Afinas cubs were missing? A frown creased his forehead and he gave a nod to the younger male. "Gather as many guards as you can." He states, his thick accent full of seriousness for once. He could be thought of as a jolly sort of giant but this, this sounded far too serious. What was happening he wondered? Perhaps the cubs would just be hiding too well for his grand daughter. He had a very sinking feeling. Padding towards the Pombuka's nursery the big dark male cleared his throat as he arrived his tail flickering. He looked around there were lots of cubs here, mothers, Pombuka, and a frantic looking Afina.

"Alright now, settle, all Pombuka stay here with the cubs that are here, that includes you lass." He eyes his blue granddaughter seriously. "Stay put, tha guards will find um." He grunts and turns tail heading towards the outposts and the guards that would be there. He had a very bad feeling about this.

Afina stood and was about to object, only fr once,s he saw the serious look in her grandfathers eye "Yes grandfather." She whispers, sitting down her whole form shaking, she was so frightened, so very frightened. Where were her babies?

Fireheart growled quietly as the voices of the lions began to carry through the breeze down to where she and the cubs were. Where were the rest of her pridemates? She couldn't do this on her own, after all. There were far too many cubs and just one of her.

Thankfully the cubs didn't seem to hear the calls and continued their game. She couldn't get an eye on one long enough to pounce, though, and continued to bide her time. This was getting rather frustrating and she narrowed her eyes as she waited. This was supposed to have been a very simple mission, and it was turning very slowly into a disaster.

[Oh look at that! XD Then I'll keep going!]

The wind was blowing the scents of a few lions towards her, and Fireheart started to grow worried. She had no doubt in her mind that she could outrun anyone that found her, and they were still far enough away that she could get a cub. One of them appeared to have disappeared already, so that was good. Her pridemates were sneakier than she gave them credit for.

Moving her location a bit, she frowned as the wind died down. Now she'd have to rely on sound alone to tell how close the other lions were getting. They were still small dots in the distance, though, so she had a few minutes at the very least.

Furiko slipped through the underbrush easily enough. He remembered the path he had taken to get to the heart of the pride from when he had come to scout with Tulio and Miguel. After they had made it back from the mission Furiko had volunteered to go back in to help capture the cubs. Catching them was going to be a bit like hunting except instead of strangling his prey he would snatch it up and disappear back to the pride with it.

Furiko slowed as he got closer to the heart of the pride. He knew the cubs would be somewhere among that area. He could see the den where the cubs were usually kept from his hiding spot. He noted the nervous and worried mummers and had a feeling that a couple of his pride mates had already managed to snatch a few cubs. As he listened he heard the lions speaking of a whole litter of lost cubs and he knew he wasn't that late to the party. A litter of cubs was wandering around alone he just had to find one of them to capture.

Something was amiss, and even from his place beyond the dens, the tension in the air was unmistakable. He had been silent for much of the day, taking part in his own meditation and study while the pride went about its daily business. However, as the sun began to sink beneath the trees the hair on the back of his neck began to quiver and rise - every instinct called to him that something had gone wrong. He was never one for dramatics, but he was also never one to ignore his instincts and as such, it was with a sense of purpose that the lion slipped down from the cliff and wandered down the beaten tracks towards the main pride.

...It was hear that he heard the fabled words, "they're missing".

It took him a further few moments to realise that it was the cubs they were referring to and due to the rather precarious and weakened position of the pride, this wasn't the best news in the world he could have heard! However 'missing' did not necessarily mean something terrible, he was a father himself, although his daughter had grown some time ago...and even he knew that sometimes cubs could be disobedient. He could only hope that they were hiding rather than a more unfortunate incident occurring.

A few minutes of silence followed as he surveyed his pride before he glanced to Gino, the soft voice of the Genet reaching his ears.

"You are in the Bahari'mtoto - as for what's going on... I'm not entirely sure at this moment in time," the pride leader replied, his brow furrowing deeply.

It was then that he sucked in a breath and let out what could only be described as a roar, a demand for some clarity in the midst of what could only be described as panic. "Would someone be so kind as to explain the reason behind this chaos?" he boomed.







Meanwhile, a certain cub was wandering nearby. She hadn't been hiding as her siblings had, she had just been exploring in a less than visible place. She wasn't far from the dens but she also wasn't where she should have been either. Out of sight and decidedly vulnerable on one of the pathways, she had been left to her own devices and was currently in the process of sniffing out and admiring the evening plant life.

...Truth be told, she'd no idea that some of them bloomed in the evening!

The roar of the pridal leader may have reached her ears, but as it was muffled beneath the foliage, she barely understood what had been said. How little she knew about the chaos that awaited her back home!

(Holy cheese, my brain was eaten by work and a headache this past week xd ;; Forgive me here as some of Dimbwi's post reflects some of my poor timing in getting a reply in!)



Dimbwi had awoken that morning with an uneasy feeling. Despite it, she'd gone with two of her sons to play with Afina's cubs. After all, two pairs of eyes were SURELY better than one, right? Which hadn't ended well when she'd arrived to see the panic. As she started to usher her cubs back and to safety... One was nabbed. A deep panic filled her as her eyes widened. "GANESH!" She started after the offending lion, then had to stop, hurrying back to Dhiren. She had to protect her other cub... She'd have to go after Ganesh after things quieted down. She looked around, trying to find a friendly face. Her eyes soon landed on Ram as he roared and, ushering Dhiren, she hurried over as fast as she could. "Ram! Ram, someone is stealing cubs!"

The jet black lion walked up to ram, he had heard the roar and rather than panic at the words that the green female spoke, the old male gave a nod. "Had a feelin summit bad was happen'" he growls, his ears flattening back. "I'm jus on mah way at tha borders lad, tha guards need tabe tol." he lets out a heavy sigh.

"wish I knew ow tha blighters got in pas tha guards though, must be right sneaky." he shakes his head, he was starting to feel responsable for the slip. How many random lions were in their borders? How many cubs had been taken? He didn't know and it frightened him. The only other time he had felt this afraid was during the tsunami.

The giant old black male gave a quiet grunt, his face turning stern all traces of the usually jovial nature gone. "if ya be needin me, ah'll bout be on tha borders." he turns his attention to the sea green female and sighs. "I be thinkin ya should go back to tha pombuka lass, watch tha cubs tha are left." he licked his lips uncomfortably "don tell afina." he shakes his head and starts off towards the grass verged borders.

With word of cubnappting reachig his ears, Vainamo's search grew even more urgent - looking for cubs and cubsnatchers both. Oh if he got his paws on whoever had snatched one of the little fellas....

Okay, so vainamo wasn't sure he had it in him to hurt someone, but... But he had to get those cubs back!!
