Lex gave a quick smile to the rest of the men in the room. "Name's Lex, woke up a week or so ago."

Rep actually rolled his eyes at Ro's comment before giving Lex an actually vaguely amicable wave. "Sup."
"And it's only hell when guys act like pouty little bitches. Hopefully we can have a man's poker game."

"Well, poker's not a woman's sport, I can tell you that much." A smirk, and a crack of the knuckles. "Unless it involves certain rules."

"Hey, you two. Cool it." He said, looking to Ro and then Rep. Melvin was inspecting the cards, sighing when he pulled out a few extras he saw. Seeing as this was a borrowed deck, he could only assume that whatever card games the tech he got them from played games more in his favor.
He looked up to Lex and smiled. "Well, someone newer than me for once. Name's Melvin. What division are you in?" It was nice not to be the newest guy around here, and he hoped that some of the newbie attention would now be passed over to Lex.
Melvin did notice Otto sulking, and was rather annoyed considering Melvin was even bothering to extend the game to let Otto in, but guessed he might perk up with the people he liked around him. As for the Ro, Rep, and Otto drama, he'd have to see.
"Yeah, this is a man's game, so no acting like a little girl if things don't go your way." Or bringing up drama just for the sake of starting something.

"Yeah...newbie." Lex smiled, rolling his eyes inwardly. He passed most of these guys up in years, yet they could still mess with him about being fresh. "Life division."

A flicker of unhappiness in Jordan's eyes was the only sign that he still felt guilty over what had happened with Ro and Rep; the conflict might not be directly his fault, but he was certainly involved. Still, he said nothing about it until the snippy little exchange occurred. He was opening his mouth to attempt to mediate when Melvin spoke up, shutting down the spat before it began.
Melvin got a grateful glance and a nod. The guy was proving to be a practical and effective person; Jordan decided he liked him.
"Welcome to Deus," he said to Lex, keeping his voice neutral and light, giving him a noncommittal smile. "Your life has just become a hundred times more bizarre. You'll get used to it."

Jerry had been avoiding twitter. He had been avoiding a lot of things. Except for the things he wasn't supposed to be avoiding, which he had been carefully rationing via his old trusty flask, dug up from what remained of his belongings after the last time the dorms had been destroyed.
He was wandering aimlessly when he heard the voices. A party? It sounded like a party. If he had been invited, he had missed the memo, but at that point, he didn't much care.
And parties meant maybe more to drink.
At least he was dressed and not just in his jumpsuit, although as he poked his head into the room of bustling boys, he wished he had remembered his coat. Amongst the familiar faces was at least one he had never seen. He pulled back into the hall again for a nervous swig before returning his flask to his back pocket, straightened his Hawaiian shirt, attempted to straighten his oily mop of hair, and plastered on his best smile. Jordan was in there. No need to worry.
"Ah... hey guys. Is this a private party? Or should I have brought the guitar?"

Marcus walked by, stopped, looked at them, the cards, and said,
"Don't kill each other. Also right now the rumor is Jungle Duty shifts are going to be rescheduled. Cleaning duty, pod duty, observation and lighthouse, however, have been set."
Marcus had his fill of games a few months ago. He was good.
"Tell me how it goes."

Melvin smiled to Lex. "I'm Life too. Still new. About a month." He pointed out, and was rather surprised it had been that long. "Everyone, introduce yourselves." He told them, seeing as new people liked to know who everyone was and it helped when you were going to play a game. Melvin liked to know everyone's name when he first met them all. To one fellow new guy to another, he wanted him to not feel out of place. Lex was providing a service after all in making Melvin not the newest person around. Life too. Hopefully the techs around here would divert their attentions.
To Jordan, Melvin did not smile back. Part of his mix up was because of him, and he wasn't doing Jordan the favor right now. He just wanted to play his game. Still, he didn't hate the guy. He just wasn't sure what was going on, and really didn't like the drama.
Then in came Jerry, who was wearing at least a clean shirt and not the horrible janitor ensemble from before. "It's not a private party, Jerry. Pull up a chair. We're playing poker. There are vending machine snacks on the table." He looked at his shirt, but decided not to comment. It was a tropical jungle outside. A Hawaiian shirt was almost appropriate. Almost. "We don't need guitars for poker. This isn't a mixer at a fraternity and you're not hooking up with anyone here by playing Wonderwall." He scooted his chair to allow more chairs to be pulled up to Otto's bed, aka the makeshift poker table.
He then started to divide a bit of change to all of them. "We'll use these as poker chips. Pennies are 10. Nickles are 100. Dimes are 1,000. Got it?" He told everyone, dividing up even change among each person. He didn't have anything to serve as chips anyways, and change was as better than anything.

Leon stared at jerry and his bright Hawaiian shirt. "No need for a guitar jerry, we aren't going to be having a sing along at a poker game." he added to solidify Melvin's statement. and shot an eyebrow up at his divisions new recruits. "All theses people in life and i had no clue." he stated plainly as he stared at the sun chip in his hand, turning it around and studying if it was suitable for digestion.
"Just run away if you hear Clarice needing someone to do archiving." he stated with a frown before munching on the chip.

Robert let out a sharp laugh as Roland introduced himself, and as his adrenaline was still pumping hard from his tousle with Rep, his sarcasm level was high.
"Sup Ro, my name's Didn't Ask Don't Care." He rolled his hand into a fist and greeted the new male with a light punch to the head.
"Oh s**t, poker. I'm gonna sweep you ladies under the rug. LET'S GO." Both fists slammed on the table, before he plopped down in a seat, cracked every one of his meaty, thick knuckles, and gave the group a grin that explained what the phrase 'card shark' could have actually meant.*
*There were a lot of teeth visible ok.

Robert's fist was met with a lazy half assed hand wave to keep it away from his head. "Alright alright, pardon me for being I don't known, polite? I haven't met half the people here properly as is."
He looked to Leon next shrugging his shoulder. "I've only met one other Mist properly since getting here and that was Candace." Silent word of thanks to her for dragging his a** off the training field, Jordan got one too but he was ignoring him for the moment as well.
Finally he looked at Jerry as he collected his change suppressing a desire to chuckle at the other hunter. He might be in a foul mood, but the Hawaiian shirt just seemed horribly out of place on the island. "No guitar, just poker, two hospital inmates, and a bunch of junk food."

Rep had no intention of replying to Ro in any event - even before Melvin spoke up - he was still fairly content to let him stew in his own bad mood, he wasn't about to start anything more than that. That didn't stop Melvin from getting a fairly icy look from Rep, he didn't like being ordered to do anything and the very request to cool it made him want to kick up s**t intentionally.
He might well have continued his sniping had Jordan not been there, his presence at once reassuring and a subtle nudge to toe the damn line.
There was a lot of life newbies kicking around the facility lately he thought to himself as Lex introduced himself, it made sense he supposed, their tech was their central weapon against the monsters and s**t and it needed to be top notch. It was just such a ******** downside that it meant more slimy lifers betting on misfortune and drama. Life division existed, that didn't mean he had to like it.
"Thank ******** you didn't." Was Rep's reply to Jerry, along with a not particularly cruel smirk.
That was a loud shirt. He kind of approved, it might have looked more fitting on a big fat party animal but it didn't look too terrible on Jerry, maybe he was getting over Sasha a bit, out on the town.
He picked up the change and frowned to himself just a bit before squinting carefully at a few of the coins to read them. It didn't help. "Erm. None of these things say nickle or dime on them man. Or penny even." He felt like a moron saying it at all and tried not to linger too long on it, putting the change down irritably.
"And I don't think I need to intro myself but whatever. I'm Rep." he shrugged and got to work on a bag of crisps he'd laid claim to, quietly pining for some hot chocolate to accompany them.
