Returning to the original place she had searched, Sakura looked around, rummaging around for anything that looked helpful. It didn't seem like it though, as her search only gave her a headeach from all the strange sutras and complicated theories of chakra control, and whatnot. It wasn't what she was looking for, and Sakura turned around again, deciding to ask what the best books were to baa-sama. She seemed to know all the books by heart, from the many hours she spent in taking the time to rearrange every single book in the correct place all the time. It wouldn't have surprised her if she had memorized every singe book and cover of everything inside this library.

Going to the front, Yuki quickly found the person she was looking for, and smiling, asked her what she needed.
"Baa-sama, I've been looking at the place you told me to look, but it hasn't been much success. Do you know where else I could look for books about genjutsu? Specific jutsu would be kind of nice..." she trailed off as the elderly lady scrunched her brows in concentration, trying to remember where they were.

"Well, I suppose you can go look over in the jutsu section, but I'm not so sure they'd be all that helpful to you yet. Are you sure you didn't look thoroughly? The genjutsu section is overlooked by many shinobi, so they're mostly in the corners and ends of the shelves. Why don't you go back and see if you can't find anything. If you're still having trouble, I'll get you some of the advanced technique books for you. How about that?" she spoke, showing her where exactly they should have been. Misplaced books were always the ever-present problem that all library keepers had to solve, and this place was no exception, although it was in a better state compared to others thanks to baa-sama's hawk-like eyes, searching the place for anything misplaced or messy.

Thanking her, Sakura went back to search. She'd have to find it somewhere in the piles and stacks, and Yuki mentally prepared herself for a long, tedious search for the books. Oh the joy.

As she suspected, it wasn't there where baa-sama had thought it would be, which only meant that it was probably hidden somewhere else in the shelves or just simply being used by someone else in the library that wanted to look for it. Seeing as there was a higher possibility of her finding it around the place somewhere, Sakura started searching high and low, looking for a book related to genjutsu. They were all gone for some reason, but the shelves were full, which meant the orders had probably been mixed up, and the only reason for her not finding it was that someone had put it in the wrong place.

Grumbling a little, Yuki started shuffling around, searching and taking out books, taking them out and flipping the pages to see if any relevant information would pop up, even if it wasn't the exact book she was looking for. There was another interesting pile of books that she stopped to spend some time looking at, but it didn't list any techniques that she would have liked to learn. Her arms and legs became a bit heavy with the constant walking around and hoisting around books all over the place, but it couldn't be helped. Just a little more and she'd be finished with her task. Then she'd go by the elders to see if they had any dango for her before heading in. Her love for sweets was really getting to her nowadays, because she hadn't had any chances to eat any sweets these past two weeks or so, and she really couldn't resist. Besides, the elders loved her, and okka-san didn't seem to mind her going and spending time with them, as long as one of them accompanied her home when it was dark. But she was an Academy student now. Surely she could finish the task of walking home alone now?

But the dango and okka-san's delicious dinner that was sure to follow had to wait until she found the blasted book. Where in the world was it?!

Looking high and low, Yuki searched for the book, but everything was about ninjutsu or taijutsu and the different katas for practice. Although she was interested in those too, genjutsu was the one she wanted. Eventually giving up on trying to find it, Sakura came back to the front to see if baa-sama had found something of worth for her.

"Baa-sama, I'm sorry, I couldn't find the book anywhere." she spoke softly, a little disappointed when the elder lady returned without anything in her hands.

"Now now, don't be too disappointed. I'll get you some books from the genjutsu section. You're a smart child, I'm sure you'll understand most of what it's saying."

Taking the pink haired girl's hands and leading her across to the other place, she navigated them both through intricate stairways and long corridors, until they reached a well kept section of the library. Yuki looked around at the soaring pillars of scroll after scroll, awed by the sheer amount. Surely there was something here that could help her. The old lady started shuffling around, dusting a scroll here and there, and unfurling them, picking some for the curious child next to her.

Given a whole stack of materials to work with, Sakura was slightly mollified. At least these would last for a while, even though she'd have to work a bit harder to decipher what they meant.

"Arigato gozaimasu, baa-sama. I really appreciate all the help you've given me!" she said sweetly, giving the surprised lady a big hug, before waving and running off with an armful of scrolls.

"I'll return these to you later baa-sama!!" she yelled as she started the path back to her sanctuary again.

Joyfully running, she was about to reach the sofa when she tripped over her own feet while running. With a loud bang and the sound of scrolls scattered around the wooden floor, the 10 scrolls that she had been holding dispersed in every direction possible. Berating herself for being so foolish, Yuki got up and started picking them up again, careful to check if none were damaged or lost. If that happened, she wouldn't know what to say to baa-sama. Getting quite the incentive to find them all, Yuki hurridly gathered the parchment up again.

The first couple were right in front of her, which she rolled up and set aside in a neat pile next to her, so that they wouldn't roll away or become misplaced. Another batch had rolled slightly further away, and Yuki made sure not to step on any of them, lightly sidestepping over them in order to avoid making any smudges on the precious parchment. Rolling them up and gathering them again, She counted eight. Two were still missing. Glancing around, she saw one near the foot of the sofa, which she swiped away before it went anywhere else, placing it in the middle of her pyramid of scrolls. The last one had gotten stuck under the bookshelf, and she had to stretch to get it in the reach of her fingers, but finally, the last, slightly dusty scroll was in her hands again.

All 10 scrolls now accounted for, Yuki carefully gathered them up in her arms and slowly walked over, placing them all next to the desk on the right side of the sofa where she had placed her first book as a reference. Finally, she'd be able to read through now. Gently holding the parchment and feeling the weight of it, she slowly unraveled it open, holding her breath. What would this one show her?

This scroll seemed like an interesting one.

"Genjutsu - D Rank"

Kuro Ikkou no Jutsu (Black Thought Technique)
This Jutsu, while simplistic, can also act as a reflection of a Genjutsu user's talent. The aim of this genjutsu is primitive, but the effects can be devastating in the hands of a master. While not showing any horrible visions or disrupting the person’s perception directly, it causes the person to think things he or she would normally find unthinkable; murdering their own family, killing their closest friend, betraying their lover. The stronger the user of this jutsu is the more the person is consumed by this terrible thought, and the more it damages their psyche.

Sakura didn't really know what to think of this. It would be effective in the fact that she'd stop the other person from thinking of anything else after seeing something that horrible, but she was conflicted. Did she really want to cause that much harm to her opponent, whoever they were? Sakura was only thinking about friendly sparring, but then another thought occured to her. If people were harming her or her friends, wouldn't the kind of.. well... deserve it? If she ever did learn genjutsu, she would definitely use it when it became neccessary. No using it on normal sparring sessions, unless it was a much less toned down version that was made of things that would be hore humiliating than painful, at the very least.

Making notes, she rolled open a few more scrolls, and slowly read through them, tossing away ones that were too complicated or full of gore. Just reading the descriptions made her a bit sick, and now she fully had understood why genjutsu was considered just as scary as ninjutsu or taijutsu users. They weren't to be underestimated. Ever.

Picking up another one, Sakura skimmed through the contents. This one looked like a promising one.

"Genjutsu - B Rank

Magen: Niju Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings Technique)

A second atmospheric layer of Genjutsu is placed among the first illusion performed at firsthand.
This layer must be broken before the first genjutsu layer can be broken."

With something like this, she could definitely trap people inside a genjutsu for a long time. When she thought about it, she would be really paranoid after being caught in a genjutsu like that. She'd be constantly worrying about whether everything was real or whether she had just been caught in another genjutsu. Giggling a little, she thought it would be funny to try it on a classmate or their teacher as a prank. But then, in real life situations where they'd have little time to prepare, something as elaborate as this would take lots of time, not to mention require much more detail. It would be hard to utilize correctly if the oppenent knew what to do. That, and if they were good, it would only act as a time staller, which, depending on the situation, would only be a waste of chakra.

Thinking about all sorts of situations this could be used in, Sakura rolled up the scroll and placed it next to the ones she had gone through. Taking notes of this particular genjutsu, Sakura decided to take a last look at them before going home, at last.

Picking up the last scroll she had left, she hoped for a cool new jutsu for her to learn. As much as she wanted to, she wouldn't be able to use these for quite a while, but it would still mean that she could at least know what the jutsu was about. Knowing what the effects of a jutsu were was important, as it could give her an advantage over the other person. Opening the scroll was a discription, which caught her attention.

"Nehan Shoja no Jutsu (Temple of Nirvana Technique)

This jutsu causes everyone within a specific area to fall into a deep sleep. From the target's point of view, it seems as if feathers are falling from the sky, which serves as a distraction to allow the jutsu to take effect. The downside, however, is that any experienced ninja have more than enough time to dispel it.
Victims can only be woken by breaking the genjutsu. "

"No way! Such a cool jutsu existed??!" she whispered to herself as she vowed to learn it someday. This would definitely be one on her list of "to-do"s. Making everyone fall asleep in a massive range? Now that was one cool jutsu. And besides, as long as she was stealthy, she would be able to hide and make the jutsu. The fact that it took a lot of time kind of got to her though. If that was the case, then it would only affect those that were too slow to catch the fact that it was a genjutsu that made them fall asleep. But still, it seemed pretty cool. Making big, long notes about this one, she neatly penned it down before deeming her research at an end. This much information should be enough to finish off, she supposed, and she wrapped up her parcels.

Sakura was a bit surprised to find something bulky in the things that she had brought. Taking it out, she found the untouched onigiri package. She had been so absorbed in her work that she had forgotten that she had brought it. Taking a bite out of the home-made rice balls, she silently thanked her mother for making them for her. It really was thoughtful of her, as she probably hadn't had much time to make them. Wolfing them down, Yuki packed up again and gathered up the scrolls. She would have to return them to baa-sama before leaving so she could put them back later.

Once she handed the materials back to the lady, she gave a good-bye before heading over to where the elders were. Maybe they had some dango for her. The onigiri was good, but now it was time for some dessert.

Sakura, slipping her scroll and writing material into her kunai pouch which had a little spare room, now hurried to where the elders should be, with the thought of dango swimming around in her head. Hastening her steps, she went up to the porch where they usually were, but it seemed they were gone for a while, since the normal occupants were gone. Slightly disappointed, she turned back, figuring they were probably in the middle of a meeting or something. Walking along the walls of the compound, Sakura trailed her fingers over the old and smooth walls. It felt so strange to do this again, like she had done this years ago, and not just yesterday. Things had been so hectic that fateful day, but she was content. It was good to be around people that didn't send strange looks at her. She... she felt like she belonged here, like it was her path to walk. It wasn't concrete yet, but this sure felt a lot more natural than to sit in a classroom and listen to their sensei's lectures. Using the chakra too, had been something quite fun. This manipulation was really what made her excited. All that usage had really gotten her in a good mood, and expelling the energy left her less hyper and more focused, strangely enough.

While thinking about what had happened today, Yuki's steps led her to the front of the house. It was still empty though, and looking at the time, it seemed a bit too early, even for okka-san's standards. Well, a little more training around the courtyard or the dojo wouldn't hurt, she guessed. Closing the door behind her once again, she headed over to the dojo, deciding to see if there was anyone around to help her practice her stamina or such. After all, she kind of needed the physical exercise, after all that onigiri.

Striding over to the dojo, Sakura stopped in place as she thought about it. If she were to do anything, she would be better off running around along the Uchiha's walls, instead of in the dojo where there seemed to be quite a few people training, or wandering around and looking, like her. It was all good, and it didn't matter much, she supposed, but she wanted to do some strength training in order to keep up with her classmates. Yae and Pakku had been doing some running in the Academy earlier today, but she didn't have much time to, because she had been recovering from chakra loss. That, and her lack of stamina compared to others was a genetic thing, which put her at a slight disadvantage compared to the others. She supposed she could make up for that lack by strengthening her dodging, but sometimes, brute stamina was needed in the grueling tasks that shinobi needed to force their way through. Perhaps practicing tessenjutsu or going through some basic katas would do for now, since she came to the dojo anyway. Running could wait until later, when she finished. Looking around, she searched for a spot or room that she could use for practicing. It wasn't long until she found an isolated and quiet room for practice.

She wasn't sure how to go about this though, since it was her first time at the dojo. Was she supposed to recieve some type of permission to come and use this place? Well for now, since she wasn't quite sure as to how she would go about doing things, she decided to occupy the currently empty space until someone else told her otherwise. After all, it was her first time here, and everyone knew her around here, being a resident and all, with some, ah, very defining features. They'd tease her for not knowing what she was supposed to do before coming in, at most, and then probably get her the permission required in a jiffy. The Uchihas were all nice to her that way. Grinning, Yuki decided to go and practice a while, and work on formation and strength. But before that, she wanted to fumble around with her chakra a bit, to see what she could achieve with her training.

[Alternate time training]

Entering one of the smaller empty rooms that was just to the right of the courtyard, Sakura sat down and prepared herself for the training, but it was strange. She had a nagging feeling of sorts, like she was missing something. That was strange, was she forgetting something important, like... Amaya coming over to the compound to train with her?!!

Yelping, she sprang up and looked at the clock. It was already 5 before and she didn't realize she had asked Amaya over some time after school was over. She hadn't said anything to the guards and Amaya might not have been let in at all if the guards were being stubborn. Standing up and dashing over to the kouban, she passed the people by, weaving through the Uchihas that were walking around. Once she reached the front entrance, she grabed a hold of one of the guards, the exact one she had greeted earlier this morning, and stood in front of him, trying to catch her breath.

"Eh, Yuki! What's the matter? the man asked amicably, waiting for her to catch her breath before trying to figure out what she had to say. Once she could talk, she told the guards that one of her Academy friends were coming over, by the name of Amaya Keiji, and that they should let her pass if she came over. Of course, she would have to go through the normal inspection and all, but having one of the family members vouch for her couldn't hurt. And besides, she had probably made Amaya's life much easier by telling him to expect her arrival. Then she wouldn't have to be hassled around by the other guards and extra searching or whatnot that they used to do. With an affirmative nod from the Uchiha guard and a warning that his shift ended in 3 hours, Sakura thanked him and walked away, eventually wandering over to the Ameteratsu statue.

The statue itself was fairly old, but that antiqueness made the aura itself even more impressive and amazing. Each line and curve was well crafted, most probably by a master artist. It was here that she decided to wait for her friend to come along, hoping she would come soon. It was getting kind of chilly and she wanted to go to the dojo and practice some more before doing anything else. When would she come?

[This Takes Place In An Alternate Time Frame]

Amaya’s steps were unsure as she approached the Uchiha compound. She had only been there on a few occasions before, but this time she didn’t have an Order of Summons with her. Plus, she had never actually been inside the compound. Normally she would hand the guards the summons and they would go seek out whomever she needed because it was easier than having her go through their security clearance. Her past encounters were on behalf of her father’s business. Now she was here to train with an Uchiha. It was incredible that Amaya had gone most of the day content not knowing the origin of her friend. Oh well, she hadn’t wanted to pry for fear of angering people.

Taking in a breath of courage, as if it hung in the air around her, the child shyly approached the kouban. There stood a number of men on duty as there always were. ”Pardon me,” The girl was somewhat quiet as she approached one on the left. ”But I am here to meet Uchiha Sakurayuki.” Amaya thought is best to use the full name even though it was obvious that she was here to see an Uchiha. It was the Uchiha compound after all. ”My name is Keiji Amaya.” That’s right, Amaya, giving them your name will alleviate suspicions. Wait…what the hell was there to be suspicious of?! She was a child!

”Oh, its you.”

The guard seemed wholeheartedly unenthused when the girl approached, then again, the child didn’t really expect much else. Amaya was forced to hand over her weapons pouch for a search, but it was returned to her when it was discovered that she only had academic scrolls and the like in there. She showed them the school identification that she had been given and she was eventually allowed to pass. It was a bothersome task, but necessary.

Upon entering the compound, the black haired Keiji girl was astounded by the sheer beauty of the area. Walking through the compound was like walking through a garden. No matter which way one looked there was resounding beauty. Then again, that was a benefit of belonging somewhere.

Deeper in, the child was caught in awe by a towering statue of Amaterasu, who she knew was a symbol of reverence for the Uchihas; and for good reason. Then, there at the base, was just the girl she was looking for. Amaya strode over to the pink haired girl and stood beside her, hands clasped together behind her back. ”Lady Amaterasu is quite lovely; isn’t she, Sakura-chan?”

Sakura was looking at the delicate fingers positioned in mid-air on the statue of Amateratsu when she heard a voice that she had learned to be familarized with that day.

Lady Amaterasu is quite lovely; isn't she, Sakura-chan?" Amaya said, and Sakura smiled, still looking at the statue. She wasn't startled by her approach, since the Keiji was such a familiar presence now, but she gave her sign of acknowledgement to show that she had heard with a simple, but heartfelt 'Aa'. Spending a few extra seconds just admiring the statue, she finally turned to Amaya, smiling politely to her guest. by the looks of it, she didn't seem ruffled in any way, so she decided it was safe to assume that the Academy student hadn't gone through too much hassle with coming in, although that could be a lie, because she herself knew how scary they could get when they truly considered a person to be a threat to the Uchihas. For now, she would do the best to accomodate Amaya and see to it that never would she say that the Uchihas were impolite or inhospitable.

Folding her arms to the front and bowing to her guest - almost like she would if she was still in a kimono - Sakura spoke to her "honored guest". "Konbanwa Keiji-san. Thank you for taking your time to grace this humble place with your presence. I hope your entry wasn't too unpleasent?" Most of all that was just for basic etiquette, for the people around to hear and make sure that her friend was here on 'business', and wasn't some sort of intruder. But the last part of the question was what she was really worried about. As the times were rough, people were more likely to be paranoid about these things, and Academy students, in their eyes, weren't any different. She led the way through the village streets before Amaya could say anything, keeping slightly ahead and taking her to the dividing road that would decide whether they would go to her home first to chat, or to the dojo to practice as they planned. Catching Amaya's look though, she shrugged and grinned abashedly. "The introduction... well that's how my kaa-san does it. I can't help that my elders are always whining about how we need to 'stick to traditions' all the time." she said, making quotation marks with her fingers. "Once we're out of the public eye, we can forget all of that. she said with a small grin.

Now they needed to decide what they would do first though, and Yuki decided to ask Amaya to see what she would prefer. After all, the guest was the king, or queen in this case, and it didn't matter for her either way. "So what will it be? Would you like to stay at our place for a while, or go to the dojo first? If you want, you can take a tour around the place too. It won't take long." Sakura spoke, fully ready to support her friend's decision.

[This Takes Place In An Alternate Time Frame]

Aa.

Amaya smiled as she looked up at her new friend. At least, she thought that Sakura could be counted as a friend. Now that she thought about it, there were quite a few people in the Academy that the black haired girl would consider to be a “friend”.

Konbanwa Keiji-san. Thank you for taking your time to grace this humble place with your presence. I hope your entry wasn’t too unpleasant?

The child turned to face the Uchiha and returned the bow, no matter how odd it was. Having dealt with the occasional Uchiha in the forge and having interacted with Akeru so much earlier that day she wasn’t all that surprised to see that they were very formal inside the walls of their compound. However, Amaya was guessing that this was an act that Sakura was putting on for the sake of the adults that meandered about.

Before the Keiji had a chance to answer she was off following the pink haired girl. As they walked along the path, Amaya took in the wondrous scenery and the various people that they passed. Most of them had black hair and dark eyes. Why did Akeru have those lovely golden eyes?

Was there a chance that Amaya could pass herself off as an Uchiha? Aside from the fact that everyone in the compound probably knew one another she did have to note that she looked well enough like one.

The introduction…well that’s how my kaa-san does it. I can’t help that my elders are always whining about how we need to “stick to traditions” all the time. Once we’re out of the public eye we can forget all of that.

Amaya smiled in response to the girl’s apology. She knew that there had to be some reason for the strict formalities. The stranger understood well enough; after all, she had to use formalities with the customers in the shops.

So, what will it be? Would you like to stay at our place for a while or go to the dojo first? If you want, you can take a tour around the place too. It won’t take long.

Amaya looked up at the mid day sky as she thought, appreciating the beauty of the complex. This was one downside of living in the market; there was nothing all too beautiful about it.

”How about we go to the dojo first. That way we can tour the complex while we recover afterwards.”

The black haired girl wasn’t used to being treated as the guest, but she also knew how to respond when the situation called for it. She had come to train, so that was foremost on her mind. She was so excited about the Academy that day that she just hadn’t been ready to leave well enough along at the end of the day. Luckily for her, neither was Sakura. Chances are the girls would spar. Not only was it a chance to test out what they learned, but it was also a subconscious way to measure oneself against their comrade. That way they knew the pecking order of the class. That wasn’t Amaya’s intention in a spar, but it was an inevitable result.

”Oh, and please just call me ‘Amaya-chan’ when we’re not around your family. That is, only if you are comfortable with the reference.”

Amaya didn’t want to over step her boundaries and make it seem that she was too comfortable with Sakura. Then again, she may have already leapt over that when she referred to Sakura as “chan” when she first arrived at the compound. Blast.
