When Atheris was younger, his mother had always told him that if he kept making frownie-faces (or ugly faces, or funny faces for that matter) his face would someday be frozen forever, contorted and mangled. He was starting to think his mother might have been correct in that - Atheris was almost certain that the only expression his face could form was a heinously scouring frown.
As the tool rolled against his foot, Atheris pursed his lips as he cleared his throat. It looked disturbing, to say the least, but... well.
"That's a relief," he grumbled softly, holding the tongue-tool with one paw while briskly rubbing his opposite paw against it with the other. As he worked, his idle gaze wandered - what he saw only cemented the perceived fact that Priestesses were creepy and weird and best left to their own devices.
He'd be sure to avoid her in the future.
"Done," he whuffed noisily.

After assuring herself that he wasn't going to ruin her prosthetic tongue, Nadja began to clean up. She hated to have her workspace messy, and without a thrall to do her work for her, that task fell to her. She wouldn't trust just any thrall with it anyway. Too much could go wrong.
"You may go," she said when he announced that he was done. "Leave the tongue on the large trencher outside."
She would clean that later. It would take more care to clean because she didn't want to touch it with her bare paws, but she had experience in that, too.
"You were useful," she said, whether or not he heard her. "You should be proud of that."
