"No. It's something I've been meaning to bring up for a little while. Or rather.. is likely a little overdue at this point. This sort of thing doesn't come to mind all too often," Shun started before pausing, trying to think of how he wanted to put this. After a little bit of time, he opened his mouth to start speaking again.

"I just wanted to say... thank you. Everything has been crazy the past few months but.. you were still there for support, even if I am a bit of a b*****d," he said quietly, "You've helped keep me in check. I appreciate it."

In a way, friends were still a little odd to Shun. He knew that his ideals and morals were not exactly something Lizzy approved of. He knew he could probably be frustrating to deal with. Furthermore, he felt as though she had helped him a little more than the other way around.

Leaning forward, he placed his hand onto the coffee table before moving away again.

Of all the things, Shun did not expect Lizzy to start crying. Seeing the tears flowing, he just sort of froze. Had he said or done something wrong here? Hearing her choke out a response of thanks, he furrowed his brow. It also sounded like she was laughing a bit.

Were these happy sobs?

The Reaper still didn't quite understand that concept, despite having seen it happen a few times. Though, the comment on him being an amazing friend had him shaking his head.

"I'm nothing special," he said quietly. After all, he had just dragged Mitsu through a rather stressful and hazardous time.

Shun was rather confused about this whole thing. He didn't understand the tears or the laughter... or the fact that she was doing both at the same time. What was so funny? She didn't think that he was joking, did she? Tilting his head a little, he watched her before she finally gave a little more insight on what she meant.

Ah. So she did speak to him like he suggested. And apparently it didn't go all too well.

"I see..." he said at first before frowning as she continued to speak. It was like the last time he had found Lizzy shortly after she broke up with Mac. It had hurt her then so he could only imagine that it hurt her all the same now. Not to mention that he had apparently cheated on her. That b*****d.

"I doubt anything I say will ease that pain," he said quietly. He hadn't gone through something quite like that, but he did recall the way he felt when he thought he lost Mitsu. Or that time he feared she wouldn't love him any more. It wasn't the same. But... that idea had been painful. Even so... comforting another has never been a strength of his. And he didn't even really know how to ease this sort of thing for himself let alone for another.

"But, you will be better off without him. He's broken your heart so many times now. Don't let this demean your sense of self-worth. You've put up with the likes of me... and my trust doesn't go around too freely."

In a way, it was something he was worried about regarding his own lycan. Would she grow tired of how many times he had failed her? He certainly wasn't the easiest person to deal with either..

Now, Shun was a little more certain of what Lizzy felt. It was just pain, as the laughter ceased and she just started to sob some more. She was shaking now too. Grimacing quietly, he stared at her as she managed to speak some more, expressing herself. That was something he feared to an extent. That one day, Mitsu would grow tired of him or decide that he really wasn't worth putting up with.

If that ever did happen, he wasn't sure what he would do. He had come close to that situation once.. or rather he thought he did. Before he realized that he was dealing with an impostor. But he recalled that despair. She might have been a fake, but his pain was all too real.

"Keep your head high," he said quietly, reaching out somewhat hesitantly to place his hand onto her shoulder. He was trying to look her in the eyes, "You're better off without someone who would simply give up on you. You have others who can support you still. I don't know entirely how love works but perhaps you will eventually find someone who won't toss your heart away. Or.. I don't know. Find some way to still care for him even if he does not do the same for you."

Of course none of this stopped the fact that he still wanted to kill that guy one of these days. It was bound to happen.

"It may be shorter than you believe," Shun noted quietly. Moving his hand away from her, he sat up a little more straight, taking a few moments to look over the demon.

"If you need me, you have my number. You've helped me enough in the past. Perhaps its time I pay what is owed."
