It took him a good few to finally compose himself as well. Watching the prey beasts and predators alike scatter was more than enough to thankfully have known this small area for a short enough time to find this ridge. It'd be ok for them, until someone found them out, hopefully it was after the storm cleared. For now, the sound of it patting and the water dripping down the rock, watching the sky further out darken. Watching. Til he felt a snout burrow in to his chest. Unexpectedly, enough to try and catch his breath after.

"The sky god must have needed to shed some tears...." Something his parents had told him of, a bedtime story. Looking down at her as he curled his arms tightly round her, loose enough so she could move if she had wanted. "Only the gods know when to expect extreme weather, It's ok though. It will pass soon." He hoped. Then continued to look away. A few minutes of silence and it was broken by her apologizing which Kairos just couldn't understand. His ears went up, then looked down at her, lifting a paw to tilt her chin up. "What are you sorry for?" His voice was sweet, soft, and with this closeness couldn't be helped. Softly brushing her cheek with the top of his paw. He was a knightly cheetah.. and this was just what he did. Protect. Why would she need to apologize then?

"I doubt your the one who made the rain come. If you are- I'm the one who should be saying sorry then." Trying to lighten the mood with a joke or two.

“I.... hope you're right.” His voice was a comfort in the storm. If she had been alone when the storm hit, she knew she would have been more of a mess. Her ears were flattened back as he brushed her cheek. He had been so kind to her despite her weakness.

“I've been a burden to you, but you are still so kind to me.” She said. With his joke, she gave a smile.

“If I had that kind of power, I would be scared of myself.” She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

"It's easy to be kind to someone so beautiful." He remarked and gave a wide smile. "If I was burden with your kind all the time- I would be cripple but happy." All the sweetest things one could say, it was just in his nature to be kind to females.

Then another clap hit, he knew it probably wasn't the best idea- and probably very unknightly of him. If this storm wasn't gunna let down, he needed to distract her or take away the thought of the storm. He could just hear it rumble and when another clap was about to hit.

"Don't be scared. I'm here." He whispered, and tilted her head with his paw kissed her..

Then the clap hit- hopefully it was enough to distract her from it- it was one of the worst he had seen... He finally pulled away when the thunder stopped and it was just the rain pattering on top of the rock that concealed them. "Sorry..." His cheeks were slightly flushed. If it had been for selfish reasons, he'd understand a slap- but if he could distract her from being scared. That was purpose enough...

She could feel her cheeks redden from the remark. Her beautiful? No one ever called her that.

When the thunder roared, she almost jumped. Before she could react though, she felt him moving her head. She opened her eyes, shocked by what was happening. Her heart started pounding. She had never felt like this.

Her instincts told her to pull away, but she didn't budge. Instead she closed her eyes. When he pulled away, the thunder stopped. She opened her eyes, but quickly diverted her eyes. “You have no reason to be sorry.” She said quickly.
