"Not even a little? Knowing that I tried really hard and this area isn't my strong suit at all?" Rai asked in a pleading voice trying to see if he could sway her. He knew that she would know it was all a part of their little game.
He paused in mid-step when she asked if he thought she would leave him. His head dropped down and took a breath. "Yes I do. While no two girls are the same they all love to get a little romance here and there. Some more than others but none the less they do like it." Hell even his mother did.

Ryl shrugged. "You do just fine figuring things out. It's only because you have this idea in your head that females all have the same standards on romance and if you don't fulfill those standards it somehow makes you a failure and I'll walk away in disgust or something like that," she said conversationally.
Though she did mean it. Rai was typically a confident male in a lot of areas, but romance wasn't one of them and finding himself faced with it it seemed to make him awkward and unsure. It was kinda cute sometimes, and other times she just rolled her eyes and let him stumble through it. How else would he learn?

Rai let out a sigh and not knowing what to really say he turned and continued to the little area he had marked out for them. That meant they had to walk past the trees and closer to bridge since he had walked further down to look into the water. Not wanting to get the blanket wet in case he fell in. He guessed she was semi right with her answer. He didn't hold all females to the same idea of what romance was cause he knew they were all different. He just had no clue how to pull off being romantic and what the other ways were.

Ryl raised an eyebrow as the blanket came into view; her forehead muscles were getting an excellent workout this evening. If she kept this up she'd have such a strong head that she could probably entering a headbutting competition, or some other such nonsense that males liked to do to prove they were macho. She'd get a kick out of defeating them and watching them sob over losing to a girl.
Grinning a little, Ryl had to pull her thoughts back to the present again. "We partying human style or something," she asked, nodding towards the blanket.

"In a way yes. Just wait till you touch the blanket and you might understand why I decided to go this way. One could say perhaps it could have a later use hmm?" Rai was giving her a hint as to why he had the blanket it. It served as a double purpose. Something to help make a nice date evening and than softer bedding for their den. They could have more leaves and than throw the blanket it over. Their bed would than become a soft and well padded area.
He stopped and sat by one of the corners of the blanket and watched her. He wanted to see how she would react to the rest of it.

Ryl slowly stepped onto the blanket, gauging its feel. "Hmmm, it is nice," she admited. "Of course if you want I can totally ruin the moment with a speil on ways it could be thought of as unpractical, but I think I just inherited my father's cynical nature and knack of trouble-causing on that one," she said with a slight upward quirk of the left corner of her mouth.

"Do you want to go on and on about how its unpractical? Or would you like to see what else I have cooked up for you?" Rai asked. He could do either one she wanted but he hopped she would choose the second option. It would just be better for the date.
He moved up beside her brushing his side against hers and kissed her. He truly loved her and was hoping he was doing a good job of showing it.

Ryl laughed and leaned back, playfully nipping her mate under his jaw. "Hmmm, why don't we see what else you've got in your arsenal to seduce me," she teasing, eyes alight with amusement. "I'm pretty sure my lectures on unpracticality can always wait for another day."

He shivered at the n** but nodded his head. He snuck in a quick n** on her neck before padding over to the basket. He picked it up in his jaws and then carried it back over to her. He set it down and said "Okay close your eyes."

Ryl eyed the basket with just a hint of misgiving. Like her father she was a straightforward girl and not all that fond of surprises, but she was willing to go along with it if it was part of Rai's plan.
"Okay," she sighed, though still had a slight smile on her face, and shut her eyes.

Rai set the basket down on the blanket once she had her eyes closed. He eyed her over for a moment to really make sure they were closed before popping the lead open. He rummaged threw it looking for something he should give her. Instead of going for food he pulled out the trinket he had obtained for her. It was a necklace and not just any necklace but one that made him think of her. He stood up and slipped it over her head and on to her neck than stood back. "Okay you can open them now."

Ryl opened her eyes and looked down at the necklace. "It's pretty," she said, watching the way the light danced around inside the blue stone. It appeared to be a shade just a touch lighter than her fur.
She brought a paw up and examined the chain. "This might have to go though. I'd break it and lose the whole thing just romping around someday." She let the necklace fall back down. "We'll find something a little sturdier to use later," she said, giving Rai a smile.

Rai's heart began to be faster and his tail wagged behind him. She liked it. That was perfect. It made him feel a hundred times more confident. " I was thinking the same but didn't have time to look for something else. Maybe leather to hold it? That stuff is pretty sturdy. What do you think?"

Ryl nodded, a considering look on her face. "We could easily get that. Granted humans use all sorts of strange things these days to cure their own leather, but we can just save a hide from a deer and cure it ourselves, and cut a good strip from that."
She gave her head a small shake and looked back at Rai. "So, was this your entire plan," she asked teasingly.

"Yes it is easy to come by but I wasn't sure if you would want that or something else so I decided it was better just to wait," Rai said with confidences.
"Of course it isn't. Next you have an option of eating something or going on a walk to a place that I found and saving the food for later." Rai had a plan and either way she was going to get a show. She just didn't know it.
