And thus the food fight ensued. Kit lobbing egg bombs at his sister while ducking any fruit grenades. By the time he was out of ammo he was covered in fruit smashings and flour. He huffed a little and shook his mane. Thats when something hit him. He looked all around his Maw's beautiful kitchen to see it a complete mess.

"Oh no....when maw wakes up and sees this. She's...she's gonna be so sad," he looked sadly at the mess. If nothing else their mother kept a clean kitchen, saying a clean kitchen was a productive kitchen. He looked like he was ready to cry, disappoint his mother was the worst thing he could think of. And here he was having a food fight with his sister. He hung his head.

"I just....I just like cooking with Maw so much....and...I'm the only boy. Its kinda hard, what with Paw not bein here," he plopped down on his rump making a flour poof. "I'm sorry sis. I just...don't want to be left out."

Kit looked around the disaster that was their mother's kitchen. He listened to his sister talk about wanting to do something special. He could understand, and maw always tried to spend time with all of them. Hmm...he suddenly had an idea. He jumped back up onto his hooves and smiled.

"Hey! I've got an idear! Lets get this cleaned up real quick and I know just what we can make her! Together! We've got enough ingridents," he said looking over what was left from their food fight. "But we'll have ta be quick iffen we are gonna make it in time!"

Kit quickly started scrubbing and cleaning as quick as he could. He even lifted Barley up onto his back, being taller, to help get food off the walls. Finally he gathered up what remained of their ingredients. He showed her how to make cinnamon toast and fruit parfiet. He got the yougert from the fridge, being the only thing not thrown.

"What do we make for a drink?" he looked to his sister for advice on something that would go with the meal.

"I think so, maw always has extra," he dug through the fridge until he found the last bit of the milk and poured it for her. He helped his sister make the drink, heating up some water quickly to make the instand coffee, and had just put it on the table when the sound of hooves was heard.

Bon Appetit yawned a bit as she walked towards the kitchen. She needed to make breakfast for her children before they woke up. How surprised she was to find two of her brood in the kitchen, smiling, and a delicious smelling breakfast already on the table.

"Surprise maw!! Me an Barley made gew breakfast! All by ourselves!" he smiled at his sister. "Barley helped me make yer drink, its called a "lahtay" and found the cinnamon."

Bon Bon looked delighted with the surprise breakfast and pulled her two into a big hug. "Ah mon petits! You 'ave made me zo 'appy! 'ow nize to zee my leteel onez cookeng togezear."

Bon Bon almost had tears in her eyes. Her little ones were so thoughtful and worked well together. It was all a mother could ask for. She gave them each kisses on their cheeks. "Ah my leetell onez. Let me get you zome milk an you can 'ave your breakfazt wiz me."

She trotted to the fridge and discovered......it was mostly empty. "Quoi? I juz went zhoppeng. Hmm....I muzt 'ave forgot ze milk an eggz."

"A-a-a-ah don't worry maw! Me an Barley will fetch ya some more after breakfast! Don't worry!" he said quickly and went about stuffing his mouth to prevent any more words.
