Whether word was spread or Before himself had just noticed (one explanation was as likely as the other), the Mist trainee appeared bearing a tray of fudge brownies. Before didn't do well with liquor or alcohol and wasn't about to test his limits. He didn't exactly have a voice of reason to remind him that what he was doing was a bad idea so he decided not to chance it at all.
So what if it meant being around people who killed Bix and then turned right around to defend the other one? Tori had snapped some sense into him into moving on as well as taking in the factor of Insanity. It hadn't been that strong in Before at the time but he figured, albeit begrudgingly, that it must have been off the charts for some of the others.
"A-ah, hello, um, I have brought some treats. Non-alcoholic though," he greeted Melvin. Then teal eyes spotted the girl in a costume, "Neat thread," he chirped, giving the girl a crooked smile and a thumb's up.

Rin gave Melvin a careful pat, not sure what was up with him until the next comment burbled forth and from this proximity... the stench of booze slapping her across the face - that explained everything.
"Are you drunk?" She asked rather matter-of-factly before fudge brownies suddenly averted her gaze elsewhere...

"Troll. But, demon is close enough! I'll take what I can get." Smiling she went around to Rin, eying her bag of tricks or rather treats. "Aw s**t, that is super nice! I have some candy corn that I actually need to hand out now that I.. think about that..." A slow blush as she realized she'd kind of forgotten to actually do that. "I can donate some if you're going around! I was just going to go door to door and offer it rather than wander... but that's mostly because I think us trainees that are off duty. All the hunters seems busy!" Not like it was halloween or anything. As Drunk, (was he drunk?) Melvin hugged Rin and said things, Solia blinked. Stared. And.... Shipped.Rin and Melvin were a thing? She hadn't any clue but hey, they could make a def cute couple. Before's arrival, a gifts of brownies did get more a reaction then looks however- it got a squeal of happiness. "OH MY GOSH BROWNIES I- Wait." She stopped herslef. She knew how things worked at parties. She read the party blogs. "Special or regular?"

Melvin leaned back, narrowing his gaze at her. "No." He said, as if offended she would even THINK he was drunk. He was still holding her. OnO Allan was soft.
Rin might have noticed the open bottle of whiskey and mug Melvin had before him, along with an unopened bottle of Rock-Gut Vodka he hadn't gotten to yet.
So yeah. He might have been a wee bit drunk.

Rin caaaaasually pointed a clawed finger at the mug, "Then what's that?"
He was still hugging her though.
Was this normal?
What was generally appropriate?
Should she stop him or would that be rude?
Plenty of questions and no answers. So she stayed put and made no move to pry him off yet, not until she was certain of at least half of her uncertainties.

"This?" Melvin looked to his mug and released Allan, returning to unscrew the top to HIS whiskey and lean back. "Just a mug." He told the giant Alien, pouring himself some before screwing the cap back on and lifting the glass in a silent cheers before taking a sip.

Good, the pressure was off her again as Melvin finally released her. Still, he was definitely drinky drinky and quite difficult to understand when not... well... sober.
She tilted her masked head to the side curiously as a thought suddenly crossed her mind, "You know who I am, right?" Surely he wouldn't have hugged her like that if he knew (and especially not the comment about sleeping together)- even stone cold drunk.

The Misty's eyes darted from the tray then to the costumed Hunter then back, "Uh... iunno, is double-fudge brownies regular or special to you?" he asked with a tilt of his head, clearly not knowing what she meant but opting to give her the opportunity to enlighten him. "It's not sugar-free or low-fat though, iffin' that's what you're asking? Kinda hard to make those on a limited pantry. Had to dig into my own stash to make these," he explained further.

Reaching over, he spread the candy about trying to find something not so sickening sweet to eat. What he wouldn't give for some fireball candies. He missed them this time of year. He remembered he could go and get a big bag of them and then wait after Halloween to buy the rest. They weren't popular like Reeses or Snickers which meant he could have a nice container of them for a while.
"I want fireball candies." He grumbled, looking to his pile in disappointment. He then looked at Allan and his bag and then leaned over to look inside his bag.

Realizing Melvin wasn't going to coherently answer, Rin wandered over to reach around people and attempt to snatch a pair of brownies with a quick, "Thank you!" before retreating back to Melvin's side.
"In the future you may want to put in requests for the vending machines?" He peered into her bag again, "Sorry, it's the same it was last time you looked. I might have a cinnamon mouthwash or two though?" She offered him the whole bag to pick through to free her other hand so she could lift the head of her costume up, finally revealing herself to take a bite of brownie.

Melvin set the bag aside, not wanting cinnamon toothpaste. He wanted cinnamon candy. Anything that wasn't overly sweet. What was even more depressing than his dead end in the candy department was to look up and see Allan's head come off.
His face dropped, but as he saw Rin, he looked at her head, then at the body, and his brain had to take a long time to process that Allan had not eaten her. It...was taking a moment though as he was trying to put aside Allan eating Rin's head to just Rin in a costume.

Rin polished off her pilfered brownie and gave Melvin a baffled stare, "The heck is wrong with you? You're giving me a look like the skin just melted off my face." Just to be safe she checked with her hands really quick before wiping the crumbs from her mouth.

Brownies.
Before would find one missing, and an Otto ont eh counter devouring the remains of a maybe-brownie.
For a while he sat silent, watching the goings ons. Borrring. Parties were boring. Too much socializing. It made Otto uncomfortable. Unable to relax, not like he did much of that anyway. The teen sighed with a huff, looking over at the booze Melvin had left open.
A thoughtful hum.
. . .
Otto now had a tall glass of vodka and soda. He felt a little warm and fuzzy all of the sudden.

Melvin slowly rose from his seat, reach over, and pulled off Rin's costume head and then looked at it. Then she looked to Rin, then the head, and put 2 and 2 together. "Oh." He sounded disappointed.
