"Not much for silverware and dishware. I do however like candles and candle holders. Something decorative though, I have enough candle holders I use. So a decorative pair to just hold some candles would be nice." He wouldn't risk ruining such items with candle wax, and having to remove it. "Mmm, would I be able to drop by tomorrow and see what candle holders you have?" He might just be finding another place to shop, another way to feed his...appreciation of candles, read this to mean hobby or addiction.
"I don't know, I think the age showing would depend on how much age the piece is showing and how much decoration it hides. I'll have to see, you have me interested now." He said flashing the other a smile. This could be a nice arrangement, he might just stop by often and fill his room and the house, with nice candle holders. Yes, Alexandre had certain taste and liked to feed his likes. Maybe he'd even find other things to his liking and be in the mood to spend on more things.
"I can arrange that. I'll bring some with me when I show up. Just don't go expecting some master piece." He was good, he knew that, but he also wouldn't compare himself to the true masters of art. He wasn't that arrogant of his skills. "I could also bring what I'm working on in school, for an experiment and practice with oils." It was coming along nicely, he was still a long way from considering it done, but he was happy with how it was turning out so far.

Jett couldn’t help but playfully roll his eyes. "Oh, please. I'm sure you're just the modest type, Alex. You're probably the next Monet. If you want to stop by, I'll be there after three. It's pretty easy to find. There are a handful of antique stores around Destiny City, but I'm not even biased when I say that mine's the best. Jack—my boss," he explained, "Has an eye for antiques and the heart to match. Guy's crazy about the place, so no matter what you come in for, he'll work his a** off to make sure you get it."
…Or make Jett work his a** off to go dig it up out of their storage unit out back.
"If you want, I can pull out a few pieces, see if there's nothing that doesn't catch your fancy. And, if there isn't," psh, like that ever happened, "We have a vast number of affiliates who specialize in different collections. They can procure just about anything you like, given enough time."
Which was probably true about most things, but the particularly interesting thing about antiques was that they weren't getting any younger, and it wasn't like more of them were popping out every day.
It pleased Jett to be talking about something he loved over something he just liked and-slash-or tolerated. Art was interesting, sure, but antiques? That's where Jett's heart was.

"I may be modest but not modest enough to hide my skills if they were equal to Monet." Came the counter from the shorter blond, followed by a rolling of his own eyes and a shake of his head. "That sounds good, I'll be there after your arrive." And see to it that Jett help him with some candle holders.
"Just pull out an candle holders. If anything catches my attention along the way I'll be sure to let you know. I can't think of anything else though." So he'd stick to candle holders for now. If something did catch his attention, and he wanted it, e would have it by the end of the day. He might work and live separate from his parents but they did still pay for nearly everything, he couldn't manage enough work hours to make good money. School, school work, and other things kept him quite busy really and his parents understood that fully.
"I've never dealt with antiques before, so I can't think of anything else that I'd like. I don't know my styles and time periods either, it's a whole new thing to me. So I'll trust you with pulling any silver candle holders and with anything else I may stumble upon." Like he trusted Jett in battle he would trust him now.

Quirking his head to the side, Jett just shrugged. "Most people who come in to buy antiques have no idea what they're getting themselves into. They want 'something old' or 'something pretty'. I like to imagine I've got a good eye." He seemed thoughtful for a moment, trying to imagine Alexandre's style. It would have to be elegant—classy. Somewhat sublime, probably, and yet capable of blending in.
Silver was a good route to go; it had the ability to do next to everything. It was charming without being gaudy, attractive without being overbearing. Silver was modest route to go.
Jett, Jett liked gold, himself.
"I'll pull some things out. If they're not your taste," he shrugged, "No big deal. Antiques aren't for everyone, and sometimes it takes some time to find the right piece. You might be surprised with the number of candle holders I've seen in my day, though. Seems like everyone and their mother had half a dozen just lying around."
At the very least, that meant they always had something in stock, though. Even if they could be a hassle.
Though they spoke of candle holders, he was already admiring the intricate detail put into the artwork on display in front of them. He had no artistic talent himself, but he was not ignorant enough to the world around him to know when art ought to be appreciated.

Had Alexandre a clue what was going through the others mind, the evaluation, he'd have smiled. Jett was right, on every point, and Alexandre did prefer silver to gold, silver blended in more while still being there and adding that je ne sais quoi. "Most people, indeed, I'd like to think I am not quite as vague as most. Though perhaps I am." He knew he wanted something that wasn't bulky or too eye catching, at least not on first glance.
"I could see why they would, considering the lack of electricity. But also if you look at art how many household scenes show a candle holder or more." He said thinking of several pieces he knew of where it showed a figure, or two, in their home, maybe a pet, and a candle holder or two in the background somewhere. "I'm sure you can figure my style. I am a rather firm believer that our uniforms reflect us in some manner. So I'd say to go by that if you need help." Yup, elegant, not too over the top and large, but classy.
Alexandre also was admiring the art as they spoke, though he didn't mention the art. He settled for taking it in and enjoying it. He really ought to buy a piece of two for his bedroom, something to enjoy which wasn't painted by his own hand. It was a good example of impression work - very nice. He'd likely get to talking, about the art, when they got to the older styles to the Renaissance.

Their uniforms reflected them in some manner? Well, what the hell was Remarque, some gaudy street performer?
…Well. Actually, Alex might have had a point.
Flashy but still classy, bold but still sleek.
…Maybe.
Some might argue that Remarque's outfit was particularly flamboyant, or, according to Pippin, made him look like a 'flaming homosexual'. Which, Jett was not, and if anyone doubted it, they could just borrow Raven for a moment and as her.
"Maybe," Jett answered thoughtfully. "Though I've met a few who might argue against that concept." To anyone listening in, he was certain that their conversation must have sounded odd, at best. He changed subject, perhaps simply because he didn't want to test his luck by openly discussing uniform attire. Naturally, he assumed he and Alex were clever enough to do so in a discrete manner, however he wasn't particularly keen to press his luck any more than he already had.
For this week, at least.
"So this," he nodded to the art work. "This is more your style?"
He could only assume such, given that Alex had yet to offer some insult or jibe to the pieces on display. This art was, at least, obviously art. Jett could easily identify the subject matter and didn't have to look for too long to understand what the painting was trying to portray.

Some might indeed argue them, he was sure some would in fact, but he would simply question them. Did it somehow reflect something about them, and to take time to really think about it, and then answer the question. Because even if it didn't seem like it at first he was sure that somehow the uniforms they were bestowed did in fact somehow reflect them, maybe it wasn't obvious at first, whether in some manner that may not at first be seen and understood or in fact were like his and obviously suited him. But that wasn't a discussion to continue, as he picked up the change in topic. Although he felt they were safe enough, though they surely would confuse anyone listening in, he figured Jett though it best to change topic and so followed suit.
"It is, this and the older art. I do like the rich colors, and texture, of Renaissance art as well. Perhaps it would be odd but I also appreciate Gothic style architecture, like what's seen in Europe, and the Roman and Greek styles as well." Perhaps it was an odd mix, maybe not, but they certainly weren't the same styles and differed in various manners.
"Truth be told I'm hoping to go to France one day." He didn't know when, though he was taking French lessons to help for whenever that day came, but he knew it would happen. "Simply to see the Louvre and Versailles." Though he was also sure to do his far share of shopping, after all there was the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. A trip to Paris maybe this coming summer, not likely though.

"Sounds like a good plan," Jett said, acknowledging with a slight nod. "I'd like to go to Europe one day."
He'd wanted to go a long, long time ago, but there were things that kept him in Destiny City beyond simply the Dark Mirror Court. He'd like to take a trips to the museums there. Europe was the place with all the good history. Nothing against America or anything, it was simply that Europe was older and therefore littered with much more impressive antiques. Europe was a place filled with history, and one day, he'd have liked very much to experience it firsthand. "I don't think there's anything wrong with appreciating any of the old styles."
He preferred Gothic style architecture to Renaissance art or explicitly Roman and Greek styles. "I suppose it gives you a bit of class if you can appreciate the richness of it all."
Some might call it all gaudy or obnoxious; Jett had a particular distaste for the embellishments in Renaissance art. The odd proportion and strange coloring. But, then again, he didn't necessarily care for much of any sort of art.
"If you do end up going, you'll have to tell me how it is. Don't think I know anyone who has made it much further than Destiny City, so it might be nice to find out if other parts of the world are as nice as they paint them out to be." pieces, see if there's nothing that doesn't catch your fancy. And, if there isn't," psh, like that ever happened, "We have a vast number of affiliates who specialize in different collections. They can procure just about anything you like, given enough time."

"I think it's a good plan. I just have to make it a reality now. If I go I'll find something for you." And now that he knew all this new information about Jett it would help. He would have to find a good antique store, or two, if and when he went. Though it really wasn't an if but rather a when sort of thing.
It was the darker colors used in Renaissance art that got him, it wasn't bright and blinding. There was care given to it all and thought. They didn't make the human form look...perfect, which no form was. The didn't mind showing the weight, or lack of it, on a body. He did try, very hard, to avoid looking at the nude female forms in such paintings. it was hard to but he really didn't like the female form, painted or not. That was perhaps one of the big tells, for him at least, when he'd been younger and realizing his own inclinations.
"I suppose it gives me a bit of class. I just figure it gives me good taste. I can say the fact you appreciate antiques, the class of them, tells me you have good taste as well. Something you don't find in those out age really." It was rare for him to see people, their age, with an appreciation for such fine things.
"Would it be terribly rude, and nonprofessional, if I turned the conversation to business for a moment?" He questioned seemingly out of no where, his eyes focused up on a new painting. His hands inside the pockets of his coat. "I have a small matter to bring to your attention, though perhaps I should have contacted you soon afterwards and brought it to you sooner than now. Not to say I've been sitting on it for but a week."

While Jett could appreciate chit-chat, he was certainly a sucker for business when things really came down to it. They could talk about likes and dislikes all they wanted, but at the end of the day, it wasn't getting them anything but a better idea of each other.
'Business', for them, had the unique ability to be either a grand or trivial matter, though he didn't suspect that Alex was set in wasting his time, either way. Anything of concern to Alex—small matter or not—was something he figured he could at least invest a little time into.
Casually, he glanced from the paintings in front of them back to Alex's face. "I don't think it would be rude in the slightest. The floor is yours, if you like. What small matter is it on your mind?" he prompted. He trusted Alex, so talk of 'business' brought him no stress or concern. At worst, he was merely curious. At best, eager to help.

Mock bowing to the other, something of a teasing smile in place, he nodded his head as he straightened himself. Of course anything trivial, or small, was important in his opinion. He wasn't the sort to waste his time talking about business for the sake of it; he did try to keep it as separate from his civilian life as possible even if it was becoming increasingly difficult. But the matter had been one of importance, as far as he was concerned, and had been on his mind for the past week.
"There is a new member to your group. She is...not as you or I." Here he lowered his voice to just above a whisper, his eyes though were on the painting. He was trying, as much as he could, to speak about this but not gain them unwanted attention. "She's no fighter. When she realized she'd need to she shook. She will gather energy but fighting...She had a little one beat her or at least engage her. I trust, and hope, you can handle her with care and keep her safe. I've offered to as well, she is as innocent or more innocent than Bazzite. Pushing her to learn to fight, and possibly even defend herself, could make things worse. But...she needs to learn, at some point. Until then she needs to be watched and maybe coddled into learning to defend herself." His words weren't rushed but he kept them at a whisper as he spoke. Only when he was done speaking did he turn his slate eyes onto Jett.
"I would not like to see her hurt, mentally or physically. She is not, as of now, cut out to even think of fighting. But she is one of yours and thought this prudent to mention to you. I know I can trust you with my back and hope you'll be able to help her." The concern in his voice now, and the trust he did have for Jett, colored each word he spoke. He was concerned for this senshi, to shake as she had at the thought of fighting, to let a chibi beat her. She needed help.

Jett was very aware of several new members to the court, and the recent influx made him wonder if there was, perhaps, a new soul that he'd missed. If such was the case, it was of great importance that he identify her and ensure her safety. Someone more innocent than Bazzite was someone that needed a few extra pairs of eyes. He would have preferred if she could have grown into her own skin naturally, as he didn't have time to coddle every new member of the Court, though he was never too busy to help one of them in need. Newness was not necessarily an excuse to him, but at the very least he figured it was his duty to ensure her safety and success within the Court.
He understood Alexandre's concern, and appreciated it; he wouldn’t want to see any member hurt in any way, though it bothered him that he would have someone else to worry about—as if Virtus wasn't enough.
"I'll see what I can do," he said simply; he didn't necessarily had it in his heart to cater to her—to tend to her and coddle as Alexandre had suggested, though he would do what he could, when he could. "Thank you for keeping an eye out for her. What is her name?" he prompted casually; he kept his voice low, though still conversational. He was always a bit on guard, though there was next to no one near them for the moment. Even if there had been, he might have continued the conversation; knowing who was struggling was imperative to him. If he knew now, he might be able to save them from trouble in the future.

"Don't think your the only one who will aid her, I will help as well. Our factions are allies. I should think that if you saw a member of the Negaverse in need of training you'd send me their way." And maybe help him help them, if he couldn't manage it all on his own. He was hoping to let Jett know he didn't need to take her all onto his shoulders, as he was sure he had a lot on his shoulder already. He could, if need be, do the coddling he thought she needed.
"Aurora, pink hair, a rather interesting outfit. Something like a cross between maid and something oriental. I ran into her, or rather she ran into me, on the roof of Starbuck's, the one downtown. I think she's planning to use that area as her own, at least as far as I gathered from our conversation." And that wasn't a bad thing, especially since she needed help and they knew where to find her.
"She did, on the plus side, strike me as the sort dedicated to collecting energy and doing her best in that area." It was always a good thing to see someone dedicated to something, especially if it was a duty and not something on the side (like himself wanting to protect the youma). She just needed work, possibly a lot of it.

"Ah, Aurora," he said with a thoughtful nod. "Yes, I've met her. Only once, briefly. She seemed friendly at best, scatterbrained at worst." Concern for her had not been a priority, sans offering a few warnings precautions, though if Alex thought she was a bit out of her league then Jett would have to make sure to check in on her a little more often.
"She was still settling in. A bit distracted, when our paths crossed, though I'll definitely keep that in mind, thank you." If she could just gather energy, he wouldn't mind if she wasn't actively confronting senshi and knight. He'd rather lose her as a force to convert or fight than lose her as a whole. Whatever slack she needed, he could make up for. Energy was important to their cause; they couldn't save any of the White Moon Senshi if there wasn't an ample supply.
Perhaps time would help hone her skills, and after she had gotten settled with just gathering energy she would be better suited to learn some sort of fighting. Hopefully by then she would have at least learned how important it was that she at least know how to defend herself.
"And extra eyes on her is appreciated. Our numbers are small," he said with a sigh, and while he had so much to do, he had yet to feel entirely overwhelmed by it all, there were some days when the pressure was just exhausting. "So anything you can offer is appreciated. I can't say that I've seen too many of…your group that needs that little extra boost. A handful, but they seem to have come a long way in recent weeks."

"Perhaps when I met her she was still settling in then." Tough even so she was going to need help in his opinion, though he could also of course be wrong. Either way though she would be getting extra eyes trained her way, and be getting help. It wouldn't do for her to be gathering energy, which she could do, and find herself under some senshi or knight attack. He also didn't want to even ponder the idea of her turning sides, not that he knew such was impossible in her case.
"I know your numbers are small, I do hope that eventually is corrected. Only time will yield that result though, in the meantime it's best if both our sides help each other in every way possible - such as this." And he did believe in that, in working together and having strong bonds. If they were both going to fight the senshi and knights they needed to have a strong allegiance in order to fight and win, like that ambush. Both their teams had done very well, though ambushing the senshi and knights had also played a key role in the win.
"I an only think that for our members, who are similar to Aurora and Bazzite, that they are found and trained quickly. I know I worked on it by myself mostly - to correct any weaknesses I had." A lot of soul searching, suffering nightmares, and forcing himself to view things certain ways till he believed it. He had seen enough as well from the other side to see the darkness in them and thus he could fight and kill them now. "Though I am still working with Bazzite when and how I can..." That was a slow work in progress, but he hoped it all worked and Bazzite became a hell of a Captain.
Glancing about slowly he took in the people milling about, moving down the hallway, and staring at framed pieces of art. No one was staring at them, no wide eyes, no people running off, nothing odd. It seemed they were safe, as was their conversation. "Shall we continue to look at the art or are you in the mood for some cafeteria food?" It was getting to that time where he was starting to get hungry himself.
