Melvin didn't have to be a genius to figure out something was up the moment Sasha entered the room. He knew the girl only from the time he had to deliver a rose form her, and hoped she didn't make any connections between the rose and him. If anything, he was a blur of unimportant people in her mind, but he had given her his name and he doubted that she got many knocks on her door. Not when she kept slamming them in people's faces.

Rep didn't seem all that happy to see her, scooting to sit straight, and he was confused why this woman commanded him to become this alert. Rep hated women, even Sasha confirmed this as she moved around, yet Rep had his devoted attention focused on her. He even lied about his condition to her.

Something was strange here.

He decided to just go with it for now. "You didn't seem to like men all that much when I visited. Hello, Sasha." He said, giving a simple smile in greeting. There was an awkward air around that was bothering him.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2012 7:21 pm

"Melvin," Sasha very nearly purred as she lifted a hand to finger-walk up Rep's shin, barely ghosting over his leg. "I do like men, Melvin. However, I find boys very lacking."

It wasn't clear if she was insulting him or not - he could take it as he liked for all she cared. Sasha wasn't here to make friends. She was here to make Rep's life as miserable as she could.

"Rep, Rep." Her slender fingers tapped against his knee. "Your face is simply a mess. What on earth happened?"

Cue a slow, reptilian smile.

"You've been a lot worse, hmm?" Her hand lifted to toy with Nona's curled form, warmed from Sasha's skin. The silver chain the barrette dangled from chimed softly. "It's just terrible, don't you think, Melvin? That someone could do such a thing to a poor, defenseless, weaponless hunter."

She liked the way the nail-shaped marks on his jaw looked. Sasha didn't bite back the feral, brutish smile that curved her lips.

All of Rep's senses were hauled to their highest alert, it was his absolute worst nightmare, trapped with Sasha and at the same time with one of the hunters who could see right through him so much of the time and liked to ask the most compromising sort of questions. He was dancing in a ******** minefield and just waiting for something to blow his damn leg off.

The touch was absolute torture. He wished he was wearing seven layers of clothing rather than nothing but the flimsy sheet. He almost forgot to breathe, so overcome with absolute disgust at her daring to invade his space, to so callously go against the most fundamental line he drew with everyone. His blue eyes blazed with sheer venomous loathing, his grin a mask, easy, arrogant and friendly while his insides weighed down with hate.

"The scar on my nose? A fight with an old friend. Long before this shitty island." he said, with a charming sort of smile, feigning ignorance. It was another gesture of defiance. Let her know the injuries she'd given him were of no consequence, not even worth mentioning.

"But aye, I've been a lot worse than this." he scoffed, swallowing back the urge to wheeze as the motion made his ribs cry out in pain. "Had worse barfights and I was weaponless then too. They took me on fairly."

It was agony to seem this indifferent when inside he was screaming over and over again for her to stop ******** touching him. He could control the revulsion, but he couldn't control the goosebumps that bristled all over his visible skin.

He rarely had his name purred, especially to someone who didn't know him, and it grated against him. Just as Melvin was straight forward with Rep most of the time, he wasn't about to act differently around Sasha. The girl was a stranger for the most part to him, having something against men (okay, BOYS if she wants to play that), and was now here out of the blue just smiling away. She wasn't exactly being subtle over seeing Rep injured, smiling as she played with his sheets.

Standing, he went to grab and chair and set it there. "You can sit instead of touching him." He told her before taking his seat. If she knew Rep didn't like women, then she knew he wouldn't want to be touched by one.

He didn't know what she was playing at until she started all that smiling and stating the obvious, and then turning to Melvin as if she wanted him to act stupid with this weird game. No, it didn't take a lot of brain power to get what was going on between these two.

"You attacked him?" Melvin asked Sasha, looking at her. He didn't think for a minute that she was just a concerned friend.

The very instant that his skin pebbled, Sasha's eyes flared briefly and an unholy, hellish smile contorted her lips. She blatantly ignored the chair, instead hoisting herself alongside Rep on the bed. Her thigh pressed against his torso, her hip aligned with his. The meat of her hand still bore the bruise his teeth had caused, but despite that Sasha lifted her it - perhaps even taking the slightest bit of joy in seeing that bruise on her own skin, bearing it as if it were some sort of trophy - before brushing her fingers with deceptive gentleness against the bandages at his shoulder that peeked from the gown he wore.

"Why would you say that, Melvin? I'm just a small, weak, unremarkable woman."

The way she bared her teeth could hardly be considered a smile. It was more wolfish than anything, and it was obvious that she was taking utter pleasure in seeing Rep's minuscule reactions to her proximity. The goosebumps had ignited her, and there was nothing he could do to stop her.

"Fairly?"

Her thoughts went to the knife in her jacket pocket, and her smile broadened terribly.

There was a brief and glimmering moment when it seemed like maybe, just maybe, having Melvin there had been a fantastic stroke of luck. A chair was exactly what was needed in the moment, a chair to get her away from him, a chair to stop his pulse racing as his skin sought to escape even the most fleeting contact. She was toxic, she was despicable and he wanted her gone. "Maybe you should -" he began before cutting his own suggestion off half way, ******** stupid, you didn't ask her to do what you wanted, that let her know that you wanted it. He couldn't let her know how much she was getting to him, but it was tough and these ******** painkillers were clouding his judgement.

The disgust spiked to almost uncontrollable levels as she sat on the bed, positioned alongside him. There was pain, a lot of it, her weight, relatively slight as it was, enough to make very tender and specific injuries white hot agony. But the pain wasn't even the half of it, her that close, so awfully, intolerably close, cracked his facade, he couldn't keep back the snarl of repulsion, rough and hateful as she humiliated him with her proximity.Terrible. She was a ******** terrible loathsome ******** awful woman and he hated her more than he had ever hated anything. He was like a feral cat, chained and forced to tolerate being petted like a housecat but always with the promise that one day he would rip that hand off.

Melvin was no longer classed under good idea as he - direct as always - asked if she had been the one to attack him. It left him at a loss in response, deny her and sound like a coward, unwilling to take being defeated by a woman, or say it was her and let her hear it.

He would give her the satisfaction of neither.

"You are." he said, seizing back control, donning the mask of easy indifference again, a mask that never reached his eyes. "Unremarkable, I mean. Positively ******** run of the mill."

He flicked his gaze over her as if looking over a piece of cheap meat, his breathing shallow and frought with shivers of pain and disgust he could no longer strangle into submission.

Get off Get off Get off Get off

"And aye. Fairly. Of course, you wouldn't know what that word meant."

Sasha was beyond creepy, but the fact that she just kept playing ignorant was beyond annoying. She was playing that he had no idea, and what then? Did she expect Melvin was too stupid to notice she was lying, or that he would just let it go. He was neither of these things, and her pretending only aggravated him more and more. It was one thing for Rep to lie to him to hold face, but Rep had up to this point been helping him. Any lies he gave were harmless ones. Sasha however was moving on Rep's bed when he didn't like women, and was now touching him.

"No woman smiling like you do considers herself small, weak, and unremarkable. I may be rather new to this island, but I wasn't born yesterday, and your not the first girl that I've ever met, Sasha." He would poke back at her boy comment if she wanted to play that way with him.

"I say that because no one has said how Rep was hurt, and you come here in a instant and poke that someone attacked him. You also know he hates women, and yet you are petting him. A concerned friend wouldn't be touching them all over and instead would worry about touching anything that is bandaged." To which Melvin gestured to how she was touching his wounds.

He looked to Rep, wondering what he was getting out of not lashing out at her. He never showed restrained when fighting other guys for even talking to his boyfriends, and here he was just putting up with Sasha. There was something going on, but at the moment his concerns weren't focused on Rep. Sasha was insulting his intelligence and he didn't take kindly to that.

PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2012 8:48 pm

Rep's shivers were the sweetest ambrosia, and each and every sound and nuance that his body gave was slowly savored.

"Melvin, you're smart. You seem to be very observant. You're also in my division," all of this was said without looking at Melvin, though she seemed to take great, great pleasure in his first comment. No, Sasha was anything but small, weak and unremarkable. "And you obviously know what kind of man," her smile grew even broader, "our friend Rep is, hmm?"

She let out a soft hum, glancing over her shoulder briefly at Melvin before turning back to Rep. She instantly pressed closer to him, even going so far as to drag her palm down his chest before leaning in, teeth bared and glistening. Predatory.

"Pretty run of the mill? And I wouldn't know what the word meant?"

Sasha wanted to be all over him. She wanted him to suffocate on her nearness, to drown in the knowledge that even now, she could end his life - and there was nothing he could do. His only defense now were those teeth of his, and Sasha had no sense of self preservation at this point. She lifted her hand and brushed the backs of her fingers against his bruised jaw.

"I'm a little surprised that Rep hasn't told you exactly what happened, Melvin," Sasha whispered thickly. Creepy? Yes, Sasha had it in spades - and she could not care less about what Melvin thought of her. In truth, this was more satisfying than watching Rep writhe in pain. "Then again, I'm really not."

She rested her fingers along Rep's jaw, a deceptive gentleness about her.

Rep was somewhere absolutely unknown to him, a dark and calculating place where it felt like every inch of his continued dignity rested on keeping his claws on control.

As Melvin spoke up in his defence, or at least what he perceived as an attempt at defending him, there was an absolute spark of fury. His help was a hindrance, he didn't want someone reminding her how successful she was being in hitting his raw points, reminding her how she wasn't a concerned friend. Oh he knew, he knew that pretty ******** well, she was much worse, she was a concerned enemy.

As she dubbed him a man, he didn't take it as any sort of compliment, just a reminder of how impotent he was, trapped here in this bed, human and weaponless. He'd ******** show her how much of a man he was when he was on his feet again, when he had Tracey at his disposal once more. He would forge that word literal in her flesh.

In the instant Sasha looked back at Melvin, he too sought to catch the other man's gaze, but rather than gratitude or any sort of agreement with his words, there was a sharp cold sort of dislike and resentment. He was another enemy in the room, another danger to him. Subtly he shook his head. You aren't helping me. He didn't need his help, didn't want his help, Sasha was to be his to destroy, if it meant tolerating this indignity, so ******** be it.

His breath hitched as her palm trailed his chest, too bare, much too bare. He wished his disgust could sear her flesh from her bones, incinerate her in loathing. The tension in his body made the stitches etch white hot pain across his shoulders, cutting back even the minimal mending that had been attained. His voice was a raw and restrained snarl, kept in check only by his injuries. "Average. Unimpressive."

Something inside him was screaming, but it was as if it always had been.

"What happened Melvin." he added, matter of factly, while never, not even for an instant taking his eyes off of her. "Was a cheap b***h thought she could break me. I've just...not been telling people because its hardly interesting enough for well, even the most ******** tedious conversation."

Melvin tensed when Rep glared at him, slowly telling him to back the hell off. There was something going on here, and while Sasha had been pulling him in, Rep wanted him out. Considering he thought Sasha was creepy as hell, and felt his own skin crawl when the woman was close to straddling Rep, he decided to side with the red-head on this one and let him have what little freedoms he could get. If it got too far, there were plenty of doctors around to break it out. There were too many witnesses for things to go too far.

At Rep's confession, Melvin listened but didn't address it. Rep hadn't wanted to say it, and Melvin had wanted to push on Sasha to stop playing her game than actually finding the answer. It was more of taking a stance against her for thinking he was done, but now that she just said he was observant, even if she didn't believe it, he felt he made his point enough as far as he wanted to waste energy on it.

"You're right." He told Rep. "It's not interesting. And like you said, you'll barely be here a few days." He watched Sasha, raising a eyebrow.

"Sasha, could you straddle Rep later?" Her being nearly on top of him was just disturbing on too many levels.

Sasha let out a loud, raspy laugh, slipping off the bed before briefly reaching into her pocket. There was a dull, silvery flash before her arm lifted - and it was suddenly very, chillingly clear what the Life trainee held in her hand.

A knife. Nine razor sharp inches of deadly, deadly precision.

With a downward slice, Sasha wordlessly brought the knife down. It sank comfortably into the bed a mere half-an-inch from Rep's hip, deep into the thin mattress that he rested on. Her eyes never left his - had she missed, or had she hit her target dead on? It was impossible to say. Impossible to say.

"That's so odd, Rep, because I don't remember it like that. I remember it differently. I remember you cornering this cheap b***h because you thought her weaponless. I remember you shanking," Sasha gave the handle of the knife a twist before leaning in, her breath undoubtedly hot against Rep's lips - so close, she was, that she could almost taste his red hot, electric hate, "that very same b***h."

She smiled, a slow, sickening gesture for his eyes alone.

"And then, what happened next?"

Sasha purred and withdrew the knife from the mattress, promptly driving it into his pillow as she leaned over him.

"That b***h broke you. Do you remember? Why, I think you might've even pissed yourself."

Flashing Rep one last smile, Sasha pulled away. The knife remained where it was, hilt-deep in the pillow, as Sasha took a step back.

And laughed and laughed and laughed, walking past Melvin as she took her leave, wiggling her fingers at the other Life trainee as she exited the room.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:59 pm

The knife startled him. Well, startled didn't do it justice, there was a brief horrific instant where his life flashed before his eyes, every loathsome second of it. He'd never plead, he'd never give her the satisfaction of it. But in the silent seconds after the knife fell, his eyes were wide, adrenaline begging to differ with his grim indifference to death.

He met her gaze, nothing between them but absolute loathing, chest rising and falling erratically, panic and pain twining together till he couldn't separate one from the other. He flinched. slightly at the twist of the knife but found himself close to her, so close he could feel her words, feel the very breath of the life he wanted to wring right out of her. He almost kissed her, almost kissed her to try and lure her in, lure her in and bite out her ******** hateful tongue. He would never die while she was alive, he'd drag himself out of his grave and chase her to the ends of the earth.

She left and he let her. It wasn't like he could stop her. "That... wasn't how I ******** remember it." he snarled, slumping back on the pillows, slick with sweat from the efforts of playing a healthy man when his body could not.

"M..Melv. I'd be like...I'd be really ******** grateful if you could stay out of this." With a cringe of pain he reached a trembling hand up to the knife handle embedded in the pillow, too hard for him to pull it out.

"And help me hide this."

Melvin rose up the moment he saw the knife, his chair flying back as he looked at her. Oh hell, he was going to have to talk some psycho woman off the edge before she killed Rep and probably slashed her own throat in some wild idea of finishing things. He didn't talk people off the edge and couldn't even begin to think of anything he could say to keep a girl like THAT from just doing what she wanted. Right now, he was trying to decide if he could make it to the emergency button beside Rep without getting stabbed or if he should just not make any sudden movements.

It was with luck and relief that Sasha got off (no pun intended), and left with all the wild laughing synonymous with deep, mental issues.

Watching her go, he looked back as Rep fell back on the bed and then offered him the knife.

"What.. What the hell was THAT all about? Why didn't you sound the alarm and get that psycho restrained? She almost made your face her personal Jack-o-Lantern." Melvin didn't associate himself with lunatics that seeing Sasha's display and then the knife left him a bit frazzled.

"Stairs, huh? Stairs." He looked to the door, looked back at Rep, then looked at the knife. Well, if Rep wanted to know what Melvin looked like when he wasn't cool and collective, he had it now. "Before I do anything with that.." He pointed to the knife. "You tell me why she tried to kill you and why you tried to stab her. Just...what the hell is going on?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 30, 2012 9:57 am

For once the roles were reversed as Rep gave the decidedly worked up Melvin a very weary sort of look. With Sasha out of the picture he was no longer as wary of showing any kind of vulnerability, and ******** hell he felt vulnerable, still able to feel her abhorrent contact on his skin. Melvin wasn't going to hone in on his weaknesses and rip them out, he reassured himself, and figured he probably couldn't slide much lower in the other guy's estimation either. He took a few moment to just let his heart rate wind down, to get his breathing back in check, every inhalation a stab like a knife in his chest. He at least owed the guy an explanation, and started with the most important part.

"I didn't press the alarm because this can't leave this room. If it gets out, it's not going to be her who gets the chop. I'm on my last warning after a massive chain of ******** and all this s**t is tied up to a fight I started. You breathe one ******** word to people about what you saw and learned here and you are tying the noose around my neck and kicking the chair out from under me. I can handle her, I had that totally under control." He hadn't really, it had been chaotic, a mad scramble to see who could attain and maintain the upper hand the longest. But he'd come out of it alive and intact - or at least no worse than when he started.

"Stairs kept people out of it. You think I like the idea of being ******** kicked around by some b***h?" he curled his lip in disgust. "But if you need to know, it started with a flute. Well no, a cup of tea. She used to be this little ******** shrinking violet, kissing up to H and s**t. I kicked a cup of tea or whatever out of her hands, she put laxatives in my hot chocolate, I stole her precious ******** flute and traumatised her boyfriend. Then she went off the ******** rails and nearly murdered me, wouldn't let me have runic clearance when I had no weapon either." Despite the dire implications of this he smirked. "So I hear we don't have weapons, I assume she didn't have hers. I was ...going to teach her a lesson with that." he nodded at the knife.

He sighed quiet and shallow, with a look of sheer irritation. "She still had her ******** weapon."

Melvin listened, hearing how something simple had escalated so quickly out of control, and the current situation Rep had put himself him. He wasn't about to just think Rep was the victim here. Sasha was a creepy psycho, but Rep had poked the wrong bee hive this time. One that didn't care if she died probably, not with how she brought a knife to him, yet seemed to play enough of a game to cover her own a**. Rep didn't see sly enough to do that, however he did know what he had to do before he was found out and killed.

There was just one thing wrong with the way he was going about it.

"You have all these strikes and you thought stabbing her with a knife wouldn't get you killed or tossed out? She's playing a game to get you kicked off the island, and probably knows she doesn't have as many marks against her as you do. How is avoiding death by trying to kill someone going to work, Rep? They would find out that pretty quick around here. We don't have portals and there is a small list of suspects here. I'm sure there are a few cameras around that would eventually pick that up." Then again, were there cameras in here? He had to assume not if Sasha was smart enough to come in here with such confidence and banishing a knife.

"If I wasn't here, she might have been off her rocker enough to stab you. Then what? She'd know you'd just explain it off to keep this crazy game going. What happened when we get on another mission? She could just pretend some creature killed you." He wanted to report her, but Rep was being up front and was stuck. The fact he looked pale as hell wasn't helping.

Sighing, he reached out to take the knife, his hands awkwardly picking it up and showing he wasn't really familiar with how to hold one. "Are you going to try and stab her again? Kill her?" He looked up at him, unnerved that Rep would even go that far. That he could kill someone - a person.

What kind of ******** island am I on?
