Punk blinked. "Can't say I was expecting that. Never met him in person, but from what I've heard, Ruin doesn't sound like the family type." He nodded to Sauron's question. "Yeah... picked her up in neutral territory. Her herd was more or less leaving her for dead and she took a bit of a shining to me, so I brought her back with me." He shrugged. "I'm probably not the best father figure, but it's better than what she had."

"A much better father figure I bet, I can hear the affection in your voice, you have a lucky anklebiter. Was there a reason they left her? It seems rather cruel to dump a helpless foal for no good reason."

"In some herds, if a mare dies in childbirth, the foal that 'broke' her is considered unlucky--a bad omen, if you will. The blanket can travel behind the herd, but no one is allowed to make contact with it. If the foal survives to adulthood, it can be welcomed into the herd, but most don't last that long." Punk shook his head. "I never understood those types of superstition." He rolled his eyes. "I'd found her by herself and had tried to return her. Then I got this big apology because I came into contact with a 'cursed' foal." The stallion snorted. "As if I'd be afraid of a little foal like that. Pompous jerks didn't even bother giving her a name, so I had to think of that too." Shrugging, he continued. "But, well... I don't mind too much. She doesn't talk, but I can still tell that she's happier than she was." A big grin spread across his maw. "She's got a personality kinda like yours, spunk-colt."

"We'll I'm sure she will turn out well, you would think the herd would look after her better because she is what is left of that mare pfft. And they call us evil, I would like to meet her one day Punk, if that is alright with you, she sounds intelligent and bright, something that my "'mother thing" is lacking."

"You'd think so..." He nodded to Sauron's request. "I don't have a problem with it. I think she could use some more social interaction. It'd be good for her to meet other Azrien." Punk smiled. "Her name's Ca Thu Thi."

"Does she really bite ankles?" Sauron giggled. He could just picture a foal nomming on someones poor defenseless ankles. "I look forward to it."

Punk chuckled. "Actually, yes, she does. She sticks her nose out and clamps those iron jaws around the nearest ankle... If she decides she likes you, she just nips or gnaws for a minute. If she doesn't... well, I've seen quite a few stallions and mares sporting beautiful teeth marks around their ankles."

"She is." Punk nodded. "Yeah... I'm heading back to Ca now. I don't like leaving her alone longer than I have to." Grinning, he added, "Can't have her wandering off and biting passerby's ankles."

"I will." Punk chuckled. "Prickles in your bed? Why would she do that?" he inquired. If Nocturne had gone through the trouble of bringing him south, why would she just go about tormenting the colt?

Punk laughed. "I can't have a hard time imagining Miss Shadowspirit mooning over anyone, even Me'urra." He smiled slightly at Sauron's words regarding his mother. "Big heart, huh...? The north tends to produce mares with those." He pulled out of his thoughts and glanced down at the colt. "You could always see if Avalanche will let you train with him when you're older," he suggested. "Me'urra's training under him now, so that would be a good place to find him on a regular basis. I'm not sure where he goes beyond that." He grinned. "You could always train with me first. Ca could use a sparing partner."
(( ... I'm suddenly reminded of Me'urra and Talutah Tala... ))

" I wouldn't mind a sparring partner. I do plan to get trained by Avalanche as well, I will be closer to him then my father is because of my connections with the foals of the herd, including Ruin's grandchildren and Avalanche's own if they come to visit."
(Sauron tends to do that and with Talu's own daughter as well @.@)
