Biography: The childhood friend of Rai Arisawa, Lina was diagnosed with a critical memory illness. Inoperable, it was said that it would slowly corrode the brain, causing her to forget her name, her friends, how to eat, and eventually, her brain would forget it's internal functions, killing her. Though ill, she realized that Rai was gone. She forcefully left the hospital and trailed him to Fuyuki. The only thing she forces herself to remember is to find Rai and return home. That is all that matters to her now...

Biography: Ai comes from a family of magi who are known for also possessing some form of telekinetic, or in rare cases like Ai, telepathic abilities. In Ai's case, she possesses both telekinetic and telepathic abilities in addition to her magecraft. Ai is unique among her family in that as far as they can tell, the full potential her abilities have yet to be tapped into. Sadly, before her family could find out just how great her potential was, they were killed in an accident when the bus they were riding in was hit by a train. Of all the passengers on the bus, only Ai survived and she very nearly didn't, with Ai having to spend nearly an entire year in the hospital under the constant supervision of the hospital staff. Once she was finally released from the hospital, she was taken in by a close friend of her family, specifically her father.

Other: Her telekinetic and telepathic abilities are currently very limited. Her telekinetic powers can only move and lift objects twice as heavy as what she can lift physically, and her telepathy is limited to allowing her to read a person's unguarded surface thoughts and send very brief (10 words at most) telepathic messages. Her magecraft consists of healing and water/ice-based magic. She also has a secret crush on Kaien, feeling that he might understand how she feels with him having lost his mother and barely even knowing his father. She has a jagged scar just below her heart from the accident where a mangled strip of metal had actually impaled and nearly killed her.

He works as a detective in the local police force, but has worked out a deal with his boss to allow him to work until early in the evening so that he can get home only a few hours after Ai returns from school

Other: He is secretly a magus and a member of the Mages Association, though he does not know either Rin or Waver Velvet personally. His magecraft allows him to imbue mundane weapons such as swords or bullets with enough magical power that they can actually be used to harm Servants. He also will sacrifice his own life without hesitation to protect Ai if he has to.
