Wait, he didn't really answer her question. There was one person she knew that would do that, only one person she knew that would stroke her hair and stay at her side. She hadn't seem him for so long, her heart ached for him when she wasn't distracted by everything else, and Ofelia struggled to move her arm. It hurt, she had an IV in it, but somehow she managed to get it bent enough that she cough reach upward.
Gingerly, every so timidly, Ofelia's fingertips touched Before's hand that was on her head and she and pulled it down, Pressing the back of her hand to her cheek, she closed her eyes, faint tears forming at the corners of her eyes. It was him, it had to be him right?
Her brother, so long ago, so long lost.
"Brother. . . Lucas. You came for me, I've missed you so much." She was still just mouthing the words, but she was going slow enough that anymore looking could read what she was saying. "Lucas, Lucas. . . "
Before wasn't there anymore, he couldn't be there. Ofelia's brother was there, he had to be, and the tears that welled against her eyes started to slide down her cheeks. He was there, he was there.
She'd missed him so badly.
She'd mistake Before for her brother.

Well, this was awkward, to say the least. Before wasn't sure what Ofelia was babbling on about and reading lips wasn't exactly his strongest suit but he did manage to make out the repeated Lucas bit. The Mist didn't know what to make of it and why he felt so... weird about the whole thing. So instead, he rolled with the punches. Because whoever this Lucas was, it was apparent Ofelia needed him more than she needed Before.
"It's okay, Ofie, it's okay," Before murmured, switching the nickname he reserved just for her in favor of her usual. "What were you up to, silly girl?" His voice was soft, gentle, with an undertone of concern and worry.

"My fault, my fault" It was all she could say, all her lips could repeat again and again as Ofelia's brain thinly registered that someone was talking. At the back of her skull a buzz was starting to come forward, like a wave of static ready to overwhelm everything, and the faint moments she had while still aware were starting to be snatched from her.
All at once the color drained from her skin, leaving her ashy and sickly pale, and the hand that had been holding onto Before's dropped itself to her side. Her breathing was starting to grow shallow, her eyes opened and stared at nothing, and a single tear dropped down the side of her face. "Tell Before. . . I'm sorry. . . Lucas."
And then there was nothing as she went down, one of the machines to her right screaming loudly.

Brows knitted together in confusion (well, more than they already were) at the apology. But before Before could ask what she meant by it, the shrill noise from the machine cut him off. A gloved hand slammed hard on top of the panic button. Repeatedly.
On the tenth time, the Misty kept his hand on the button, refusing to let the signal subside until a lone medic appeared. "WOMAN DOWN!!! BAD STUFF!! DO SOMETHING!!!!!" Before screamed, frantically waving and pointed towards the unconscious Sunny.
The medic was quick to call for additional hands and it wasn't that long (though it felt like an eternity to the Misty) before more medics came. One of them ushered Before out, saying he'd only get in the way. He'd wait for them to finish, or rather he started to say that except the glare he was met with indicated he would be forcibly removed if he pressed on.
