Blue widened further still, briefly. Then dark lids shuttered, lowered as he bowed.

Flickering did not argue. He merely nodded, and, with a strange, dreamy trace of a smile, bowed once more and wandered off who knew where.

Cryptic etchings now trailed outwards from the body, a mix of shallow channels and drawn splashes, dragged across the ground by skilled hooves. The collection was just that bit rough, as if afflicted by an uncontrollable emotion that bled out at the edges.
It was novel to hear him speak to a stranger, and speak so much. But strangers usually didn't last quite so long in his own grasp.
"Flickering, is it." He said, muzzle brushing past the feathery mane.

There was nothing to be said. There was only one final laugh, amused and giving, but most certainly foreboding.

"I will make sure of it," he said, almost a sigh, and picked his way back through the bloody troughs, in the opposite direction of the hapless wanderer’s.
He paused, just once, almost clear of the killing field, before he loped off in pursuit of the hunt, knowing the darkness would follow. He paused, turning an alien eye back to return the shadowing stare.
"You are evil," he said. And for all that it was broken, there was an edge of reverence.
