"Oh, I believe I've 'herd 'o' you,' Domon." A voice rang out, cutting through the sounds of initial combat, shadows rising from the man that Domon was targeting in order to defend his side, catching the blade that Domon swung like a simple children's toy, the blade and shadows being hit once more by another blade, one that was remotely smaller, in the shape of a larger katana of sorts, the shadows enveloping on the blade and giving it an extra kick. Standing in front of Domon was a well known individual from the Sereiteri, one that Domon would probably know in a heartbeat. The man stood in his traditional orange jacket, leather pants adjusted to be loose enough for available and quick movement. Black hair, similar to Domon's adorned his head but his facial expressions seemed...bored...uninterested. It was hard to read his face, but Eko 'Tsurugi' Tsugetsa didn't seem to care. His face showed only a cold exterior but his eyes were aglow with an odd sort of light unaccustomed to the Second Division man. If Hinata were here, she'd certainly be a little more than surprised at that sight.

The wind swayed, Eko's hair blowing in the wind while he simply looked into Domon's own eyes before smiling with what could be a smirk or a genuine smile. "Tatakai, ani no tame ni junbi?" Eko asked, the fluent Japanese easily flowing from his lips, given that it had been enough time, it had only been few seconds passed. Long enough for Eko to give that quick exchange. Only one of his Zanpakuto were out, held firmly in his left hand. Quick as lightning, the shadows began to push away at Domon's blade while Eko drew his second Zanpakuto in a quick and powerful withdrawal. Aido...the art of drawing the sword, something Eko had performed quickly and with a great amount of force and speed in the strike, the blade and strike moving from Eko's waist to cut from Domon's lower waist to his shoulder. A quick but effective move on his own part, still allowing his left hand blade and shadows to hold off Domon's attack and deliver his own response, Eko vanishing as he launched himself backwards, landing on the ground several feet away from where they had convened, both blades held in a ready position, one in his left hand pointing backward while the other in his right pointing towards his own right. Eko's jacket continued to sway in the wind as he watched Domon and his own partner....Eko wondering about his own partner as well...

The sudden spike in reiatsu, the shift in the atmosphere; These things were quickly taken note off, Domon had appeared before Iori with his blade drawn and saying that he would kill him. Domon Tsugetsa, he had heard that name before, he was the Lieutenant of Squad 8, the Archival and Tactics Squad so of course he had some remote knowledge of the Arrancar. Then Domon rushed at him, Iori took note of his eyes, his mannerisms, this man, Domon Tsugetsa, Iori could tell that he was born for battle, a power hungry and battle driven fool; A monster if you will, the one thing Iori loathed more than anything.

"Tch"

The sound of irritation came from his mouth accompanied by the dead-pan stare of uninterested nature when it came to things like Domon, Iori would gladly rid the world of this pathetic creature. He reached for his blade which was holstered on his left side with his right hand, while he did he recited under his breath;"Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring..."This chant would be all too familiar to Domon, the #63 kido was sure to have some effect on the beast. Iori would not risk playing around with such a creature, he skipped the power gauging part and went straight for Domon, he knew little of his powers but knew the fact that his spell would pack enough power to at least cause some injury to him and possible slow him down.

But then as Domon was close enough to him something unexpected happened, shadows came forth and enveloped the large cleaver style blade of Domon, a mass of shadows clashed with the blade and revealed a smaller one clashing with the larger blade of Domon, the shadows then converging around the smaller one, giving it a boost of sorts; Iori knew this technique, he was sure of it. As the figure appeared and the Orange jacket flowed in the wind Iori only thought of the man, Squad Two Lieutenant and Commander of the Patrol Corps; Eko Domini Tsurugi the 'Angel Hidden in the Shadows'.

The reason why this man was here was not important, the only thing that mattered was that this man had a companion, he was hiding his energy pretty well and he knew not if he was going to interfere but for now he would focus on Domon. Iori took to the skies as Eko made his attack utilizing the distraction he gained a nice position above Domon and just as Eko cleared out of the way, it was the necessary opening for Iori as he finished his chant
"Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!"Just as Iori finished the incantation he extended his left hand in the direction Domon was in as the ball of energy formed in his hand.

"Hadō #63 Raikōhō !! He shouted over the expanse as the spell was fired, the lightning attack headed at Domon at great speeds and with full power thanks to the full incantation, Iori was pretty sure that this would not be enough to kill him, but certainty enough to wound him and possibly slow him down; As he fired the blast he held his katana with his right hand, always at the ready standing in the air keeping a close eye on Domon but being mindful of the other presence that was there with them.

to be killed by monsters, that is my promise...

The man standing on the ridge watched as Domon disappeared, the wake of his motion sending ripples of fabric all across his body. He sighed, watching as the situation changed from problematic to hostile. He couldn't truly blame Domon. It would have devolved to that anyways. Shan always believed in the chance of peaceful resolution, even if the probability was nil. Even watching from across the water, Domon was a force to be reckoned with. He was large, dominating, and powerful. Shan wasn't the man for such obvious displays of strength, which explained why he hid behind layers of clothes. He smirked however, as Domon's voice carried over the water. Kill yer a**. At least he cuts right to the point.

Shan watched for a moment longer, content to let the brawler dispatch of the solitary opponent. Domon hated having his fights interrupted, anyways, and Shan wasn't one to anger him. Domon was useful, and despite his crude nature made for a greater ally than some of the people he once worked in the Seirieitei with. Because they both understood honor, and integrity. Even if their definitions differed. When Domon's sword stopped midair, Shan leaned forward a little in anticipation. Another figure appeared across the water, and began talking. Nothing useful for Shan to go by, but he understood the situation now. He pulled his zanpaku-to out from his clothing with a soft slide, his blade lacked the murderous edge that gave it the hiss as it slid out of the shaft.

He appeared, suddenly, beside Domon, his blade whipping out to catch the second strike of shadows that was aimed at Domon. He swung his whole body into the strike, pressing his knuckles against the flat of his blade to push the attack aside. With his body still spinning to the side, he continued to spin around until he was reversed, now facing Domon. He held up a hand and muttered. A circular shield of spinning, yellow energy appeared directly overhead, the pale lightning crashed against it, spreading over its surface and flying harmlessly to the sides.

As the attack ended, Shan brought his hand down and turned to face the two shinigami, a frown the only thing visible through his hood. "I suggest you both leave." He spoke clearly, even if not loudly, to the two interlopers that were before them. "I am not responsible for how desiccated you will become after fighting Domon. I do not know why you both came here, but it is much better to leave and fight another day rather than die for nothing." He brought the soul cutting blade in front of him, and held it with both hands. His stance was wide, the blade held out parallel to the ground.

"I will give you this one warning. Run." Shan had lost some of his nonchalance after so long. Perhaps Domon was rubbing off on him slightly. Or perhaps the constant moving, the lack of sleep and food, and the constant thought that the Soul Society would find him and bring him in for the ultimate justice was finally starting to rub him the wrong way. "If you die here, no one will know of your passing. I guarantee it."

His lips would downturn into a hostile frown the second the air darkened with shadow. There was only one punk a**, little b***h of a boy who would dare use this sort of power against Domon, King of the Blade. That little b*****d did it just to annoy him, too. " There's only one reason fer a b***h like Eko Tsurugi ta show his ugly mug 'round me, " Domon began, his words dripping with malice and hatred. One would notice that he stressed the Tsurugi in his speech, as if making a jab at his a** of a brother. " An' that's ta git his a** handed tooooo 'im again. " Domon's eyes shot up, locking with Ekos. They breathed of leagues of hatred, an anger that had never been answered, and not even the tiniest breath of respect.

Domon didn't move a muscle when the first guy started chanting some spell, and Eko swung with his second blade. Maybe it was confidence in his own strength, and his ability to just take attacks of that power. Maybe it was some machismo, a desire to show that this sort of s**t didn't do a thing to Domon. He would be left standing there, unfazed simply because of his will to deadlock a stare with the piece of s**t brother. That went unanswered, as Shan came in swinging. Whoosh, a blade, whoosh, some kidou. He was pretty badass, and as Domon disengaged his blade from Eko's own, he smirked. " Ya see, I got backup too. " Domon spat out, turning the simple words into an insult to the two shinigami.

Normally, the warrior would have freaked the ******** out. But, something about rubbing it in Eko's face that his friends were cooler sent the anger packing. Instead, Domon chuckled deep in the back of his throat.

But, when his partner began talking, he stopped his laugh. It was weird. Shan was one of the only shinigami who had ever earned the respect of the dreaded arrancar. To make it weirder, Shan had gone far enough to earn his friendship. One of the few things they had in common was their deep affection, almost a fetish, of honor and respect. Domon had enough respect for Shan to not move, and stand by. If the man wanted to toss words, it wasn't Domon's place to mess that up. It would be downright disrespectful to do something like that. Ultimately, it was Domon's respect for Shan that held his blade and body back from another attack.

Not to mention, the way Shan mentioned that Domon would rend them piece from piece was the kind of thing he liked to hear. ******** scary.

"I can leave any time I please." Eko's voice rang out, "Domon knows it. Iori knows it. My DAUGHTER knows it." His eyes furrowed as he looked at Shan, ignoring Domon for the overgrown monkey that he was and always would be, "If I die here...many would know. You guarantees mean nothing to me. The question might stand as to why you two are here, Shan Hokori." Yes, he knew who the man was. How couldn't he? He was a part of Division Two, who held all information on Shingami and Arrancar....as much as they could anyway. Eko's own vision expanded farther than any other individual's...so it was not that surprising. His blades were placed back in their sheathes while his body tensed to be prepared for any sort of movement from Domon's companion or the elder brother himself. His hands however, remained on his blades as he looked at his opposition. "I don't back down to him." No...the last time, he had been beaten to unconsiousness...but that was a while ago....

The entrance of Shan into the fray was not something that surprised him, He heard Domon speak, then Shan. They expected Iori to leave? How foolish, he simply used shunpo to appear beside Eko, as he grasped his blade's handle while he brushed his hair back with his other hand.

"I will not be dying here, empty threats will get you nowhere"

He spat out un-amused by the man, he knew well who he was, Squad 8 was in charge of Archives and tactics, it was unfortunate for them that Iori and Eko where the ones in this fight, Iori was a born tactician and Eko was sharp and had muscle to back it up as did Iori, plus, he knew Domon's fighting style, a slight smirk escaped the corner of his mouth as he looked at them"I am the Lieutenant of Squad 8, Tactical and Archival Division of the Gotei 13, Eko is a rather accomplished member of the Gotei in Squad 2; the Assassination Squad, but of course you should know that already Shan Hokori..."His tone, it was almost a mocking tone as he raised a brow at both men, he would not back down from a fight and being the sound tactician he was he held confidence in his skills and intelligence "The reason I am telling you this, is so that you may realize that we are here because we are more than qualified and capable of dealing with you two. I have no intention of dying here, and Eko does not have any intention of rolling over for you so we come to a deadlock..."He paused slightly as he looked to Eko.

"I assure you; In the odd chance that something were to happen to us, it will certainly not go un-noticed so as I see it you have two options, either you surrender and come quietly or you do us a favor and resist so that we may kill you both and rid the world of scum like you." He finished as his slight smirk turned into a sadistic almost psychotic smile, the killing intent was obvious, Iori hated to kill the weak, but people like Shan and Domon he would gladly execute, he held his blade with his right hand as he slipped into an Iaido stance, he wasn't a master of it, but he knew enough to be effective with it at this range, this conversation was over he had said his piece and nothing would change his mind now.

Well, at least I tried. Shan thought, watching the two with their cute forms of bravado. He supposed he couldn't blame them. The indoctrination of the Seireitei was strong, and it was limitless. Obey the law and only the law. Trust that the law is good instead of your own morality. Deny the greater good if the law so demands, for the law is the greatest good. He heard heard all of these things through his years of the Seireitei. And he had grown sick of it. So much so that he did the unthinkable. He killed one of his own colleagues when they went to mercilessly slaughter an innocent being. A man born of shinigami and then damned to a tainted fate. They did nothing wrong, and still they were fated to die by simply existing. Something that Shan could not accept.

"Fine. Since you both seem so eager to display your statures, I shall display mine. I wouldn't want you to forget the danger of a traitor." He pulled the hood of his overcoat free from his face, exposing his light, tender, and effeminate face. He didn't look powerful, or dangerous. He looked like a quirky shopkeeper with brittle bone disease. Nothing could be further from the truth.

"Your mouths are not fit to speak of me. For I am Shan Hokori. Former Captain of the Tenth Division. Captain-killer. Wielder of Tenchikaibyaku. You have chosen your path. And you have chosen wrong." Shan raised his zanpaku-to, and pointed it at Iori. "My condolences, Lieutenant." He emphasized the lower rank on purpose. "Your Captain must have some deep and abiding hatred of you to send you on such a quest. He didn't even prepare you properly." Shan let out a wry smirk, and tightened his grip on the dulled blade of his soul cutter's edge. He nods his head slightly to the side at Domon. "Amateurs." With that, he started walking towards Iori, taking his time. Savoring the moment. Being as calm and patient and unchanging as stone.

"Come, Lieutenant, and I will show you why, for hundreds of years, I haven't been caught. Come, Lieutenant, and I mete upon you a reckoning you will not begin to understand." His feet fell light on the sand, but he moved swiftly across it, as if the very earth was accepting his presence, and urging him forwards. His blade's tip was still pointed at Iori, directly at his head. "There is nothing on the earth or in the skies that can stop me. If you did your research, you'd know this." He stopped walking a fair distance away from Iori, close enough now that legitimate combat could begin; none of that childish throwing of kidou that precedes true combat and often predicts the maturity of the combatant.

Shan, weapon still at the ready in front of him, tipped his blade upwards in a 'come here' manner. "I will show you what true power looks like." He paused for a moment, and then smirked. "Whelp."

What a surprise, more idle threats and now he had airs of grandeur and outlandish delusions... Oh he would wipe the ground with this arrogant traitor, as Shan walked towards Iori he couldn't help but smirk slightly, not a mocking smirk, more of a twisted half smile. His words, his words were full of conceit and arrogance as he stated his former rank and the name of his zanpakuto, even going as far as saying he Iori was beneath him, stating he was sent to his death by his Captain, Shan was in for an eye opener, Iori threw away his overcoat and drew his blade, the sound of the metal leaving the sheath resonated slightly in a low ringing sound as he completely pulled out his blade with his right hand, a flick of the wrist, a simple yet graceful movement as he lowered his blade and placed it parallel to the floor. The blade moving seemed to almost 'cut' the air, as it moved, with no resistance from anything around him.

Shan was not the only one with a famous blade, Shinwa-jō no gādian; This blade was what gave Iori his nickname, this blade was a legend and as its motion came to a stop the very sand shifted, a slight cut on the surface caused merely by the blades sharpness and his own spiritual energy which was so well conveyed through his blade. He knew it, his blade reeled with anticipation as it still ringed slightly, it knew, this would be a bitter and bloody battle to the end.

He let the man speak and make his way to him, this would be a battle between to legendary blades, a battle of epic proportions, the arrogance in Shan's words knew no bounds as he threatened Iori once again, he said nothing in the earth or skies could stop him, that Iori had not done his research and he would die for it. Iori only gave a wry laugh at the man as he stopped, a final word before beginning the battle were a courtesy that he would at least grant the arrogant traitor;"I know full well who you are Shan Hokori, former Captain of Squad 10, deemed a traitor for killing a comrade while in a mission; I have done my research, it is my job to do so, the reason why I, a Lieutenant a rank which you so openly mock has been sent after you is simple...."His tone, it lacked the earlier tone, it lacked concern, emotion, it lacked everything. It was a cold tone which seethed out of his mouth like daggers at Shan as he paused for a slight second, his eyes locked with Shan's his spiritual pressure beginning to rise slightly in preparation for the fight ahead. "In the hundreds of years that you have been running the standards of power within the Gotei 13 have changed, Lieutenants are much more powerful that in your times and I am no ordinary Lieutenant..."His words continued flowing until pausing, he took a moment to look to Eko, it seemed that he would be stuck disposing of Domon, his brother, Iori knew Eko to be a man focused on the task ahead he only shot a look to Eko, a look that said 'Dont you go dying, I hate the extra paperwork'; he turned his gaze to Shan once more as he continued speaking.

"I am Iori Yagami, Lieutenant of Squad 8 and wielder of Shinwa-jō no gādian, 'Wielder of Legends'. Now you know the name of the man who will claim your life. As my final courtesy to you, take this moment to pray, repent for your sins and consult whatever god you believe in because when I am done with you, you wont have eyes, you wont have ears or a tongue; You will wander the Underworld Blind, Deaf and Dumb and all the dead will know, 'That is Shan Hokori, the fool who thought he could kill Iori Yagami'. " This conversation was over, Iori turned his body slightly sideways and flicked his wrist once more as he raised his blade placing it at shoulder level and pointing it towards Shan, his index and middle fingers placed on the blade, he ran them from the hilt all the way up, slowly and as he did the ringing stopped and so did his fingers when he reached the tip of the blade..

" Won't back down. Heh. " Domon couldn't help but chuckle at his little words. " I can call ya brave, but yer foolish as ******** man. " Domon jabbed a finger at his brother with a smirk.

Last time they had fought, Domon had just about beaten the boy to a pulp. It wasn't even long and drawn out, Domon just outclassed the kid. He hadn't stopped training either, and he'll if he thought Eko would quit either. This fight was gonna be a lot more fun, he concluded with a dark, glowering stare towards the shinigami.

Out of his ear, Domon heard the other two begin their fight with words. They were both arrogant, but Shan's came from a confidence in his power over the earth. This b***h, pretty much no matter what power he could throw around, just wouldn't compare to the former captain, and Domon's long time companion. After all, Domon wouldn't be able to throw around with some weak a** punk.

He disregarded what the man was saying to the other. He needed to lock in on target. Some arrogant bullshit about being a legend wasn't gonna distract him from the sweet a** he was about to kick. If only there were some strict beats playing, it would make this all the fresher.

Domon's eyes locked on Eko, and his smirk widened. He wasn't gonna clue in when he was gonna attack with words this time. No, ready or not bull s**t. It was gonna be a bloodbath.

Domon's body dispersed in sonidoed, and the man appeared within striking distance of his brother. He was close; close enough to breathe the same air. Before either one of them blinked, Domon's sword swung in a dangerously close arc. He went right for the blood, right for the kill. Domon's blade would tear through his brother if he left himself unprotected, and s**t was going down.

You could say the fight has begun. Brother against cooler brother, punk as against killer, the prey being hunted.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Eko only looked at his partner, who continually ranted about who he was and his namesake in the Sereiteri. These guys DID NOT CARE. They were here to fight, not listen to the name and rank of a particular individual in the Sereiteri. With only a shake of his head, he looked at Domon, narrowing his eyes as his elder brother Sonidoed, Eko managing to feel his brother's shadow moving at the speed he was going, withdrawing one of his blades, grasping the handle with two hands as he caught Domon's strike, making both of the blades stop where they stood. In that split second, Eko ducked, allowing his brother's momentum to continue, passing over his head as he spun by Domon, cutting at Domon across his abdomen before backstepping, continuing to hold his blade up while watching the Arrancar move about. Ready for this fight to commence.

Children. We're fighting children. Shan sighed internally, and then bent low at the knees. "Have it your way." He closed his eyes for a second, and his mind began to clear. Steady as the earth, you must be. As unchanging and unrelenting as the peerless mountains. Unbidden by time or revelation. His zanpaku-to spoke to him, as she always did in these times, reminding him of his purpose. When he opened his eyes, he was in the middle of shun-po. Nothing powerful or fast, nothing elegant. A simple shift of speed to close the distance. He appeared a sword's distance away from his contender, knees bent low and sword held steady. He forced the sword forward from his body, extending it from the center of himself towards his foe's chest.

As Shan used shuunpo to bridge the distance Iori quickly took note of it, it wasn't fast or anything of the sort, it was actually rather average. He motioned his sword in a stab towards Iori a move which Iori countered by slashing with his right hand downwards with force, he had enough strength to halt the movement and send it elsewhere yet enough skill to compete with some of the best swordsmen. As he countered he quickly reconstituted by using the momentum and shifted the direction of his blade with a flick of the wrist, he aimed to slash at Shan's throat. He held his hand at a neutral height and distance while keeping his knees slightly bent, his stance, he knew not to be off guard with this man, he could easily release his blade and catch it with his free hand if it was necessary, Shan would see that Iori's words were not just for show, he had the skill and power to back them up.

With a quick pull, Shan lifted his blade upwards, connecting with the slash that was aimed at his throat. His face showed little of the exertion that he was using to combat this boy, because it was minimal. He was a talented lieutenant, but that was like saying you were combating a talented toddler. It mattered little. Shan stopped the blade just short, his blade held out at an angle. He quickly pointed a finger at Iori's chest and said quietly, "Sho." Shan wasn't a vast purveyor of kidou. He had no use for most of them. But the few that he did use he used very effectively, and very well. Just such a kidou is Sho. Sho had no intent to slice off arms and leave people limbless. That was not his style. His style was much more laborious, and much more painful.

Shan was skilled, he knew that much; The man countered his sword strike with little effort and sent a Kido #1 at him, Iori was confident in his strength and resiliency and only raised his spiritual output slightly and got hit center mass, he was sent skidding several feet back, that spell wasn't meant for killing or injuring, it was meant to gain distance something Iori would not easily allow; The spell packed more energy than usual but as Iori skidded back he lifted his left index."Hado # Byakurai" He said as he came to a stop and a bolt of lightning fired straight towards Shan's sternum, the proximity allowed Shan little time to react, Iori chose this spell because of what Shan had already displayed, an opening of sorts; His lack of speed, this would play a factor in this fight and undoubtedly in this exchange.

Domon felt the blades connect solidly. Domon was stronger, and immediately, his brother's blade began to push down. Domon had grown up expecting this sort of block to go one of two ways. Most often, it went the second way, hich involved ducking under the strike, and attacking the midsection in response. The other involved death, so the arrancar prepared for the first. Through his blade, he felt the shift of Eko's body, a second before he began to move.

Years of swordsmanship and killing lived on in Domon. This little punk couldn't understand the speed and power with which Domon could apply to the use of his blade. The second Domon felt Eko move, shifting his weight and the sword beneath Domon's own blade, the arrancar would lift his blade, and as Eko moved bring it down to a swing that would cross along Eko's moving path. Domon had the strength to flip his sword, and then immediately enact a strike within that small space.

Eko hadn't seen this level of skill, for the man had never been forced to use suck strength and speed around the kid. Eko had never been as skilled as Domon; he usually resorted to stupid b***h tricks, involving weird s**t from his zanpakuto. Domon wasn't gonna have any of that crap.
