When she turned, Wolverine was nowhere in sight. The waters seemed as tame as they could possibly be after she jumped out of them with such haste. Perfect cover of motion. Finally, the water had settled and an eerie silence fell over the scene. The moment they started to wonder if the waters had claimed him, he lunged upwards from the edge of the lake, claws aimed at her stomach.

Lupa's eyes widened from their smug set, thinking the waters had gotten him. Oh but how wrong she had been. He lunged out, those long claws slicing through the air at her that seemed almost slow-motion. Lupa had the knee-jerk reaction of falling backwards, a few of his claws sliced through the skin on her stomach and another on her thigh that was in the way. Yelling at the pain, she stabbed her talons at his face and neck, hoping to claw his throat or eyes out. Lupa didn't play when she fought. She went for the throat and major veins.

He growled as her talons dug into his neck, grabbing her forearm and putting his other fist to her chest, prepared to pop his claws. Suddenly, the scene stood still as a thunderous set of footsteps marched towards the mass group of hunters and the two feral warriors fighting in the center. Wolverine lowered his hand, turning his head and staring as the great Tyrannosaurus Rex towered above, letting out a gargantuan roar that shook the trees and pounded their ears. The hunters tossed wooden spears, not hardly piercing the dinosaur's skin. The beast leaned down and took a massive bite of the hunting party, taking four or five of them for his lunch.
Logan pulled her hand from his throat, turning back to face her. "Looks like you just found something else to hunt!" He said, putting aside their conflict for the time being, his wounds slowly starting to reform tissue.

Lupa paused with confusion but the thunderous stomps and roar quickly cleared that up. "********!" Lupa cursed and withdrew from her attack on Wolverine. "Don't throw anything, don't move, don't make noises. You know the damn drill!" She stopped moving and talking instantly after that. T-rex went solely on vision and moment. So as long as they were still tio would eat the boar and leave them alone. It was too late though, T-rex snapped its head over at them in one jerk movement. Lupa held onto Wolverine to keep him still. The warning glare he got told him that if any more of her people got killed cause he moved, she would feed him to the t-rex herself.

Logan stayed perfectly still for a moment, but that wasn't going to last long. His eyes darted to the half-eaten corpses laying on the ground, moving but a moment ago. No way is she gonna let this big old b*****d go after takin' a bite of her... tribal constituency, is she? Out of the corner of his eye he spied a child crying. The father must have brought him for his first hunt and found himself dinosaur food. The T-Rex heard it and pointed his head for the child, roaring and took a step in his direction.
"Hell with this!" He yelled, running towards the beast in a feral rage. Birds scattered above the skyline and monkeys ran from their trees as the dinosaur rampaged. Logan took a flying leap, jabbing his claws into its side. The dinosaur cried out in pain, thrashing around and trying to shake him off. He kept stabbing and climbing with his claws as the dinosaur thrashed its tail about, taking out a few trees with its tail. He finally made it to the underside of its head, jabbing his claws rapidly into the monster's jugular as it thrashed about.

Lupa cursed and ran towards the child before Wolverine even moved. Who the ******** brought their child?! There were no children on the hunts! This was precisely why she abolished the tradition till they were at least teens. Gee, the population rose after that rule went into effect, wonder why? Maybe cause they weren't all killed by beasts? She was halfway to the kid but why wasn't the dino attacking her? Flicking her eyes over, she saw Logan attack the beast. Dayuumm. She could kill the thing, true, but it was an apex predator that kept this place balanced. Death was a common theme here in the Lands, not that she wanted her people killed... but sometimes they were... well... stupid. It floored her sometimes. They lived here! So why make noise and move around while a t-rex, who went on vision and sound, was smashing about? Just let it take the boar and they can keep living. It payed sometimes to be non-aggressive. Lupa grabbed the boy and hid him behind a large tree next to the lake. "Stay here, and 'sssshhhh' okay?" She whispered softly. While Wolverine kept the best busy, she recalled all her people back to the city. They dragged the wounded to be fixed and dead to be.... properly buried. Looking around the tree, it was clear to her that Wolverine had killed the T-rex. As the beast fell to the ground with a ground shaking thud, Lupa had a front row seat to see Wolverine emerge victorious. Well.... how lovely. Another apex predator dead.. now thy would be overrun with smaller more veracious dinos... like velociraptors.

Soaked in the blood of a once-extinct predator, Wolverine kept slashing and tearing until nothing was left of the monster's throat. The beast, in shock from blood loss, collapsed into the lake, creating a massive cannonball effect. The water was tainted with blood, and the lake filled with blood. The dinosaur drowned in his own blood, and the fight was over.
Wolverine emerged from the water, roaring as his feral rage left him. He slumped over, panting. A recap of the situation: Ka-Zar is dead, he assaulted Royalty, and he just killed a dinosaur with his bare hands.
Sighing, Logan cleared his throat. "Been one of those days, right Rex?"

With just her and Wolverine there to deal with whatever happened next, the scene was eerily quiet. "Impressive." Her voice broke through even though it was softened. "But rather unfortunate. The balance in this area has tipped." When one killed a much needed predator, the prey usually doubled either a while later of the next season when the young run rampant. Though she could not be mad at him, he had essentially saved lives. "Thank you." She was not accustomed to thanking outsiders. "What do you want to do now?" It was up to him cause what she wanted was for him to leave. But it was unwise to go up against a person you knew to be highly volatile and dangerous. Luckily this lake wasn't a water source for her people. "There is a waterfall where we bathe. Eagle's Fall. You can get cleaned there." Well it paid to be courteous, she wasn't that stupid. Not that she couldn't take on the Wolverine.

He waded through the blood in the lake, a familiar feeling. There was hardly anything on this blue marble and beyond that he hadn't killed two or three of. Some were more common than others. Men were monsters all their own, though. They deserved some sub-classes. Soldiers, criminals, terrorists, innocents... He'd killed them all, and he'd felt their blood. Just as warm as this.
He barely heard what she said. His ears were still ringing. Moving past her, he spoke. "Show me the way." It was probably louder than it should've been.

Lupa looked him up and down and blinked once, before leading the way to Eagle Falls. "So what will you do now? Are you planning to stay or leave?"
