Cricket didn't move even as the older human descended the ladder to retrieve his terrified son, crossing her arms and seeming to almost smile at the scene, even taking a moment to give the boy a small finger wave 'farewell' when he looked over his father's shoulder towards her.
She waited until the humans were up the ladder before she sat down in the dirt and settled in, peeling her ectoplasm apart with her fingers as she began to pull the dark purple chunks from inside of her out and tossed them out, hitting the ground with a sizzle and a hiss as they dissolved.
The air was thicker with FEAR than it had been before, and Cricket inhaled it like it was a delicious scent. Delicious, dangerous, and she'd be in deep trouble if those damn Boogies found out what she'd done to get it. Then again, maybe Red was working for them now and she'd be able to get her off the hook.
Cricket laughed at the thought, a noise that would echo harmlessly through the building for the next several days before she moved on again.
After all, there were small children about.
