From the Swords of Salvation guard station, two human paladins marched briskly to the house they had been tipped about. It seemed two unholy beings had nestled up for the night. One being an outcast Cleric who had changed her Deity, something the two young Tyral worshipers looked down upon. The other being a purely Dark aligned Nightmare. They were told to place both of them under arrest for scrutiny and trial. The leading Paladin was currently using Track Evil to find the exact house they were staying in.

"Fear is not as simple as you think."
Avandis yawned a bit, as before Mimosa could shut the door his hand would reach out and hold it open. Looking at the Two Paladin he would simply shake his head. Recognizing their stupid uniforms from the typical swamp lock downs and what not where he lazily slept in the most inconspicuous spots usually, but occasionally would awaken and see the people marching around. <******** Swords, really?" He questioned, mainly to himself as he sighed. "This, is just ridiculous." He would say once more to himself as he just stood there. His arm moving out, grabbing Mimosa and pulling her back and putting her into a position where she'd be behind him as he looked at the two Paladins still. "Well, you're going to attack me right?" He asked them.

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
The feeling was unsettling in the little village, but she disregarded it for now. Late night and up and about, Nokomis had been hunting the local fauna off in the woods as a way to replenish herself. For the last month or so, she had been restricting herself of human blood and was learning control. Often enough she had to restrain herself of draining more than a pint's worth of blood from a single human.
Having feasted on meager animals, she had returned under the night sky before dawn would soon break. Under the moonlight, she enjoyed the radiant light it gave that complicated the darkness. Unlike the sun and the moon, she didn't need any light to see save for small amounts as her night vision was superb. But when she re-entered the inn of where she was staying during the day time, she was stopped by an uneasy presence, the same she felt earlier outside.
Through her sixth sense and her connection to the Void, she felt a few presences nearby, one radiating a rather strong one and two who felt alien to her. But their connection to the holy light was fairly obvious and it sent a warning to her. The other two had a familiar touch, although she couldn't put her finger on it.
'Two more I must avoid.' She thought, bringing her cloak over her head to hide her pale face. With control of the shadows, she masked her face as a precaution in case some could tell her race from just looks. For the time being, she lingered in the lobby of the inn and figured she'd best wait it out before returning to her own room since the unsettling presence of the two Paladins were there nearby.
Having a deep hate for those of any holy linage, her real foe was those of Tyral. The other deities she could care less for, yet for a century or two of dodging hunters and religious fanatics she was right to feel cautious. Nokomis slowly walked away in the lobby, passing a table where one bottle of mead laid spilled -- its owner was most likely drunk as a skunk. Nokomis sought to make herself scarce as possible, yet she blinked and looked around.
Odd, I feel nothing else here. Something is off here, did I miss something important? She speculated and set her jaw tight. Her gaze averted back away as she made way to a distant table. Still, there was a looming and nagging feeling coming from the four that she did sense, figuring that the one's immense presence drowned out the others who may be sleeping or not even there at all.
'Such pressure, that odd signature is almost overwhelming to me.' She spat silently, disliking the ominous air given off by one of the two within the inn itself. If memory served, it was one of those of a race of which she should not consume blood from or risk dire pain. Oh what she would give for a Vestitor at that moment, their scent was most... pleasant.
She shook her head and sat at a table, keeping to herself and pulled her cloak from around her sword to allow easy access. While at the same time, she covered her left side where her short sword was belted securely and wouldn't protrude the cloak. It would mask her shorter weapon while revealing that she was armed with a more dangerous blade, a saber; the preferred blade of her's to use.

The two Paladins sat at the doorway, clearly unimpressed as they stared at the Anandis and Mimosa with disgust and feeling slight paranoia, one spat at Anandis, "More like ******** nightmares, i'd say, poisoning the entirety of the world with your presence." The other Paladin put an arm over his friend, holding him back slightly as he drew his blade and spoke with a mocking grin, "I tell you what, come with us quietly right now and we'll try to put in a good word with the grand Father himself in an attempt to at least make your torture more comfortable, you dark scum. Otherwise," the Paladin began to brim with golden energy from his armor as he prepared himself for what he hoped would be the outcome, "The Father will never get the chance to torture you for answers himself, because you'll be dead long before it."

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
To serve your lord is one thing... But torture is another. Nokomis thought to herself as she gripped her saber's scabbard with her hand, knuckles turning white. The vampire contemplated on what to do as she overheard the two 'swords.' They stunk and she disliked their presence more than the ominous air growing from the other two, one of which was apparently a nightmare. A rather peculiar name for a specie she thought, giving it thought to the pressure that weighed her down.
It explains the energy. But it seems no one's around either, so those two 'swords' are more of a threat than I thought. Nokomis closed her eyes and thought for a moment, from a distance the artificial shadowing would hide her face for certain as she gazed at the two. Standing in the doorway, they were positioned in an ideal position but she couldn't make her approach from where she was.
Standing up, the vampire's left hand clutched her blade and had slowly began to draw it. With slow deliberate steps, she approached the two warriors and glared at them from behind her darkened cowl. Speaking in a native sounding tongue, it was a hissing low tone of the Black Speech. It was a chilling tone meant to inspire fear in her enemies with the translation. Through the sentence spoken, her saber was pulled out from within the shadowed portion of her cloak.
"Servants of Holy Light, Foul Enemy of My Kin, Leave or Face My Vengence.' Would be the translation be of her hissing tone of the foul tongue rolling off of her lips. At that, she would take one final step yet keep her cowl and cloak concealing much of her body with only a single hand holding the steel saber in her left hand.

"Fear is not as simple as you think."
Avandis...smiled? This amused him so much, he was considered so weak they only sent two of these things here? He laughed a bit then as his gaze met Mimosa's, he nodded, with a smirk. Turning face to the paladins and then backing up to go into the inn. "Little Paladin boys, that's rude, you seem a bit, paranoid, might I ask you why?" He chuckled, as he backed into the inn, and away from the doorway. He taunted chuckling louder as he backed up. "I mean, if you really think you can kill me, I am unarmed, it should be easy for you weaklings right?" He asked, as he stood in the main room of the inn.

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
A cringing feeling grasped tight and coiled from within. The pressure she felt and a beating within her head was complete with a burning sensation. She stepped only a few feet while the nightmare made his talk. The vampire seemed to freeze as her darkness faded away and revealed her features underneath.
H-here...? Of all my... Nokomis rasped as she hissed loudly and focused a loud echo of dark energy. Similar to the bat's echo, this one was slightly similar as it would hope to disorient . Weakened from hunger, she would be in no fit shape to hold her own or be of use. Escape was her only viable option now as the deathly feeling clawed at her from within, the urge to feed and to kill something, anything!
She was weakening and fast as she turned tail and sprinted right for the opposite direction of the paladins. "Grab onto me if you wish to leave!" The Vampire shouted her warning as she sheathed her saber. Dark tendrils of magic would swirl around her body upon passing between the two and arms stretched out for each to grab hold. Between the two, a body of shadow would emerge like an oily substance painted directly into the air and by running toward it Nokomis was swallowed whole and passed into the other plane as her body would slowly become intangible and one with the void along with any of the two should they grab hold.
In a short span of time, she would be in the void and through the darkness she saw everything on a parallel level. I'm too weak to take it far... She thought as she broke the shadowstep a bit early and a pool of shadow beckoned far off from the inn under the cover of darkness. Their momentum would be carried through as Nokomis stepped out and found herself taken to the edge of the village. Cripes, her power was weakening by the second.

Shadow Step Rank D The first true power a Dark Avenger attains from its pact with the Dark Plane is also one of their most versatile. Having shunned Light from their lives, a Dark Avenger may pass freely between the Material Plane and the Shadow World by simply stepping into a shadow or dark area. While using Shadow Step, a Dark Avenger travels great distances, and has the ability to take others, willing or otherwise, along for the ride by maintaining physical contact with them. Past a single passenger, every additional traveler costs an additional 50 energy, as does taking a creature against their will. Beings of higher rank than the Dark Avenger cannot be taken against their will via Shadow Step. Shadow step may only be used once per post, and it has a 2 post CD while in combat.
((Good as an idea this is, your character has not been anywhere else in the world yet post wise and would have to end up somewhere within this thread using Shadow Step.))

"Fear is not as simple as you think."
Avandis looked in the direction of the voice, and simply agreed to it. He grabbed the female's arm and then grabbed Mimosa's arm as well. Dragging her with himself and the other into the darkness. They soon came out of the shadow, they were pretty far away from the inn, and at the edge of the supply village. He had a somewhat serious look on his face as he looked towards the inn's direction, and simply shook his head. "Not worth it, thank you, lets go..." He said as he noticed that she seemed to be a bit weakened? He didn't know what she was just right this moment, but he sighed. He would come over to her, and then grab her, hoisting her onto his back. "You don't look too good." He said, monotone, he didn't really care much, but she did help them, so he'd return the favor. He began to quickly move, hopefully with Mimosa right behind them as they left the village, and began heading towards wherever was safe. Which Avandis felt was anywhere but the swamp.

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
Hmph. His presence is clouding my senses, I cannot sense the life around me very well. Nokomis' observation despite her weakness drew on her body. Lacking nutrients, or blood, she has yet to feed upon something to suffice. In her weakened state, that what she would do just that. Reaching around at her belt, the vampire unclipped three vials of a red liquid and brought it closer to her mouth. The fragile glass containers broke in her hand, cutting her flesh a little as the blood trickled into her mouth. Strength regained slowly but enough to sate her thirst once more and halt the rate of which she weakened.
Blood stained her lips and neck area as a relived sigh escaped her, drawing herself back to a more alert state than befor although still weakened from her full strength. Focus returned and the dreary pangs of fatigue were not as severe as her head moved from side to side to rid the grogginess. Catching the words of her company, it was just then she was aware of a man carrying her as she still felt the overwhelming presence blocking out a good portion of her senses. Even with her connection to the void, her soul bound to the darkness, some were always stronger than her.
"I haven't fed in over a week. I've only lived on the meager animals in the marsh,' Nokomis commented to the one carrying her, fully aware of her surroundings now with the feeling of fatigue. Bleary eyed, she pulled her cloak's hood over her head to hide her face seeing as the light was a boon. The darkness was her light.
"I am Isa--Nokomis." She began to say her real name but corrected herself and mentally slapped herself for having lost such focus. The girl with a vibrant aura despite this thing was thanking her for transporting them out of the inn. Nokomis disliked paladins, especially those of holy light. Any enemy of her enemy was a friend, or at least an asset. "You were in need, so I helped. I would not have helped you given the circumstances were different. As for myself... Need not concern yourself, for I am just a ghost of ages past."
Nokomis said the last bit to hint her age, for she didn't belong to their day and age and should have truly died some time ago. By some time, she meant a couple centuries. "I am a servant of no one, it is simple as that." She went on and closed her eyes as her strength had slowly returned.
What were the paladins anyways, never in her life had she seen such devoted followers threaten with the intention of torture. There was much of which was unknown to the woman, a social pariah rather than a social butterfly. Unlike these two mortals, she had to feed on them like cattle in order to live for as long as possible. "The plague, destruction, I remember that much recently. But what of the paladins, I've not seen such behavior recently. It isn't like a man of the cloth to speak as such." her speech was odd, some terms old and some probably never used as Nokomis went on with her observation and went on to explain how she was tracking someone she had 'marked' and her intentions on traveling straight through and onto Jiuam where an asset of her's lived.

The paladins finally pushed into the Inn to find it vacated of their targets. As they searched, a Fallen Cleric, impatient for their report, walking into the inn. Seeing they had lost the targets from the intercepted pigeon, he instructed the paladins to search the town. As they set out into the streets, the cleric released a white dove, signalling to any waiting forces i the swamp that they were on the trail of Darkness.
