I'm taking it slow, feeding my flame, shuffling the cards of your game
Marina Eugenie Aldred, Proud Halfblood, Slytherin Third Year
Wearing Mood: Excited Thoughts: Today's the day! With: Bernadette Location: Aldred Home
Marina was lying on her back watching clouds drift by. She groaned at her mother's question. "You're doing one of those stupid crosswords again, aren't you. I don't know. We didn't learn that at Hogwarts." The teen rolled her eyes at Bernadette's mock gasp. "Why, when I was your age we could name every bird in Africa. Times sure are a changing." Marina snorted with laughter. "Ugh, Mum, don't be silly." "Well, you're the one laughing. I'm just trying to do my crossword with no help from my ignorant daughter." Prejudice is stubborn and ignorance is hard.

Ĵɑɾɑɨ and Ƞɛɭɭ Ɇɭɭɨʂ Nell had been bouncing off the walls until the day came when she and her mother were scheduled to come and pick up Marina at her home. At three o'clock their attuned portkey arrived in a secluded section of London where they took a moment to get some tea (blueberry for Nell and acai berry for Jarai) and maple scones. After their treat they then apparated (well her Mum apparated, she hung on for the ride) to the town of Dunstable. After asking a few neighbors, some a bit rude during the questioning, the mother-daughter duo arrived at the Aldred's front door at exactly four o'clock. Nell took the initiative and knocked, rather loudly, on the front door and began to lightly bounce again with her long wavy hair and fedora bouncing with her. The Scot hadn't grown much but it put her over her stagnant even five feet; finally she was a decent five foot three! Jarai merely looked over at her daughter with thinly hid amusement. "Excited?" she asked. "You have no idea!" the teen squealed. ((pics contain what they're wearing))

Can't you hear my call? Are you coming to get me now?
Bernadette Morgan Aldred, Proud Muggleborn, Former Ravenclaw
Wearing Mood: Calm Thoughts: Here they are.. With: Marina, Nell, and Jarai Bernadette heard the loud knock from the backyard. "Sounds like they're here," she commented, laying her crossword down, and dusting bits of grass from her trousers. The dark haired woman headed for the front door, entering the house with Marina close behind. She opened the door with one hand, the other, as always, dangled uselessly. Her entire right arm was paralyzed, leaving her permanently left handed since she was 18. It was cursed, actually, and had an ugly black tattoo stretching from her shoulder to the back of her right hand. Because of this Bernadette wore long sleeve shirts even in the heat of summer, and she couldn't do anything that required two hands without the help of someone else or magic. Her family was used to her disability; Marina had never known her mother without it. However she often got strange looks from others, both muggle and magical. Marina's mother smiled warmly at Nell and Jarai. "You must be Nell and Mrs. Ellis. I'm Bernadette Aldred, Marina's mum." She glanced over her shoulder into the house. "Marina's just getting her things. Please, come in," she offered, stepping back into the hall. "Marina!" the petite woman called. as she lead Nell and Jarai into the living room. Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage I've been waiting for you to come rescue me...

Marina heard her mother's call from her room, where she was doing a last minute check to make sure she had everything. She ran downstairs, taking them two at a time. Her cat, Jet, followed her, meowing curiously. She skidded to a halt in the living room. "Hi Nell!" she exclaimed happily. "Hi Mrs. Ellis," she greeted the woman she took to be Nell's mother. She wondered briefly what Nell's reaction to her new haircut would be, and noted that her friend had shot up a good three inches. Ĵɑɾɑɨ and Ƞɛɭɭ Ɇɭɭɨʂ Jarai gave Bernadette an easy smile and offered a hand to shake when she opened the door and introduced herself. "Please call me Jarai, calling me Mrs. Ellis just makes me sound old." the Haitian woman joked. Nell also gave her a warm 'Puff proud smile and a wave. "Hi Mrs. Aldred! Is Marina ready?" her mother rolled her eyes slightly. "She just said she went to get her things mon petit." Nell gave a sheepish shrug before walking into the house and living room while waiting for her friend to come down. When she came down the Hufflepuff jumped over and gave the unsuspecting Slytherin a hug. "Hi Marina! Aww, this must be Jet." she bent over to pet her adorable black kitten. Jarai smiled over at the redhead and offered her hand again. Hi, you must Marina Nell's been talking practically nonstop since she got your letter-" "Omygoodness! I love your hair!" Nell interrupted.

Wearing Mood: Excited Thoughts: Hug attack?! With: Bernadette, Nell, and Jarai Location: Aldred Home
Marina almost toppled over from the force of the hug, and has the breath knocked out of her. "Thanks," she replied once she could breathe again. "My mum cut it for me." She shook Jarai's hand after Bernadette did. "Glad to know I'm so popular in your household," she joked. She hefted her backpack onto her shoulders and scooped up Jet, putting him in a basket she took from the corner. "I'm ready to leave when you are." Prejudice is stubborn and ignorance is hard

Ĵɑɾɑɨ and Ƞɛɭɭ Ɇɭɭɨʂ Nell giggled at Marina's dry humor while her mother's smile widened. "Alright m'dear, just keep a tight hold on your kitten and put your finger on the compass please." Jarai instructed the teenager as she held the tarnished golden compass in her hand with the bent arrow swirling this way and that. Nell was already placing her finger on the area pointing north while she was talking. "On my count: three...two...one!" as she said one the arrow spun quickly before landing directly between North and West and engulfed the small party. [Exit to Ellis Loch Home]

I'm taking it slow, feeding my flame, shuffling the cards of your game
Marina Eugenie Aldred, Proud Halfblood, Slytherin Third Year
Wearing Mood: Miserable Thoughts: I'm in so much trouble... With: Bernadette and Dustin Location: Aldred Home Marina was deposited in a kitchen chair by her father. Her mother put a salve on her ankle to reduce the swelling and gave her a wash cloth to wipe off the blood and dirt. The Slytherin made herself look slightly more presentable and then faced her parent's furious stares. "I'm really sorr-" she began before her mother cut her off. "Save the apologies until after you explain exactly what happened tonight." Bernadette ordered testily, her voice frigid. The teen sighed, and recounted the whole story, from beginning to end. Her parents were silent until she finished. Then Dustin spoke. "You need to understand just how disappointed we are with you. I get that you wanted to help your friends, but getting involved in a magical battle is a whole different story. You could have died. There were dead bodies there, Marina. There were vampires there! You can't just go around risking your life like that!" His voice steadily rose until he was yelling at his daughter, trying to make her see just how hard it had been for them. Marina snapped. "You think I don't know that?! I saw them die, Dad! I might have even killed a few of those people! I was there, I watched people screaming in pain and getting their throats ripped out! I saw what the Family did to their captives! They were tortured; they were kept alive for their blood! The ministry was taking their sweet time doing anything! The aurors weren't even there! We were the only ones willing to do something! So we did." Her voice lowered from a scream to a whisper. "I couldn't just do nothing." Dustin and Bernadette stared at her in shock. "Be disappointed in me if you have to, but I would do it all over again, if it meant saving just one innocent life." She started sobbing, and her parents pulled her close, murmuring words of comfort. When the crying had ceased, her mother put a hand on her shoulder. "Marina, we just don't want to lose you. You're so young. You have your whole life ahead of you to fight the good fight and protect the helpless. Sweetheart, one day you're not going to be able to save everyone. One day you might not be able to save yourself. Please, try to just be a teenager. Not a hero." Marina stared at the kitchen floor. Dustin shared a look with Bernadette. "You're grounded until further notice." The redhead nodded, and limped up the stairs, followed by Jet. Prejudice is stubborn and ignorance is hard

Tobias Damien's Owl Click to go to Edgeworth Manor for reply mail. spaceA small, sweet owl fluttered to the window of Marina Aldred, under orders from his owner to take his letter straight to the girl. Tobias clicked his claws against the window and gave a few soft hoots to get the girl's attention, more than a little excited. This was his first time delivering a letter anywhere but home, after all.Damien Marina,
I don't know why you shouldn't be writing me, but I am rather glad you did. Things are strange at my home right now. My parents are constantly arguing. I heard my father raise his voice to my mother the other day, something he never does. They were talking about me... apparently he meant it when he said I wasn't to be locked up anymore, which I'm glad for, of course. And I haven't been, so my summer has, by default, been much better thus far than last summer was, though not by much.
In any case, what on Earth could you possibly have done to get everything taken away from you? I hope you're not in too much trouble; I mean, obviously you are, but... alright, that was rather stupid of me. You must be in a lot of trouble to be locked up for the summer. I'm sure your parent's wouldn't do it for a foolish reason like my mother did. I can't imagine they're nearly as awful as she is... that's terrible to say, but it's true, I suppose.
Are you alright?
Damien

I'm in HERE, can anybody SEE me? Can anybody HELP? I'm in HERE, a prisoner of HISTORY, Can anybody HELP?
BERNADETTE MORGAN ALDRED PROUD MUGGLEBORN FORMER RAVENCLAW
Can't you hear my call: Calm | Are you coming to get me now: Oh yes she has... | I've been waiting for you to come rescue me: My daughter, the sneaky little snake. | I need you to hold all the sadness I can not, living inside of me: Marina's room |
Bernadette poked her head into her daughter's room, giving her a suspicious look. "Êtes-vous de l'écriture quelqu'un?"* she asked rapid fire in French just for the heck of it. It was always good to keep Marina practicing her French, something she probably didn't get much use out of in Scotland. In fact, maybe testing her on her Latin would be a good idea too. "Audivi strutionum."* She leaned against the door, a faint smile tugging at her lips. Of course Marina would be trying to do the one thing they had forgotten to tell her not to. This was her Slytherin daughter, after all. "Vous n'êtes pas autorisé à écrire amis."* Her daughter was probably complaining about being grounded to all of her friends, when in reality she had gotten off pretty good for breaking almost every rule that had ever been imposed on her. "Bonum conantur, sententia."*
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.
*French for "Who are you writing?" Latin for "I heard the owl." French for "You're not allowed to be writing your friends." Latin for "Good try, though."
I'm in HERE, I'm trying to tell you SOMETHING, Can anybody HELP? I'm in here, I'm calling OUT but you can't HEAR, Can anybody HELP?

Great, her mum was on to her. "Je ne sais pas ce que vous parlez. Non erat strutionum. Je n'écrivais pas n'importe qui, alors comment aurais-je pu être écrit à un ami? Nulla est omnino probationem me scribens quemquam."* Her head was hurting by the time she was done answering her mother, alternating between French and English. But Bernadette wasn't done yet. "Avez-vous écrit un garçon, alors? Amor litterae, fortasse? Y at-il un copain de ton père et je n'ai pas été informé de?" Marina went rather red. "Bien sûr que non! Amor litterae sunt, stultus! Comme si j'avais un petit ami! Je n'ai pas le temps pour les garçons!" She jumped to her feet and stormed past her mother out of the room, scowling. Bernadette smirked, still teasing her daughter as she followed her down the stairs, this time in English. "You can tell me if you're in a relationship, Marina. I know how kids are these days!" "Yeah right, Mum!" "Sarcasm is not allowed in this household unless it's intelligent sarcasm, young lady! Now help me clean these windows. Manual labor builds character and muscle strength, you know." "You're kidding me right? This family is insane!" "Darling, a little bit of insanity can be healthy."
Prejudice is stubborn and ignorance is hard.
*"I haven't been writing anyone. There was no owl. How could I write my friends if I haven't been writing anyone? There's no proof of me writing anyone."
"Have you been writing a boy, then? A love letter, perhaps? Is there a boyfriend your father and I haven't been informed of?"
"Of course not! Love letters are stupid! As if I have a boyfriend! I don't have time for boys!" EYES on FIRE Your SPINE is ABLAZE Felling any FOE with my GAZE And JUST in TIME In the RIGHT PLACE STEADILY emerging with GRACE Ahh, felling any FOE with my GAZE Ahh, STEADILY emerging with GRACE Ahh, felling any FOE with my GAZE Ahh, STEADILY emerging with GRACE

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin SeventhYear Aldred Home/ Front Porch Ronyo appeared on the front steps of the Aldred house with a pop. He had seen Marina's parents show up and take her home after the event with the Family. They had sounded upset and likely the way most parents tended to react to life threatening ordeals that their children decided to get involved in. Ronyo's mother was unique in that regard as she trusted her son and also understood that he was going to try and help people no matter how much she tried to stop him. The best she could do was make sure he was protected as much as possible and prepared for whatever life threw at him. That was a fortunate thing for Ronyo, and also being that he was now past the trace age meant he was capable of doing almost anything he wished. For Ronyo that just meant more of the same, but for now he wanted to check on his fellow Chimera and also see if he could take some of the heat of her for what happened, it was Ronyo who sent the letter after all. He gave a knock on the yellow door and looked around the nice stone house with a smile. A simple garden lined the front windows and there was even a white picket fence gating off the backyard. Ronyo could to suppress a chuckle as he thought that a Slytherin lived here. He chuckled some more and shook his head when he remembered his own house and its forest backyard, again not really something people think about when the picture Slytherin. This was likely going to be a tough conversation as Ronyo would be telling Marina's family that he sent the letter that likely had her coming to help them. He really had not intended for the young Chimera to join in the final rescue but they had all seemed so adamant about helping. He would have to leave the Chimera part out of the talk, because that would probably not go over well either. Ronyo took a deep breath, adjusted his white fedora he liked to wear from time to time and green long coat, being as fall was around the corner with school getting closer and closer, and waited for someone to answer the door.

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin Seventh Year Aldred Home/ Front Porch A blonde man answered the door introducing himself as Dustin Aldred, Marina's father. He looked like a reasonable man but also held a look that spoke of someone who loved their daughter a great deal. He had answered politely and not shown any aggressive or overly nosey intentions which had Ronyo curious to the man's house placement during his school years. This man did not seem like someone who was from the house of silver and green, did that mean Marina's mother was the Slytherin or was Marina just an odd fish in the pond? With a smile Ronyo took his hat off and gave a nod as he introduced himself. " Hello, I'm Ronyo Storm a housemate of Marinas. I was with Marina during the events a few days ago in the small town. I was hoping to discuss what happened to maybe help shed a bit more light on the matter for you, and I also wanted to make sure Marina was doing ok after the incident."

"So you're that Ronyo. Marina mentioned you to us. You're one of her friends, yes?" The word housemate implied that the boy was a Slytherin, Dustin reflected. He didn't like Slytherins, besides his daughter anyways, who really should have been a Ravenclaw or at least a Gryffindor, but Marina would be furious if he said anything. So he held his tongue and tried to curb back his Hufflepuff instincts to brace for a snide remark or insult. This Storm boy seemed nice enough, even if he was a snake. "Well, come in then. I'm sure Marina will be happy to see a school friend, particularly one she fought along side. My wife will want to speak to you too." He led Ronyo into the living room where Bernadette and Marina were waiting. "This is Ronyo Storm." he introduced the boy to his wife. "This is Bernadette, my wife and Marina's mother."
