"Music would be good!" Danny encouraged. She didn't really expect to find anything, but at least they could start there. What kind of music did Amphi even like? She knew the ghoul liked a few things from music club, but not in depth.
As Amphi's friend, she really needed to know these things! "What kinda music does she like anyways?" They rounded a corner and Danny stepped onto the escalator that took them to the second floor, where the music store was.

"Honestly?" Roch said, a dry expression on his face. "She's got a thing for pop." The horror... the shame... he was dating a ghoul that liked pop music--or whatever the jack they called it, now. He avoided it like the plague, but--"And Johnny Danger," he added, not very happy with that though especially.
"But hey, there's a new Joan of Arc, right? Maybe we should get one of the old Joanies and she can compare them to the new one when she comes out with a CD?"

"Really?" Danny said, somewhat excited to learn that Danny's favorites were also Amphi's favorites. "Johnny Danger is pretty-" Her eyes flicked nervously to Roch's. "Bad. Very bad." Right, it was still a secret to Roch that Danny quite fancied Danger's music.
Danny's face soured at Joanies. She liked pop but she definitely didn't like the Joanies. "Ehhh, she wouldn't like it."

"Fine, we'll get her a Jimi CD!" he declared. "Maybe we can get her to come around to real music." Since pop was clearly an abomination and should not exist in the punk boil's mind. Especially considering that his ghoulfriend liked to sing it all the time. "Or Janis. Janis would be cool..."

"Roooooch," she whined, tugging on his sleeve. "The present's for Amphi, not you."
She rolled her eyes and smacked him on the back. "Who's Janis anyways ..." Whoops.

He looked at her. He STARRRREEEDDD at her. "You--you're kidding me, right?" he said finally. "Tell me you didn't just ask that. Who's Janis, she says... and she's the vice president of the music club??" He shook his head, feeling a headache coming on.
"Janis is one of the most awesome ghost singers in the world," he told her. "She's jackin' amazing. EVERYONE should know who Janis is."

"Janis is vice president of the music club?" Danny repeated, alarm thick in her tone. "But I thought that was my job ..."
She then continued to listen to Roch list all the reasons why Janis was the best, and she was not.
Ow that hurt.

"No, YOU are, even if your musical education is jackin' lacking," Roch said. "Janis is a singer, one that started waaaay way waaaaay before either of us were born. Like, all the way back in 1970. She's a blues singer--she does stuff like Piece of My Parts, and Die Baby--" He shook his head.
"Weren't we here t'get Amphi a gift, though?" Since clearly they'd been distracted.
