The dark energy hit the duskull, the tendrils having little time to intercept it. They went back to attacking the darkrai.

The legendary made his displeasure known at being hit again with the tendrils, but stopped himself from using his claws, he summoned the beam again.

Dark energy blasted Mephistopheles again. The tnedrils continued to lash and thrash.

Darkest brought up his arms to shield his body from the attack. He couldn't understand, of all the dreams he witness, he rarely have ever seen such repitions. Why was this little ghost using the same attack over and over? True, effective, it couldn't be the only attack he knew.
Like electricity, it formed in his hands, dark and perplexing before he send it forth to ghost.

The shadow ball slammed into Mephistopheles and he was knocked back. Electricity crackled upon his arm, and he lunched it at the shadowy tendrils surrounding Darkest. The tendrils launched the electricity at the other tendrils in a vexing order before sending it even faster at the darkrai.

Eyes widen at the electrical charge that stung him, making his skin crawl uncomfortably as his muscles tighten involuntarily. Darkest growled under his breath and lurched forward, shadows covering his claws once again.

The darkrai slashed into Mephistopheles, and darkness erupted from the cut. Everything went black, fading to reveal the duskull bowing. "I concede. Thank you for the battle."

As dark faded away, it revealed the darkrai, sitting on the ground, legs visible and folded under him. A bewilder upon his face, glowing eyes wide in pure confusion and curiosity, like a newly hatched meowth presented with a moving toy. Darkest knew not what had happen, nor what matter of attack had just hit him, he felt the change in himself, something weakening, but it faded just as quick as it came.
The legendary, powerful and decorated in crimson markings, reduce to nothing but a curious child as he let out a chirping inquisiting noise with a tilt of his head to one side. "You...you surrender?"

Mephistopheles regarded the darkrai calmly. "Yes. I saw no reason to continue our battle. It's clear that I can still improve. I thank you once more for the battle." The duskull floated up to Lenore.

Darkest rose himself up for a moment, he floated forward to both human and pokemon, blue eyes narrow and looking over before he leaned back with an unearthly chuckle. " Please, find me once again when you believe yourself stronger. I...would like to try this again another time."

Mephistopheles turned to the darkrai, and nodded. "Of course. Good night, strong one." And with that, he and Lenore left for the area they had been sleeping in.
