"I promise I will carry my firelizard around on my boobs in your honor, Carltis. It will be a glorious perch." She craned her head up to grin at him, eyes going smile with the smile. Then suddenly Aleck and she officially became waist-high to both dudes. Being in this situation more than once taught her to stand up... and remain the shortest one in the room. Eyes at shoulder height and the two guys sharing guy-glances, Rochelle squirmed. Fake it until you were no longer ******** uncomfortable, that was the key to everything.
Right. Well. Awkward.
"Can I have the pink one? I like pink," She leaned in closer, wriggling her wounded hand at the pot. "We need to kidnap two more cups for them from around here somewhere, unless you had something else in mind. 'Sides, color of the flit doesn't matter. They're small psychic flying dragon beasts. They're good things to have."

Aleck was looking at him.
Carltis' dark eyes flickered away for a moment, but then back and he returned the tentative smile. "Well I thought after all the crap we could do with something nice." And there was Rochelle's input; he smiled down at her - still hesitant - and nodded. "Well, sure, you asked first. Pink one's your's, grey one's Aleck's. I haven't got any spare pots, but I'm sure we can get some easily enough and we can just leave them in the big pot for now.... Unless you want to hold them a bit? They're already hard so they should hatch pretty soon I think. Not right now, but in a few days?" He wasn't an expert but that was what he'd been told by the owner of the sire.

Conversation was happening. Bereck stirred very slightly and his eyes drifted open for a moment before closing again. Definitely people around. Groggily he tried to get a grip on the situation, to wake up properly. He was pretty sure one of the people had been Aleck, one of the voices too and that was pretty conclusive evidence in his blurry book. This made it alright that there were at least two others around, because if they were people Aleck was okay with they had to be more or less alright.
