"Hey douche-kiddo, no time.... fer.... breaks." Ofelia sat up from within her pod, turning to look at him. Her face was pale, her skin lined with sweat. Even if she didn't act like it everything hit her hard out there and she sighed, pulling herself out of her pod and over to him. "Have a sweet trip." she pushed the button before he could say anything, a cruel grin over her lips.

Back in the arena, Ofelia's new golem once again stretched. Just how many times could he die before he snapped? Let him taste fear, Ofelia already knew what it was like.

The second round wasn't starting off too well, Ofelia took a step forward and her golem's foot connected with a landmine. This time her legs weren't blown off but half her upper torso was, prompting her to sway back and forth.
Inside the pod she let out a scream, but she had to keep it together in the arena. "Okay, douche-kiddo, yer turn." She had to stay calm, had to stay calm.
It was no fun if both of them panicked.

And then everything went black again.
When he woke up, he was in a new golem, and so was redhead. When this was done and over with, he would kill her.
First step, and she already blew half herself up. Guess he didn't really have to do anything but let the field take revenge on her. He was really, REALLY starting to hate this training course.
Distracted, he had almost melted himself with the first step, but managed to catch himself in time and hopped to the adjacent tile. Damn, he had to be more careful.

It was hard to see, considering half her face had been blown off along with her torso, but the goelm kept moving and it was only because she tripped and rolled that she missed a swinging log that would have knocked her into a pit full of spikes. Man this room was getting creative.
"Whelp, two down an' three ta go." Ofelia liked to be optimistic.

Jake stared blankly at the golem.
... How was she even able to TALK?
Distracted, he nearly blew himself up again, but managed to side-step the mine, blowing up only HALF of him. ... Great.

Ofelia was still on her feet, both legs moving and just half her jaw missing, when she stepped forward and found herself suddenly falling. Annoyed that she was going to go out with the typical falling to her death bit she was about to just closer her eyes and wait when the sound of sharp metal clanging echoed in her golem's ears.
She didn't even really have time to scream as three blades seemed to come from nowhere, chopping her body into three neat pieces. They fell into a pile at the bottom of the hole, stacked on many others, and Ofelia woke up breathless again in her pod.

And... there she goes. This training course... was so demented. He had a new life purpose. COMPLETE THIS DAMN COURSE.
But nope, karma. Freaking karma had something else in mind. He barely let out a yelp as the golem's foot plunged into the lava, slowly dissolving it.
The pain was unbearable.

He sat up, panting, face drenched with sweat. A trembling hand clutched at his coat.
Even though they were using golems, each hit, each blow... felt so real. He shook his head. No. He wasn't going to give up now. He was going to finish this damn training course if it was the last thing he did.
Not waiting for Ofie, he managed to figure out how to program the pod from inside, woke up in a new golem, and took a new step forward. In his haste, he didn't notice the acidic goop, and managed to dissolve a leg.

When it looked like the kid didn't need to wait on Ofelia anymore she went ahead and started up her third golem, ready to see how this one played out. It felt a little different from the others, or maybe it was because she was watching the other guy go first and roast his foot, so when it was Ofelia's turn to move her golem made an easy jump.
To a safe tile.
Ahh, bliss. "Yer up."

Perhaps she shouldn't have been so careless, been so laughing, because Ofelia took an awkward step and found herself suddenly covered in something that was peeling the flesh from her skin one strip at a time.
This was an awkward way to go, even if she could endure for a few more steps. "Keep goin', ya gotta make five steps if ya wanna pass."

... 5 steps. That was all they had to do? It sounded doable, yet this course... it simply did not like them.
Regardless, Jake wouldn't give up. He wasn't a quitter. BRING IT ON YOU STUPID COURSE. He hobbled another step forward, quickly leaning to the side to make himself fall sideways when he realized the tile before him had more acidic crap.

Ofelia's fingers were starting to fall off on her golem, whatever it was eating through the flesh rapidly (it was both painful and entertaining), so when a finger dropped she bent down to pick it up as it rolled onto another tile. Just as she went for it her foot kicked it ahead, prompting her to jump forward.
In her luck she managed to avoid what looked like a cannon loaded with buckshot.
Ouch.

Ofelia took another step forward, her golem reaching the end of its glorious reign, and she stopped just in time to see the kid's untimely death once more. A cackle escaped, from both inside her pod and from the golem she was currently in, and she motioned in the direction of the pod room. She spoke, as loud as she could.
"Now now, dun let me beatcha. A crippled girl beatin' a healthy young man? Shame on ya." Her spot, of course, was currently safe, but that was about it for now. Only one more step and she'd have passed again.
