Ah'm also a woman so therefore Ah'm completely worthless." Ofelia motioned with her sling arm in a rather generic gesture. "As fer the others, Ah've kinda. . . gotta stop lumpin' 'em all tagether."

She knew how she felt about everyone else since she liked them all and wanted to be with them, but it was only the ones who reacted strongly back to her that she had anything to say. A few people she knew didn't look at her weirdly, like there was something wrong, so maybe that meant they liked her?

Emotions were confusing and hard.

"Anyway, back ta computers, sorry ta hear ya can' get yer hands on one here." She said, and then paused. "Have ya thought 'bout offerin' a trade ta one'a the techs in return fer one, a laptop that is? Most'a 'em are willin' ta give stuff in return fer things, this Ah've found." Ofelia often used cooking to get things from people, something Melvin had once suggested to her.

Rep nodded sagely at Ofie's summary. It sounded about right. Sun, so useful, female so ultimately without worth. He liked the sun part of her more than the female, though looking at the amount she got injured of late, he wasn't sure she was doing the sun part with much success - then again no one was right now without weapons. "Aye, that's as may be. I guess its just a matter of outweighing the woman thing with the sun bit."

He let her redirect the discussion back to the computer vein without protest. "Naw. Nothing at all that I could offer the techs would ever be enough, quite a few of the guys up there don't like me and would use it as a sweet opportunity to like, get back at me. They are all ******** vigilantes and I won't give them the chance."

He rolled his eyes "And obviously they'd help a woman out, they are sniffing after sex no doubt. Guys never do s**t for a woman without a darker reason behind it. They get bored when you don't put out."

PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2012 4:46 pm

Ofelia was starting to learn that guys and girls couldn't get along without someone wanting sex, though she didn't really have it in her to tell Rep that the guys she brought food for were usually the type she walked in on with, well, other guys. There were a few more at Deus than she'd thought, not that she cared because their relationships weren't hers, so it was easy to move along.

"Well then, what if Ah use mah womanly charms or whatever ya say an' get one fer ya? That way ya can trade sommin' wit' me an' yer sure ta get a laptop in return." She asked, raising an eyebrow. "It wouldn' be ya gettin' it as a gift, it'd be a fair trade, so there's that." Ofelia sure as hell wasn't going to ******** someone for one, she didn't see anyone on the island remotely worth it (or so she felt at the time) but there were plenty of other ways to get what she wanted. Like eventual force, or the fact she had money stored up from stuff still. Money could work on Mark, maybe (she'd heard rumors that he liked money best) and then for everything else there was food or something.

In all honesty Ofelia totally expect Rep to call bullshit and refuse because well, it was a woman's idea and as if he'd take anything from her. Jerk.

Rep, on the other hand had very very strong and very clear feelings about stuff.

Feelings that it should all belong to him.

"If through whatever and any ******** means you used, you managed to get a runic laptop for me, I would owe you a ********. I don't even think I have anything worth trading for that. Those things cost about a grand and a half to buy from the labs last I checked, that's a lot of wages or a lot of bribery."

He shrugged and immediately regretted it again as his shoulders felt like they'd been re-impaled by Sasha's hooks. "Long story short, you get me a laptop, I owe you."

Ofelia was glad she happened to be trying to rub her nose on her shoulder, seeing as her nose itched and she couldn't get to it with her hands, or else Rep would have seen the monster-like grin that had spread over her lips. She'd managed to snag him, managed to get him to say a few words that she never though would come from his lips, and she finished getting rid of the itch before turning to look back at him. "Well, okay then."

It was a challenge accepted, one she wasn't going to lay down and back out of, and the teen started running a list of money units down in her mind. She had the five hundred cold from the golem incident, not to mention pay (if they were still getting any) and there were plenty of people she could easily try and get things from. As long as her body wasn't going to be sold in a sexual way then well, Ofelia was all for it.

Or maybe she could sell pictures of her boobs, she didn't really know. Something had to make money quickly, right?

"What's yer favorite color, an' . . . ahaha, well that was almost stupid'a me. Ah was gonna ask what yer favorite kind'a cookie was." Rep had said he'd never eat any of her food again and she wasn't going to press it there. It stung, badly. "Maybe Ah can get some from one'a the other guys who visit the kitchen, see if they can bring it ta ya here. No one needs ta survive on the crap they try an' pass as food."

Rep assumed that he'd managed to deter her from the idea of the laptop with his reminders of just how expensive they really were, and didn't press the issue further. It was something he wanted and wanted badly, but he wasn't prepared to give away just how much by going on and on about it.

"My favourite colour is purple. Dark. Purple. Not that purple that's all light and pink and s**t." Pink wasn't a colour he could pull off to any extent. Nor was purple for that matter but he could dream about it. Maybe one day, if he ever dyed his hair again and got a jacket that hid his tattoos he could pull off something purple and badass. His purple tracksuit had been an old favourite.

"I'm not picky with cookies. As long as it has ******** tons of sugar in it and no fruit, I'm good. Not eating right now anyway."

PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2012 5:29 pm

"Purple? Really?" Ofelia blinked and asked, a little taken back with surprise. It was entirely in a good way though, as evident by the look of delight on her face, and she grinned from ear to ear as that information was stored. "That's really cool! The color'a royalty is purple, right?" Last she could recall it was. "Mine's. . .jus' plain brown. Well, all shades'a brown are nice, s'kinda why Ah was happy ta get a brown scarf here. "

As Rep listed cookies he didn't like - those that were sugary and had no fruit, she was able to remember him eating at the bake-off between her and Before. None of those had seen him turn his nose up so that would be a good place to start. "Never hurts ta get 'em sent here fer when ya do wanna eat 'em." She didn't mention her own tastes, she wanted it to stay focused on him. Saying her favorite color was enough, they had something to talk on now, but just how much could she use this knowledge? Entire conversations couldn't really be built in the future based on knowing purple and sugar cookies.

It was always a start though, and she wondered if maybe she could get one more thing out of him. If he got hostile she'd leave and go on her way to getting cookies sent to him as well as looking into a laptop, but it never...hurt. "Do ya...know how ta swim?"

Rep narrowed his eyes slightly at the blink, back home he'd gotten similar responses, purple a little too fruity for some people's tastes. He'd started to lie and say he liked red after a while just to avoid the strange looks he'd gotten as if he wasn't quite right somehow. "Aye, it's the colour of royalty." Amongst other things anyway. "Brown is practical. It's good camouflage in places." He hadn't expected it to be Ofie's favourite, she seemed like she'd favour brighter louder colours, it was an interesting insight into her character.

Or maybe not. Maybe he was thinking way too ******** much.

"Maybe motivation to get better and eat them."

At the question about him knowing how to swim, Rep had to smile. "Well you could say that. Its like, the thing I do most of all on this heap of junk, the ocean's usually warm enough to swim in, so I do it all the time."

PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:26 pm

"Do....do ya think maybe sometime when we're both not holed up in here like cripples ya might show me a few things?" She inwardly flinched as she asked, knowing this probably wouldn't go over well. Rep already showed he was somewhat okay with her by saying the color she liked was good and practical, and even agreeing about cookies and her comment about the color purple, so maybe she was pushing her luck too much. "Ah mean, ya dun have ta teach me how ta swim 'cause yer busy an' stuff but maybe showin' a few ways ta go 'bout doin' it? Ah dunno how ta swim an' if we ever go on missions involvin' water or havin' ta swim Ah'd be...well, up a creek." There was a pause, then another, and finally she spoke. "Ah'd hate ta shame the Suns by bein' unable ta do mah duty."

There, maybe...that one phrase might make him slightly more agreeable she didn't know. Either way she could pride herself on knowing he liked cookies, the color purple, and thought brown was practical.

Rep frowned slightly, not looking entirely keen on the idea of giving out swimming lessons. He wasn't exactly the teaching type, he'd probably just throw Ofie into the ocean and let her figure it out from there, and then have a drowning on his hands. He wasn't cut out for tuition. "Er. I wouldn't like take responsibility for your well being and s**t. I mean.."

He trailed off, she was probably right, on missions they could have to deal with any kind of terrain, water included. Teaching Ofie to swim now could save having to fish Ofie out of peril most dire later on. "Well. I could show you how I do it maybe. I dunno. Depends if you are a fast learner, I'm not a good teacher."
