He sighed and nodded a little, rubbing her back. "Perhaps you're right." He hadn't even thought of Val being taken as well. Though Valerio would have been another foal to carry, and a winged one at that, the boy could fight like fury when cornered. However they had taken Losa away, it would have been doubly hard with her brother there as well. "Strange to think being in the cold mountains would have saved him from anything," he added with a wry twist to his lips. "I promised to take you and Losa out there too, didn't I? I wonder if she still wants to." ((Sorry it took so long to answer! Midshift always screws with mah head. @.@; ))

(Like I"m really one to talk on the subject of late tags *rolls eyes* you know you never need to apologize to me.) Dante knew just the right places to press so that Alu-lote relaxed more. “I know but it was at least something I could think about.” She looked back at him and blinked. “I have no idea if she’d want to go or not. I haven’t even brought it up with her since ..” Alu-lote trailed off trying to think. “Well it seems like forever. If you’d like you can ask her. She should be around the edge of the village sometime around sunset. Reo and Mei won’t bug me until I come home so that they don’t risk upsetting Losa at all. And Luin is well. Occupied. ” Alu-lote knew Reo would make certain of it.

He was glad he still remembered enough to help her relax more. Some things, he thought with a small smile, don't change. He glanced up at the sky, noticing the deepening red spreading slowly from the west. "I think the sun might be making its way down soon. But perhaps.." he nuzzled her neck gently, "...there is time..." Dante smiled suggestively into her eyes, "...to reacquaint ourselves?" He wanted to see his daughter, oh yes. He wanted to meet the new Azrein of the village, and he even wanted to see that strange human Reo again. But this was a moment that he did not want to lose.(( Bow chicka wow-wow. ;D After your reply with.. um, her response? xD Want to skip ahead to going ahead to the village? I'm not sure when to do a "OHMAHGERD PREGGERS" but I feel like either continuing with Losa and Val in a new thread or skipping to the same in this one would be good. ))

(Well time skip with Val home after meeting with pregnancy in effect?) Lost in his eyes she couldn’t help but blush when the full implications of what he wanted settled down on her. “Oh Dante!” Honestly he was the most tenuous of any stallion she had ever met. Perhaps that was why he was the only one she had ever let get so close to her. She giggled. “You know full well that I will always make time for you.” It was true. Even Reo would step aside to give Alu-lote time with Dante. It was something Alu-lote loved and liked to take advantage of when the opportunity arose. Losa would be able to find them when she decided to come out and make herself known; hopefully it wouldn’t be for a while yet thought. There were somethings that Alu-lot didn’t want her daughter to see..
Sometime later Alu-lote bright eyed and bushytailed was waiting just to the south of the village again waiting for Losa. Reo was alerted to Dante’s arrival and was getting the stables ready to have more company. Luin was apparently whining but who knew why. Probably having others around eating her share of the treats was annoying to her.

Dante came up behind Alu-lote and laid his head across her neck for a moment in a reassuring way, though he wasn't sure if he was reassuring her or himself at this point. He was unaccountably nervous to see his daughter again. Some small part of him, no matter how fiercely he tried to deny it, was absolutely convinced Losa would blame her father for what had happened to her. He was at least clean and energetic now, restlessly folding his wings back only to open them slightly again to resettle them. After doing it twice he shook his head and forced his wings to stay still. "Do you think I should stay here or watch at a distance?" he asked. "I don't want to surprise her too badly... I'm sure I can find a place to wait and watch, if you think that would be better."(( Kk. I'll have Val fly in after things get going. :3 ))

“Dante she is so used to seeing me that I think she might enjoy the change of company.” Alu-lote rolled her eyes and nudged him with a wing. “Really now, hiding from your own daughter? She doesn’t take after me that badly.” She was just joking but she hoped that it made Dante feel better. She was feeling rather giddy herself better then she had in a while in fact. Just having Dante back even if for a little while was amazing and made her feel like the sun was bursting out of her cest. “Oh look there.” She looked to see her daughter coming up toward them having circled the village when coming out of the forest. She looked so pretty all grown up. Alu-lote smiled for her daughter as she always did but this time there was real joy in her smile. Losa approached feeling a bit weary of her mother standing next to another Azrein. She had considered turning back but then she had recognized her father. What would he think of her now? Surely her mother had told him what happened, or what she thought happened. Losa wondered if her father would pester her with endless questions as her mother had. Coming up the mare was surprised. Her mother looked genuinely happy. Losa hadn’t seen that face in a long time.

Despite himself, Dante smiled at Alu-lote's attempt to calm him. And then he spotted the young mare coming up the path towards them. He stared at her, astounded by how much she looked like her mother. Little Losa, now not so little, beautifully mixing them both together - she most closely resembled her mother, true, but he could see a little bit of himself too. Just enough. A genuine smile came to his lips, and he took a step foreword. "So perfect is the beauty of her face that is begets in no wise any sigh of envy, but draws round her a clear line of love, and blessed faith, and gentleness," he said, quoting a poem he used to tell her when she was young. "Losa. I'm so happy to see you!"((It's a line from a poem by Dante Alighieri. ;D ))

“Merely the sight of her makes all things bow: Not she herself alone is holier Than all; but hers, through her, are raised above. From all her acts such lovely graces flow that truly one may never think of her without a passion of exceeding love.” Losa finished the poem with a soft smile. Trust her father to remember her favorites from when she was younger. She walked up and nosed her father on his neck. “I missed you too father.” She relaxed just a bit. She hadn’t been certain what would happen but the simple acceptance of seeing her just as she was made her much happier. Who knew perhaps he wouldn’t even ask her any of the questions her mother had.Watching the exchange between the pair Alu-lote marveled at how well the two instantly got along after not seeing one another for so long. A part of her was jealous, but that was small and insignificant compared to the amount of love and joy she felt at seeing her daughter and mate smiling and happy. “Mm I remember that poem. Of course every time you said the line involving bowing Losa would look at Val hoping to see him at least nod his head.” Giggling she watched Losa shake her head embarrassed. It was so cute; and nice to see some things hadn’t changed.

He laughed a little, nuzzling his daughter back. "You've grown up well, Losa. I'm almost surprised you remembered that little poem - but you always did pay better attention to those than your brother did!" He wasn't going to promise that he wouldn't ask any questions about what had happened, but he knew it'd be a bad idea to open up their reunion that way. He grinned at his mate over his daughter's head, seeing her smile. "And you don't have to worry about Val, either. Since you're both fully grown, he can't just sit on you anymore - or at least, you'll be able to run from him should he try." The younger stallion was a bit of a clown, after all; he sensed something wrong, and of course the way to fix it was to do something funny. Dante shook his head a bit. He wondered if Val would sense anything different about his sister anyway. He hoped the two could still talk the way they used to. It wasn't like there was any other siblings to count on.

“I’m glad you think so father.” She accepted the nuzzling looking pleased with herself. Reciting that poem had gotten her through a lot of nights after she had first been taken. “Well he can try and sit on me but I can’t promise I won’t kick back. I’m stronger than I used to be.” She rolled her eyes doubted se was stronger than Val, but she was certain she would be faster. She had been raised to go more for speed and intelligence then strength. Talon and the others had made certain she was not one to be taken lightly. She looked small and delicate and could use it to her advantage.Laughing she could just imagine her children fighting like they used to Val would end up on top but might concede just to make Losa feel better. He really was a sweet boy. She wondered what he looked like now that he was all grown up. She tried to picture it and had no idea. Perhaps he would come soon enough and she would have the answer to her question. She sent a request to her bonded and got a swift affirmative. “Reoakee and the others are out of the shop shall we head to the garden behind the shop? There is some fruit on the trees right now, the pickings are a bit slim, but there are apples.”

Dante did his best not to smirk, but Losa's expression was absolutely priceless. Maybe it'd be good for those two to get into it - the younger mare could knock her headstrong brother down a peg or two. Val, like his father, wasn't especially fast (faster than Dante, but that wasn't much to be proud of), and he couldn't mess with the sister he couldn't catch. And if Dante was reading that look right, she had obviously learned speed from somewhere... or someone. He wondered for a moment if it would be the same person who had taken her. If so, perhaps something good had come of it; it was clear enough Losa was confident in her own abilities, and being able to defend herself was no small feat when you looked as sweet and innocent as she did. "...Apples?" he asked, eagerly glancing at Alu-lote. "Never slim pickings when there's apples around!" Valerio beat his wings hard for a moment, angling himself towards another thermal. He just knew he'd be able to catch up to his old man this way. He'd left a full day behind, but if he knew his dad's style, Dante couldn't have been there for more than half a day ahead of him. This high up (higher then Dad liked to go, for some reason, even though he blended in with the sky so much better that way), he could spot anything for miles and miles. Val noticed a small group of three Azrein a few miles ahead and laughed. "That's definitely Dad, and Mom - and wow, look at little sis! She sure grew up!" He began his lazy decent. Always land in style. If they couldn't spot him coming in, well, they deserved to get shocked. Of course, they were going to get shocked anyway. He was a pretty good looking stallion, if he did say so himself.

Losa laughed at her father’s comment. It was so very much like him. He could have all the food in the world before him, but he’d still prefer an apple to almost anything else. It was so simple and yet so perfect. Losa had to admit it sounded good. She hadn’t been back to the shop since she had been taken as a foal though and was a bit nervous about it. Her mother said the human and others would be gone, but still the idea of going made her a bit nervous. A black circle coming from overhead made her cringe and look up. A stallion was coming down and Losa moved closer to her mother to give the male room to land. She blinked not recognizing the male at first, until she saw the dagger mark on his shoulder. When did her brother get so big? “Val?” She looked at her father for confirmation.
Alu-lote was smiling at her beloved comment when she noticed the shadow. Looking up she smiled. She’d know her son if she had not seen him since he was blanket. Those markings on his body were so distinctive she wondered how he managed to get his mane done up like he did. Perhaps there were some humans in the mountain who Dante and Val visited? She doubted it but wasn’t certain. Perhaps Reo had rubbed off on Dante more than she thought and he had come to trust other humans? She used a wing to wave at her son and gave him a huge smile of welcome. Waiting until he was safely on the ground she decided to start talking to him. “We’re headed back to the shop for some apples. Care to join us?” It would give him a chance to cool down on the way back. He really did have such a fancy landing, perhaps Dante had been teaching him a few tricks?

Dante looked up and suppressed a sigh as he watched Val's colorful landing. At least the boy was doing it without spilling headfirst into the snowbanks, like those amusing incidents when the young stallion had still been learning to land without tripping over himself. He supposed it wouldn't be appreciated to reference those times, so he contented himself by only saying. "Good job on the landing," with a bit of a smirk. He glanced at Alu-lote and Losa, happy to see his daughter didn't look alarmed at her brother's arrival, and his mate seemed to positively glow.Valerio laughed, not missing his dad's expression. "Thanks, Dad," he said with a snort. He pranced foreword in high energy, and nuzzled his mother's neck. "Mom, it's great to see you! And of course I'll join you, I didn't come all this way just to say hi and leave again!" He grinned. "Seriously though, apples sound great. Did you know there aren't any apple trees up in the mountains where we were? I think that must be one of the worst things about the place!" Then he looked over at his sister, wondering for a moment why she hung back. He contented himself by waving a wing at her as he walked to her, and gently bopped his forehead to hers, just as he had countless times when they were foals, and a little bit of teasing. He just couldn't resist. "Hey there, little sis, any guys messing with you that I need to beat up?"

Laughing lightly at her son’s jovial attitude she realized how much she missed this spark of joy her family brought to her. “Of course I’d never assume that of you, but how could I not offer my son some food when he looks big enough now to eat a whole tree?” She giggled. “Well according to Reoakee’s books only some plants grown in certain altitudes. So of course apples wouldn’t live on the mountains. There’s nothing wrong the mountains, except that they are too far away for you and your father to come and visit me more.” She threw him a fake pout. And watched him head butt his little sister.Losa felt him press his head against hers and smiled pressing back lightly. Her blue eyes looked into his but they only held a half the fraction of joy they used to when she was a foal. “The only guy that needs beating up in my life is you brother.” She knocked her head against his a bit more before pulling back and moving toward her father so she could join the group more and got get some apples. “I’ve gone a bit tougher than when you used to sit on my head and I’m not about to relieve the experience as an adult.” She gave him a cocky little smile before turning and running toward the place that used to be her home. She was sure the rest of her family would follow anyd moment. How had the stables changed? Was the garden the same?

Val laughed at his mother. But for a moment, as he stared into his sister's eyes, the blankness he saw there truly scared him, though he did not let his surprise come out. He had to admit he was glad she was obviously tougher, but there was something he was missing, she was really different. Something was unaccounted for. After Losa had turned and begun to run, he glanced at his father, who nodded slightly and gestured after the running mare with a fluffy wing. Val snorted softly, running after his sister and calling a somewhat cocky challenge to her. "Hey! I haven't been home in forever, and YOU'RE gonna beat ME back?! I don't think so!" He knew that look. His dad would fill him in later.Dante watched Val chase Losa ahead and shook his head, glad Val could pick up a cue like a pro. He doubted Losa would appreciate her situation being discussed in open forum. But at least the younger stallion would play along. He smiled at Alu-lote, resettling his wings and following his children at a somewhat more sedate pace than the headlong race those two had chosen. "The more things change, the more they stay the same, huh? They always chased each other."((I am so sorry I suck so much. ;A; ))
