The man glanced over to Sige as he dressed himself, unable to hide his crooked grin as he paused in dressing himself, his hands on his hips almost teasingly. "Sige!" It was clear Garrett had a witty quip on the tip of his tongue, but he managed to stay his words, moving his arms to cross over his chest instead. "I apologize -- I'm very comfortable around you." And mindful, he subtly turned to the side as he finished dressing himself, not turning back until he'd placed his jacket on, now practically covered entirely from the base of his neck-down.

Even his hands were clothed in riding gloves, the likes of which deftly gathering his belongings, though he didn't pull away from the hand on his back. Green eyes settled on the merchant's face, his smile a little crooked as he leaned in to press a lingering kiss to Sige's lips. "And yet I don't want to be protected from you." A small smirk formed before he turned his head, taking slow steps out of the room, waiting for Sige to follow so he could lock the door in their wake. "Believe me, Sige -- the only way you'll be free of me is if you say it clearly. I'm sure from our first meeting, you'll have seen that I'm a bit hard to dissuade from what my heart so dearly desires."

Even with the other man turning to his side he couldn't help but stare at him rather anxiously, a heavy wistful stare as the man finished dressing himself.

"And I wouldn't do anything to hurt you in any case," he said gently, eyes closed with the kiss, hands ghosting at the man's sides. "I'd rather protect you." He mumbled that last part, his eye not opening till a moment later, finding Garrett head over to exit the room. And he followed the brunette out, standing rather closely to him as he shut the door behind them, a small smile pulling at the edge of his lips. "I suppose I'll never get free of you, then. Cause I have no intention of saying anything that would chase you away." And even the walk in the hallway and the descent of the stairs felt so fleeting, the merchant subtly touching his hand and brushing shoulders with the other delicately.

"I know you wouldn't. I could see the kindness in you even across that dreary bar." Garrett was less reserved in touching Sige as they descended the stairs, his belongings in one hand and the other twining gloved fingers with the merchant's own. He would take what small stolen touches he could before they left the safety of his home, as once the door opened, he would not be able to do so much as shake the man's hand without drawing unnecessary attention. Still harboring an overwhelming heat between them, it was all the mercenary could do to let Sige's hand go as he opened the front door, bidding his maid farewell before they were outside and no longer in the sanctuary of privacy. It made his heart feel heavy.

A gentle nudge to his elbow brought his attention around, blinking at the Yearling that was now standing next to him. With a small smile, Garrett gently rubbed the bristly fur between Aravel's eyes, content as the glowing green orbs closed in satisfaction. At least he wouldn't be making this trek alone. Looking to Sige, he drew in a deep breath, trying not to look as helpless as he felt. It felt like good bye, and that was not something he'd ever intended to experience with the brunette. "I guess I'll be on my way then," he said reluctantly, still feeling the sense of urgency nipping at his heels. Unfortunately, it didn't matter how quickly he got there, as it wouldn't make what was going to happen, happen any faster.

"But I urge of you, please -- if you're in the area, do come visit!" He put on a happier smile, trying to conceal how utterly hollow he felt about leaving Sige behind. "Just ask for me by name. No one will question you."

And quickly after, Arden joined the three making their way, sensing the heavy air around the two humans and giving his chosen an affectionate touch of nose to his side in consolation. Even he felt the feeling of goodbye, and it was not a feeling he wanted.

Of course Sige didn't want that even more, green-blue eyes set on Garrett the whole time they walked as if he would disappear in any moment. Though, it was was something he couldn't prevent. It was such a short time in paradise with the brunette. Far too short. "Yes, of course." he tried to comfort the other by entwining their hands together, but it was really more for him to comfort himself --- "I -- really hope to see you soon." was his reply to the mercenary. He couldn't promise just yet but heaven knew, the first opportunity he had to jump on a horse and ride to Garrett's arms again -- he'd take it with no hesitation.

"I will wait for you, or I shall find you." He quietly said before he leaned in to kiss the man soft and sweet, fleeting. "Goodbye Garrett." And how he hated those words so. "--Till we meet again." The merchant said with a hopeful look in his eyes.

There was a comfort to be had in the merchant's simple honesty: the hope to see him again. The idea that someone like Sige would hope for anything of him that indicated a future was so foreign to the mercenary, he could not even try to stop the smile that curved his scarred lips. The kiss that briefly silenced his words was so chaste and quick, it made his heart ache for want of more -- but they were not somewhere he could safely impart his affection upon the man. He would have to be content.

"...til we meet again," he repeated with a quiet type of tone that could almost be said to be shy. "Dream of me." Garrett had a hard time parting on a serious note and, with his gentle teasing imparted, he gave Sige an affectionate gaze that lingered too long to be polite before he turned, putting his hand on Aravel's neck and heading off of his grounds and towards the city entrance.

At least he'd have something to look forward to.
