Von was so nervous about meeting Kenny that she'd cut morning classes. She'd gone straight to the Aviary and had plucked at her guitar. Most of the songs were ones she'd quit playing when she'd thought Kenny wasn't interested in her, half were songs they'd worked on together.
Soon as the sun was high in the sky she started pacing the guitar forgotten in her hand. Would he even show?

Kenny didn't have the luxury of skipping his morning classes. All he needed was to get detention again. He sighed as he stared at the chalk board. Vonali wasn't there... and that... he didn't know if it amused him and mad him happy... or if it made him feel she was ducking him... He wondered vaguely if she would just skip out on him all together...
As soon as they were let out he heaved his bag onto his shoulder and started toward the aviary. He climbed all the stares and right before entering he stopped to take a deep breath...he smelled birds... Somehow... that didn't make him any calmer.
Carefully he walked in. He saw her and paused. Just watching her for a moment he spoke. "I honestly didn't think you would come when i saw you werent in class." He was in tight control of his emotions... He wasn't going to have an out burst like last time.

At the sound of his voice she whirled around an lifted the guitar as if it was her wand. Feeling like a dork she lowered the guitar and shrunk it so she could place it in her pocket. " Not the first time I've skipped classes. And funny I'd had the same thought about you."
She wasn't sure how to handle the coldness in Kenny's voice, usually that was her role. " Look. I think we've had a huge miscommunication from last year and I think we need to clear that up and be blunt with each other. The only boy I've thought of as more than a business deal has been you." There she'd gone first and took the chance and admitted she like-liked him.

Kennedy walked over to greet one of his favorite owls. He pet the bird as he listened and then laughed... "I was the one that invited you remember..." He raised an eyebrow in a 'you really didn't think that one out did you...' kinda look.
He left the owl and leaned against the wall. "We split von... There is no miscommunicating that... It was what was best at the time... but you agreed so easily... You agreed as if it didn't take another thought... and then just like that... i was nothing but a fun little go... then you went and slept with Quill" His gaze narrowed. His heart hurt to say that. "Business or not.... sleeping with someone, especially when you say it doesn't matter, hurts me more than you can imagine... "
He frowned. His voice was clipped. "So you want to be blunt... I made the decision to ask for a split... because our dating was putting you in an awkward position with Marc... Now Marc is avoiding you and i have taken his position of smitten puppy while there are numerous boys just lining up for my place..." He shook his head. "We broke up because i thought it would help you... and you agreed... but now there are other guys von.... and i was forgotten..."

Von smirked at his look and shrugged. His next words froze her on the spot. Readily agreed, for Marc, what?! Her shock gave way to disbelief as he kept going. Her anger flared but she figured that would not help the matter. Plus at the end she finally understood. He was jealous!
She stepped up next to him and gently placed a hand on his arm. " Let me start my end of this by saying, you were not forgotten." She stared into his eyes making sure that bit got through before continuing. "Ok from the end of last year, you brought up the breaking up thing, so I figured that's what you wanted and far be it for me to hold back Casanova. Secondly, it was in the common room and it wasn't like that. And as soon as I woke I shoved him to the floor. Hard. And I've been making his life difficult ever since."
At this point she started to pace slightly, she wasn't used to being this true to her emotions and she kept trying to talk herself out of being rude. " I didn't mean for you to be hurt by any of this and frankly I figured you'd moved on to one of your many admirers and didn't care about me. And I think that's were our miscommunication is.

He watched her carefully and when she put her hand on his arm he frowned and started to protest."Vonali..." But after seeing her a little stirred up he decided it wasn't a good fight to pick right then. And then he scoffed. "Hold back Cassanova? Von...The only girl i want to be my girlfriend is standing in front of me." He reached out when she started to pace and put a and on either of her arms so she would have to face him.
"I know you told me not to worry about marc... but he is important to you... I know he is. And so i couldn't put you in that position... That's why i requested a break up... " He shook his head. "I know... those were all the wrong reasons... Can you forgive me?"
He looked in her eyes for a moment and then shook his head again. "You and i will never see eye to eye on this Quill thing... I think if it was anyone else i would be able to be rational...but because its Quill i'm always going to be a lot jealous... " He glanced at her back to her... "But i will try to move on... if you will be mine again... "

Von stared at Kenny as he declared that he wanted her as his girlfriend. She was about to protest as he touched her but instead just stared up at him. As he finished his piece she felt butterflies in her stomach. " Marc may have been important once but I'm ready to let go and move on. You're forgiven, though I'm not sure why you want it. As for Quil, there's no need to be jealous."
She stepped forward closing the gap between her and Kenny and gave his cheek a quick peck. " And yes. I'll be your gal again, if you're sure that's what you want."

Kennedy pulled a hand up and tucked a loose hair behind her ear. "Im glad to hear that... i really am... but...dont give up on him... that would make all my hard work over the summer for nothing... Don't cut marc out completely ok... " He smirked. "Ok now that i have said that... never again will i say anything like it again." He dropped the Quill subject.
After she kissed his cheek he pulled her into a hug. "Im glad we are back together... "He stepped back a moment and smiled. "You skipping afternoon classes too? Or would you like to walk with me to class... " He smiled and held out his hand. "Come on... its just potions...." With a smirk he scooped up his bag and stuck his hand back out.

Von raised and eyebrow at him and shrugged. "We'll see how things go once I corner him." She gave a smirk as he hugged her. So life was about to get interesting again. She hadn't made plans for the afternoon too preoccupied by the thought of this meeting. As he held out his hand she rolled her eyes and grasped it. "Fine, I'll show you where class is, geez still getting lost are we?" She winked and squeezed his hand. " Though I really do detest potions. Sit by me? Maybe then I won't bolt for the door." She chuckled as they went down to the basement.
