"No one like him." Jaimie joked, surprise in his voice. "How DOES Bell feel about getting pumpkin muffins and coffee from Gaston?" He asked. It was at least kind of a funny role, and definitely less awkward than playing Beast.

He hadn't been expecting to get a fairly major part, let alone the central villain, but he wasn't going to argue either. Gaston was an a** but he would, the more he thought about it, be hilarious to play. It might even be a bit of good stress relief. He spent so much of his waking hours playing good guy, playing pretend as a bad guy would be an interesting change. Also he was the Senshi of Pride and lord knew Gaston had that in spades.

Bell laughed a bit, "Well, it is certainly unexpected, but, certain things considered, a little fitting," she grinned.

Bell could wait until rehearsal to see who else had gotten what, since it wasn't like she'd recognize any of the names. In fact she rarely bothered to get to know any of her fellow cast members by their real names. Kind of like being a senshi.

"What do you think about the role?"

"I think it'll be fun to play a harmless villain for a little while." He admitted. "Gaston is all shallow strut and bluster, I think I can manage that." He was pretty sure that was what some people thought of him anyway. Apparently the 'dumb blond' stereotype wasn't just for girls. "I mean it's a much bigger part than I expected and I'm a bit worried what it says about the other applicants that I got it, but I guess I'm also kinda flattered?"

It was a complicated mess of feelings to be sure.

"Well if you need any help with anything outside of auditions, let me know," Bell said as she stepped up to read who else was still on, or new, to the cast. As expected, no one she knew, although some of the original cast still remained.

"I did the play a few years back as part of the ensemble, so for me it's largely learning the blocking and brushing up of the script."

Bell never put much stock in the 'dumb blond' stereotype. She believed that stupidity was colorblind. Especially looking at some people who definitely could not use hair color as an excuse... But dumb blonde wasn't something she'd use to describe Jamie, granted the circumstances of their meeting up was usually because of something serious, or they had more serious, subdued, things to talk about. It really just supported the opinion that both could use more fun in their lives.

Thank goodness for Halloween.

"I watched it a couple times, but definitely never played it." He admitted. Disney still wasn't his go-to for films, much as he was getting excited for the part. "Speaking of which, am I going to have to beat down crazed junior actors for stealing their role?" He asked (half seriously). "I'd hate to have to go all henshin on some punk." He dropped into the most ridiculous, pseudo gang pose he could think of to indicate the extreme levels of 'not at all serious' he was about henshining up to fend off role starved understudies.

Bell laughed a bit, "Some butt-hurt freshmen, maybe, but they'd be dumb for picking a fight with the very embodiment of pride."

Senshi of Pride... Gaston... Eh, well if Bell hadn't already been convinced that their lives were some horrible cosmic joke, she was now.

"I just hope whoever this guy is that is playing the Beast isn't some massive jerkwad."

Oh, but poor Bell - said person inevitably was - even though she didn't know it yet. It would be a great test of personal fortitude.

"Well if he is I guess it'll make my eventual 'kill the beast' spiel more convincing." He encouraged. "Maybe we can get the audience to participate in running him off if he's a huge dink. Beauty and the Beast, the new Rocky Horror" He joked, hoping for her sake that it wouldn't come down to that. Although realistically if the guy was a jerk, Beast was more likely to get taken out by Beauty before Gaston rallied enough people even for a Monopoly game.

"The irony of the role is definitely not lost on me." He laughed. "No one youma-busts like Gaston?"

"Something like that. Although, I guess it's more like self-centered douchbaggery than pride, in Gaston's case..."

Then the thought of Disney Gaston in a sailor-skirted fuku popped into her head and it was all she could do not to react externally, in either laughter or a cringe.

"Either way, it should be a fun role. Like mocking the real self-entitled, self-centered, assholes. That's always fun," she grinned.

Over the years senshidom had made Bell much less tolerant and forgiving of people and their actions. She just couldn't put up with derpiness and jerks like she use to. Instead of being a b***h like the rest of her peers in high school, Bell had evidently saved it for afterwards. But when people acted like complete idiots and expect the world to fall at their feet any everyone to serve and worship them and their herp-derpness....they deserved the mockery and the bitchiness. At least that was how she saw it.

Maybe she was just too high string after all these long years of fighting. How many years had it been now? Bell really needed something good in her life. Some fun and relaxation. She needed to let loose and unwind.

Maybe that was how Xavier had felt when he left to study abroad. Maybe that feeling was just too good, and it wasn't worth coming back to the stress and life-or-death seriousness that was being a senshi in Destiny City. She couldn't really blame him for that. The least he could have done was save her and her sister from it. Oh, who was she kidding - Bell wouldn't, couldn't, run. She would have felt horrible and so guilty... But Xavier hadn't even tried to convince her to leave it all behind! It hurt Bell's since of self worth that he wouldn't fight to keep her.

But Bell had done some serious thinking since then and she realized some things. One of which was that Xavier had been a huge burden. Every little setback the senshi faced, every failure, had always sent him in to some sort of depression, and Bell had always suffered the brunt of it, trying everything she could to help him through it, even when he refused that help, which was nine times out of ten. That had always hurt her and left her feeling horrible. And that happened far too often to outweigh the good times. Xavier was a 'suffer in silence and alone' kind of person, and Bell was the kind of person who wanted to make everything alright and try to cheer him up. And he shat on her every effort.

She didn't need that. She should be glad that she didn't have him in her life anymore to weigh her down like that. And she should take her freedom and enjoy it for herself, not worrying about making sure that anyone was happy or trying to be the wind beneath anyone's wings. She didn't want to be anyone's support.

Jaimie had been learning the independence that Bell took such pride in the slow and hard way. It had been an unpleasant wake up call that he was used to flying tandem, being in Orbit with another person. He was getting better at it, but he wouldn't have said he was at her level yet.

"Yeah, Hell. All I have to do is be who I used to think I was." He joked, raking his fingers through his hair. Life had been so simple when his entire life needed to be no deeper than his shallow social set.

"Also if the costume is anything like in the show you can see my manly, manly chest." He grinned, flashing her a teasing wink.

"I can't imagine you ever being half as bad as some people," Bell commented, although admittedly she had only known Jamie for maybe a couple of years, and barely interacted much at all in that time, "But, certain cosmic events certainly does change a person...."

Unlike Jamie, Bell had been 'alone' pretty much all her life. As soon as she was old enough she had been shipped off to boarding schools and pretty much taking care of herself. If Jamie was a lion, than Bell was a...well out of all the solitary big cats, Bell probably came closest to a snow leopard - solitary, beautiful, and the Mac operating system comes to mind, which was a very vague nod to her father's company which develops programs for mac computers... Oh, but enough of that.

Turning comments back to the costumes, Bell added, "I'll see what I can do about the costume though," and she grinned, "Don't want the audience bodice ripping and fainting on us, now do we?"

"This is where I should probably be terminally nerdy and make a Hark the Vagrant joke, but I'll pass. But yeah...I don't know. I kind of assume I had my pretty bad moments, it's just harder to recognize how bad they were or weren't from the inside." He shrugged. "Don't think I was ever full blown Gaston though. If I ever pulled one of his 'wymin are dumb' lines, Cee would have strangled me, and my mom would have let her."

Bell shrugged, "The past is what it is. In the end the little things we do that we wish we could forget....we're the only ones likely to even remember them tenyears down the road. Only thing you can do is focus on the now. And the future."

Bell had done plenty of things she'd rather forget. She knew she'd always remember them, but the witnesses seemed to quickly forget. Or maybe it just wasn't such a big deal to them like it was to her... Like the role of Mimi.

"I guess you're right..." He looked distant for a second, and it wasn't too hard to guess that he was thinking of something he'd definitely remember ten years from now... his failed proposal on a snowy night.

"...Speaking of things no one else will remember." He suggested abruptly, as the thought spun out of no where. "I should take you to Regulus sometime.Great place to work on your tan." He joked, though really he was debating trying to reassemble some of the smaller pieces of mosaic he remembered seeing.

"hm," Bell smiled a bit, "Sounds fun. I haven't even been to my star..." But given her view on the past and what not, that was no big suprise.

And perhaps it was for the better. She didn't know it, but only bad flashbacks awaited her there. So much of her past was tied with a certain senshi of a certain asteroid, and she was better off not knowing that. Because the past doesn't always have to repeat itself. She'd always scoffed at that 'learn from the past so history doesn't repeat itself' bullshit anyway.Times change, circumstances change, people change. Nothing is ever the same.

"It's probably more fun with company, it's so...empty." He offered, thinking of his previous visits to his home. "Pretty but really empty. In a sort of "Dude they should film Dune here" kind of way. But it would be a great trip if we decide we're tired of cold weather."
