"Something coming from the top...?" Dyakida felt it, inspecting the strange, smooth thing with her hands.
"Maybe... Some sort of... Plant?" She doubted it. She felt the sharp edges of the broken, dulled screen, not that that phased her much. She was used to the sharp edges of weapons.
"Its... hollow?" no there was something inside it. Something... It was difficult to describe.
"From the roof? Is it whatever I touched with my antennae?"
She stopped groping about the television's innards... it was difficult to 'see' in there because of the broken, sharp shards.
She felt along the back again.
"Briella, there's a... root, or something coming from this..." Wait, was it a plant, even? She traced the cable back, to the wall where it ended. Feeling the wall, she could confirm. Yes, these walls were not made of the earth.
"If this was made... If these things were made..." Dyakida stood up and walked towards where she thought Briella was- she was actually a little bit off, but her questing hand soon had her back at her sister's shoulder.
"Who made them, and what are they?" she frowned as she stepped on something that dug into her foot. It was uneven and hard, full of... scales? she picked it up. It was about the size of her foot and covered in small scales of different sizes and shapes. They were loose, and could be pushed in... but they were like no scales she had ever seen, as they were on what had been a flat surface before it had warped. (A remote control, lost in time and without a channel to turn.)
"And why?" she finished, holding out the scaled thing to Briella.

Briella shook her head. "No, not a plant. Everything in here is nothing like a plant, though some of them have plants on them. And no it's not hollow. Though I am unsure of what is in it." she said looking at the television. She tried to see inside of but all she could really see were shapes.

"Yes, you must have ran into it." Briella said looking at the light fixture. When Dya said there was something coming from the box she moved to see closer, and the thing just dissapeared into the wall. "I don't know what it is, though I don't think it is a root. This is not natural." she said feeling the cord.

When Dya reached out for her Briella stood and placed her sisters hand on her shoulder. When Dya picked up the remote Briella looked it over, touching the buttons. It was all so strange. "Although I don't know who made these, or what they were used for, there is no doubt in my mind that these were made. Not recently either, the earth has claimed mostly everything in this room. Everything in here is old, really old. Like I don't know if Elder would even know about these things..." Niebet was right in going to the Elder, she would know most about these things.

Dyakida frowned.
"I have a feeling that even our Elder wouldn't know about... whatever these are. Whatever this place is."
Dyakida's hand glided over Briella's as she played with the remote. There was an odd scent in here, one she couldn't quite place. A sense of claustrophobia, with that smell, seemed to crowd in on her, like walls. She wanted to keep moving... she didn't want to leave, not so soon into their... adventure. Doing so would disappoint Briella, and that was the last thing that Dyakida wanted to do.
"I believe we should continue on, though. Perhaps we will find something that will make sense of this place..."
she edged a bit closer, not wanting to lose her in this suddenly very strange-feeling place.

Briella nodded. Yes Dyakida was right. It was very likely that their Elder wouldn't know about this place... Maybe old Earthlings? No she doubted whoever knew about this place was still around to explain it to her. When Dyakida said she wanted to continue on Briella nodded, tightening her hand around Dya's. Even though this place wasn't really scary she knew she wouldn't be okay if she lost Dyakida.

"There are two ways to go, I'm going to go through the bigger entrance." Briella said as she started to walk. They had been in the living room of what was once a house, and the door that she was walking through was what would have once been a kitchen. In the middle of this new room there was a square, what would've been an island in the kitchen. "There is something like a table in the middle of this place. And lots of things attached to the walls..." she said as she looked at this cabinet. Oh what a find this place was!

This place smelled musty, with the faintest, faintest whiff of fire. She stayed with Briella, not wanting to take her hand away. She ran her other hand along the island in the center.
"It's very... Smooth." she commented, brushing off some of the dust, "Definitely too smooth to be natural. It feels like... stone? But so smooth. Polished stone?" She wasn't expecting much of an answer.
"Brie..." She loved her sister, but sometimes she forgot. She sighed. "What sort of things are on the walls, Brie?" she moved closer and groped out in front of her at the cabinets. They were... odd. A sheet of wood and something smooth, hanging... hanging?! ajar from an open space. she felt one of the shelves.
"What on tendajii is this?!" she exclaimed, completely perplexed, "Is this a... shelf?" She felt around it "In a box? Why would... This place is very bizzare."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:15 am

When Dyakida said her name she frowned. It wasn't that she was forgetting to tell her sister about what she saw, it was more of that she didn't know what to say about everything! "Yes, I think it is stone looking. Though it would have to be polished to be that smooth." she said touching the island.

She was about to tell her sister about the cabinets when she moved towards them and started feeling them. "I think there were things in them?" she said moving closer to the cabinets with Dyakida. She picked up pieces of a smashed plate. "Feel this." she said handing it to her sister. It wasn't sharp so it wouldn't hurt her. Picking up another piece she tested it with her hands and it crumbled. "Whatever it is it isn't very stable." she said as she let the finishing pieces fall to the floor.

Briella nodded. "Very, very bizarre."

Dyakida felt the ancient plate crumble between her fingers.
"Please tell me this isn't the same material as the walls..." Why would anybody build anything out of the crumbling mass in her hand?
But things didn't seem... entirely sane here, to touch or, in Brie's case, to sight.
Her hand, having been drawn back from the shelf, returned... but lower.
Another counter.
"There seem to be... are they tables? They feel like they're everywhere..."
She felt along the edge and down along the side.
"Ah! There's something here!" she felt along a knob or handle of some sort. It moved slightly out, still attached to it's drawer, then slid a bit off it's decaying tracks. She felt along the edges.
"... another box..." she said, a mix of wonder and incredulity, "Whoever... whatever... built these ruins seem to have liked boxes and tables..." she knelt and felt carefully around inside...

Briella looked around at the walls and smiled. "As far as I can tell no, the material that this thing was made of is not the same as the walls." However if she was wrong they would be in big trouble. Though if the walls crumbled that easily she was sure they wouldn't still be standing.

As Dyakida searched the counter's Briella watched, mildly scared that Dyakida would hurt herself on something sharp. But she knew her sister better then that, plus working with weapons gave her hard hands. Or so Briella figured. "I think they used them to store things. Like the thing we crumbled. It is smart to have things to put things in, though I don't know why they would need so many! They are everywhere in this room." she counted at least ten that looked to once have doors, some still having some part of the door attached to them.

"Is there anything in that one?" she asked as she looked back towards her sister.

"I'm not sur... Ah!" She felt the warped plastic of the teflon serving spoon, "This feels... strange. Like an insect's skin." she held it up for Briella to see.
"Theres other things like it in here..." she shuffled around them. All warped, all with flat parts all... so strange.
"Ah!" she exclaimed as her hand made contact with a wire egg cutter, it's wires broken and pointy. It hurt!
She drew her hand back, feeling it with the other hand. It hurt, but was she injured? She felt a few drops of blood where it hurt the most, but that wasn't too bad...
She reached in to gingerly touch it.
"What is this? It feels like a comb, but I dont think I would like to place this in my hair..." She felt the hinge and the dip, the place where the hard boiled egg would have sat.
"And this part..." she felt the ridges, "Makes no sense."
She frowned in it's general direction, holding it by one hand, "Perhaps we should bring it back with us...? Maybe the Elder will have a use for it."

Briella took the spoon from Dyakida, turning it in her hands. She was trying to figure out exactly what it was made of when Dya cut her hand. She moved closer, taking Dya's hand in her own as she looked it over. It was only cut a little, bleeding, but nothing to serious. When Dya put her hand back in to get the item she looked closer at it.

"No, you are correct, this is not something that you would like to be in your hair or anywhere near your head. Are you okay? It doesn't look like it cut you that deep." she said looking at her sisters fingers once more. When she suggested bringing the item back home she thought about it. Although it would let Niebet know that the two of them had been there, but then again if the Elder could have use of the item then they should bring it back to her.

"Yes, I think we should bring it back to her. I have some cloth to wrap it in so that it doesn't cut anything else if you would like?" she said fishing out a piece of cloth from her bag that was big enough to wrap the egg cutter.

Dyakida inspected her wound with a finger. It stung, which meant it was bleeding. It hurt, which meant it was probably going to be infected. But she could still move her hand, which meant she didnt have to worry too much.
"... It isn't deep, no... but when we return home, I think I will have kishku take a look at it..." She frowned. She needed her hands. She took out a piece of cloth from her bag and wrapped up her hand, holding it out to Briella to check to make sure she had wrapped it right.

"We should explore further first, though." Which was probably a foolhardy idea.
She took Briella's arm.
"Are there more areas, Brie?"
She didn't actually want to stop exploring.

There was. A door leading to a somewhat collapsed hallway. An old staircase. A collapsed and decayed closet. A dark, dead place, once so full of life.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 20, 2012 6:04 pm

Briella nodded. Their elder would know best what to do with Dya's hands. Although she was sure it was nothing serious she wasn't the best when it came to healing and cuts and stuff. "Yes that would be best, that way she will make sure it isn't infected or anything. Though I'm sure it is okay." she watched her sister wrap her hand and after looking it over for a second declared that it was okay.

She was ready to go when Dya said she wanted to explore some more. She wasn't sure if that was the best idea, but at the same time she wanted to know more about this strange place. Placing her hand on Dya's she looked at the other areas they could go to. "Thee are a few more areas, a hallway that some of the walls have fallen and a staircase leading to who knows where are our best bets." she looked at the collapsed closet and decided that wasn't worth the efforts.

"All right... Let us see what more insane tools we find..." murmured Dyakida, no longer even twitching a finger at the phrase 'to see'.
"A... staircase?" curious. "Perhaps we should investigate before we become too tired?" She kept a gentle but firm hold on Briella's arm as she was led.
The place smelled of dust and rust and rot. It smelled of mold and age.

But another smell touched her nose.
"Briella? Do you smell that?" Dyakida paused a moment to sniff. Smell was not a sense that had improved with her blindness. "It smells... like..."
She wasn't sure. She inched forward, running her other hand along the bent wall beside her.
"I'm not sure, but... it doesn't fit with everything. It smells... newer?" actually it smelled quite bad. Faint, but bad. It wasn't dust, it wasn't old rot, it wasn't old. That was key.
"Perhaps we should be on the look out for someone else...? or what they may have left behind?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 21, 2012 10:43 am

Briella nodded, stair case it was. She took each step slowly, telling Dya when it was time to step at first but she stopped after the first few steps since Dya seemed to know where the rest of them were. When Dya asked if she smelled something Briella took a deep breath in. She smelled the same things she had been smelling the whole time, old, rot. Then again her sense of smell was never her strongest sense.

"All I smell is old..." she said watching her sister run her hand against the wall. "Your nose has found what my eyes cannot. Let's keep going, maybe we will find what it is you are smelling." she encouraged excited once again. It was only a few more steps till they were on the second level and there was a door to the right, and to the left. "Which way, left or right?" she asked still trying to smell whatever Dya was smelling.

"Maybe it is just mold then. Maybe I'm... smelling things."
She shrugged. Smells were tricky. Sometimes they lingered, sometimes they didn't. Often, they lied. Food where there was none, danger and safety where neither existed.
Here not there, there not here. No, Dyakida couldn't rely on her sense of smell. Hearing, yes. Touch, yes. Those were reliable. Those never lied.
So maybe it was nothing.
"I don't know where it came from, or if it even existed but...
She stopped listening. She had been certain... for a moment... that she had heard a low moan coming from the right. She didn't hear it again...
"Did you hear that...?" she said, quietly, "Lets look right."
The correct and cowardly thing to do would be to go the other way, save 'right' for last. But she couldn't do that! Not with Briella here, anyway.
"Do you see anything?" she whispered. She could swear she heard breathing.
Not like her and briellas. Not fast and excited.
Slow. harsh. In pain?
It was very faint.
"Anything at all?"
