He was glad that his friend agreed to the suggestion of food instead of arguing with him on the idea or trying to delve deeper into their previous subject, something that he didn't that he would be able to handle. If anything he just wanted to move forward for now, then they could part ways amiably, before Takoda left with that arrogant Leaf Tribesman that seemed to stir up the worst in the normally gentle Chal. Looking up at the sky for a moment when his friend asked if he wanted to catch something he seemed to be debating on it, "Doesn't look like it's going to snow again." He mused, which was a bonus. If they were going to catch something for food now was the time to do so, while the weather was still cooperating.

"We can try. I am sure that earth magic of yours will be good for catching something off guard." If he could floor a legendary beast with it then surely he could knock a normal sized animal off it's feet, right? He assumed so at least, "Come on then, let's see what we can find." He could do this, he would do this, he just hoped that p***k Jacinthus didn't show up to ruin the last little adventure that he would be having with Takoda. This was likely the last that they would travel around like this, just the two of them, and he wanted to enjoy it even if it were tinged with a melancholy feeling. Knowing the end of a story ahead of time sort of did that he thought to himself as he scooped up his shield, shifting it in his grasp before turning to look over at Takoda, "Shall we?"

Takoda forced an uneven smile on his face, at least they were still talking, even if it felt a bit forced. Moving to get up he picked up his cloak and clasped it around his shoulders, it was nice and heavy perfect for the cold weather here in the mountains. At the mention of his earth magic he couldn't help but give a grim chuckle.

"..Thanks...though I am starting to think I should of taken up Fire magic..it would of been very helpful in this cold climate. I...always hesitated because I ..was afraid of its destructiveness but it certainly would of been nice to know here in Zena." Takoda sighed, though he knew even if he had been given the opportunity to use fire he probably would never of used it unless he was desperate...and probably only to light a fire.

Watching Chalcedony's figure move to gather up his shield he felt him bite his lower lip a pang going through his chest. "Aye..yes we should probably work quickly since I don't want to get caught out there after dark. It gets cold enough in the cave...I couldn't imagine what it would be like outside." He shivered outwardly since he could picture what would happen to them if they were left out after dark. A pair of frozen bodies...that was what would be left of them.

Chalcedony gave a little nod of his head when Takoda mentioned how Fire based magics would have been useful in such a cold climate as the one that they were in now, "It would have been quite useful, but if you are afraid of it there is no reason to push yourself into it." He murmured, it was a bit like Takoda and bugs, Chal hadn't ever minded chasing them off so that his friend wouldn't have to deal with the creepy crawlies. He could only hope that the Leaf Tribesman would do the same, the idea that he might push Takoda in one direction or another was just something that annoyed Chal at the mere thought of it. Such thoughts were shoved aside though, he didn't want to think about it or worry about it, it wasn't his place to worry about Takoda's love life.

Looking on ahead, as if having a hard time looking directly at his friend, he started forward into the biting cold of Zena. How he would be happy to return home, for a number of reasons that seemed to be growing as time passed, "We will head for there." He said, pointing to a raised section in the land, they would be able to see something from there if there were any animals worth hunting in the nearby area he thought to himself. He hoped that there was something within their line of sight, it would be better then having to trudge about further from their temporary home until they found a place after all, "If we don't see anything we will decide what to do from there." They might be able to get some supplies from the Ice Tribe after all, at least enough to last until Sauti would be good, right? Though he doubted that he would be traveling back home with Takoda, would he?

Glancing at his friend for a moment he was all but positive that he would be going on his own. He didn't think that he had it in him to go with Takoda and his archer... No, he would likely be heading out on his own. It would be easier all around. Shaking his head, not wanting to think about it right now, he started toward the spot that had been picked out, wanting to get up on that perch to see what was all around them. It would be an easy enough climb, but one that reminded him how much he missed climbing in the massive trees back home.

Takoda gave a look to Chalcedony curious in how he described his reactions to the fire magic. Was...that how he came across? That he was afraid of fire magic? He supposed it did sound like he was frightened of using it, though part of him felt that this wasn't exactly what he had meant. Using fire magic...he wasn't afraid of using it, just hesitant. Fire was destructive, and burns hard to heal and painful...he just couldn't imagine himself using fire against anything alive.

Watching Chalcedony he could...see through his expressions on his face...the way he held himself that he was still bothered by the idea of him leaving without him. Takoda wished he could...soothe his worries, but knew better than to offer a rub on the back..it would only make matters worse.

Looking out from his hooded cloak he peered at the direction Chal was pointing, things had gotten so awkward between the two and he felt that this...was just making things more obviously awkward. Part of himself wanted to tell the shield barer that they should turn around and stop playing this charade, the other part wanted to cling to what ..he could of their friendship, even if he could feel it crumbling beneath them.

"Sounds good, we will try there first.." He replied with a small nod of his head. Following the foot steps of Chalcedony easily as they made their way towards the area.

Chalcedony gave a nod of his head, silently moving forward toward the hill that he'd pointed to, deciding that it was the best place for them to check out first. It took a bit of time to get to the top of the hill he looked out over the snowy terrain while stretched out quite a distance, the snow making it seem as though it went on forever. He lifted his shield to help to ward off the the brightness of the snow as well as the snow that was falling down on the two of them. As he did that he squinted to look across the terrain before looking over at Takoda for only a moment and then back again, "Do you see anything?" He asked of him, glancing from side to side. There had to be something out there, right?

A bit of movement, or at least what he thought was movement, drew his attention off to the side, "I... think I might see something..." He murmured, leaning forward just a little bit before he shook his head. It was hard to tell, hunting in the snow was a new thing to him. It was bright and everything seemed to sort of blend together into a giant sea of white. He couldn't wait to get home where things made sense, the weather was warm, the trees tall, and there was more then one color to the scenery, "I can't quite tell, everything in Zena seem to be white. Do you want to continue forward or no?" He asked, not looking at Takoda this time. It was obvious he didn't want to quit and run back to their shelter but at the same time he didn't want to risk either of them getting chilled or sick. Given that Takoda was a healer he would best know what it was that their bodies could and couldn't put up with, as such he would ask him what he thought about the situation.

Takoda gave a shiver and looked around, despite the fact they had traveled a ways from the cave, all around them was white a rock outcropping here and there..as well the few plants that managed to survive the harsh environment. Looking up a cloud of his own breath clouded his vision momentarily before he sighed spotting the dark ominous clouds that lined the horizon to their left.

"Ah...No..but I do see something we should avoid. Look." The shifter stated as he pointed up at the black snow clouds heading rather rapidly in their direction. As if on que the wind was picking up sending chills down the shifters spine. "I think we should turn back..before the weather decides that were weren't meant to get back alive. " Takoda stated with a nod of his head, pulling his cloak closer around his body.

"Come on, I am sure there are others we can trade for rations with back in the cave. I would rather see us make it back without frost bite if we could." Takoda murmured wanting to tug on Chalcedony to pull him with him, he hesitated and withdrew his hand before half turning to go back the way they came.

Something that they should avoid? Lifting his gaze toward the sky Chal saw the clouds that were rolling in and he gave a bit of a sigh. Well now, it looked as though those were going to cause their search for supplies to cease entirely, weren't they? They would be lucky if they got back to the cave before the snow started to fall he thought to himself before he turned to look over at Takoda who was suggesting that they headed back before the weather didn't let them go back. He gave a slow nod of his head, "Yeah, best we go back and try this again later." He murmured, following along after the Healer. It was sort of just him saying the right thing in this instance since he really didn't mean to do for them to come back out, not together. The next time he headed out he would be breaking away from the group to head for Jauhar on his own.

The Healer caught hold of him, tugging him along, and the guard allowed it since it was a nice feeling, familiar in a way, and for a time he meant to just soak it up. He was giving him up after all after today to the archer from Tale, but he meant to try to enjoy these last moments that they had together even if it was in cold cave in the middle of a land that wasn't their own. Just as the Healer said they were able to do a bit of trading for rations, enough that they would be able to get a good meal, sitting in front of a fire to warm themselves up. Once Takoda fell asleep he would start to pack so that he would be able to go when the weather broke for a while.
