Spring? That was her favorite time of the year! Dragon flies, and new chicks, and all sorts of beautiful things. Plus, Spring was another time when it rained and flooded out the swamps.
"I love Spring!" She beamed, "It's so interesting - and cool to meet you!" She sounded like an annoying teenage girl, but she was growing along her journey, and this was a stepping stone.
"I can't wait to tell my family." the thought that maybe they'd already made it back to the swamps, or never would wasn't going to cross her mind yet.

"I'm very glad to hear that, Mkia," she said brightly, pleased with the excited reaction her completed introduction earned from the young lioness, "I'm sorry I haven't got any suggestions for you name-hunt but I'm glad I've given you a story to tell when you get to go home."

A small part of her wanted to rush and tell her siblings, but she wouldn't even begin to know where to find them, or if they'd already found their names and headed back. Her older siblings hadn't all come back by time she left for her own adventure.
"I will find my name, for now Mkia isn't so bad, even for a child's name." she smiled, "Thanks for taking the time to chat with me, even if it wasn't a bother."

Her ears twitched and turned back for a second as she heard the return of her avian friends to the tree she had been sleeping in. She managed not to look away from Mkia, though, figuring she had been rude enough already.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, I hope you find your proper name soon," she said, "I won't keep you off task any longer, you ought to be on your way!"
She was smiling and while her tone was sweet and cheerful, there was a light seriousness in it. She was a mother, she had a stern voice- even if it wasn't nearly as stern as some mothers could manage.

Mkia picked up on the motherly-sternness in Maua's voice, and maybe just a little bit of the young lioness needed that motherly push. She'd been slacking off on trying to find a name and a future. She wished Baridi could guide her through everything, but moms were not meant to do that, birds left the nest - lions leave the den.
"I probably should get going," she bobbed her head, "I think I'll always remember meeting Spring herself. How can I forget."

Suddenly, Maua jumped, turning around and plucking a white flower from her braid. Very carefully, she took the few steps necessary to put her at Mkia's side and placed the flower by her ear.
"Here, for good luck," she said, "And so you won't forget."
She was positively beaming.
"Now, skedaddle~"

Mkia stood still as Maua placed the white flower behind her ear and she beamed right back at the Goddess of Spring.
"Thank you, I'm on my way." she inhaled, smelling the sweet scents of flowers and took a few steps forward. She didn't know why, but she felt a new found zeal for her quest, she was going to find a name.
A few more steps and she was on her way.
