Agave was very careful to keep from jarring his shoulder any more then necessary as he moved, he had to resist the urge to test it's range of mobility and try to stretch it out to check on the muscle, if he had done something to it then pulling on it would only make it worse. Though he tried not to openly limp it was impossible to keep a small hitch out of his stride. The display of his wounds made him nervous and he scented the air when Aquitaine paused at the meadow, eyeing the area carefully before slowly following her into the wide expanse.

As far as he could smell and see there was nothing dangerous out and about today however. "It's still stiff." He told her "But no worse then before." Perhaps it just needed more time to head. Deciding not to worry about it - there was little to be done in any case he dropped his head to eat, the foreleg of his wounded limb however was favored unconsciously as he ate, only its tip resting on the ground and no weight placed on it. It was good to be out again, though he had only been cooped up for one night it was still far longer then one such as he was used to staying still.

A slight drumming of legs upon his back made him recall his spiders and while he was no where near as attached to them as his mother was - they were still his. Lifting his head he snorted at them. "Go..eat" He bid them and held still as they crawled down his form to scurry off into the grass.

Aquitaine lifted her head and nodded at Agave. "That's good, as long as it's not worse then that means it's likely just cramped from resting." It would have been painfully obvious, quite literally, if it was anything major after even such a short walk, there would have been throbbing pain or possibly more stiffness. The fact that it remained the same was a small reward, it just needed more time, much like so much else in life at this point. Her attention was drawn to the spiders when he spoke to them. She wasn't overly fond of arachnids. Walking in the trees and running into an invisible web was always an unpleasant thing, but she doubted there was much she could do about Agave's spiders. As long as they kept their distance from her then she would need to accept their presence until they chose to leave.

She wanted to ask about them, but help back her questions. It was best to look at his spiders as she looked at her dragon, an annoyance but a permanent part of life. The most she could do was ignore them, and the was her plan for now.

Gaul was a bit curious and concerned over Aquitaine's demand of him to watch guard over her clearing at night, though even stranger was the fact that she had asked him to stay out of it. It was rare for her to do that, often times she would want a few hours a privacy, just to think or sleep, but she had told him to not to come into the grove at all until she told him otherwise. That was strange, far too strange for Gaul's liking. But Gaul trusted his friend even if he felt uneasy over the situation. So when eh was returning from a slight patrol of the surrounding area he was pleased to see Aquitaine out in the meadow. Perhaps she had gotten over whatever was bothering her yesterday. Happy to see her he bounded forward..but then he saw something else, a green spiked beast not far from his friend.

How could she not notice such a wretched creature only a few strides away? "Aquitaine!" Gaul went instantly into action racing forward, head lowered charging at the green beast.

Agave's head snapped up as a strange voice rang out, the voice was calling out a warning..or was it a challenge, since he was unaccustomed to that particular style of voice it was difficult to tell. His multiple eyes scanned the area around him instantly picking out the form of the charging little beast. It was coming right for him and had horns..that was enough of the threat that Agave bellowed a challenge of his own and launched himself forward, powerful haunches driving him faster then his wounded shoulder could handle and he stumbled with that first stride, adrenaline and the proximity of an enemy however made him catch himself, ignoring the pain and burn in his shoulder at the maneuver.

He was weak and injured, his charge held only a fraction of the power it normally did, but he went on regardless doggedly attempting to eliminate this new threat before it did any damage. It was small, it would only take on good hit, and it certainly proved that this grove of Aquitaine's was hardly as safe as she claimed it to be!

Everything went from calm to exploding into violence in the blink of an eye. Aquitaine heard Gaul's yell and before she could even react Agave was charging towards the goat. That would rip open his shoulder. "Agave, no!" She called out and raced forward. Luckily with Agave's injured shoulder slowing him down she was easily able to get in front of him and turned to cut off his charge. "Gaul stop!" She cried out to her goat friend. This was a bad situation, Agave looked at Gaul as a threat, Gaul looked at Agave as a threat and Aquitaine was stuck stopping them both. "Agave, please he's a friend." She pleaded with the stallion, hoping he would stop, he had to for she had placed herself in his path. Agave would need to plow through her in order to get to Gaul.

See that beast was a threat. That bellow was a challenge and Gaul was willing to accept it. He continued to charge forward, bleating out his own challenge. He barely heard Aquitaine yelling at the beast but he did hear when she told him to stop. Letting out an indignant bleat the goat skidded to a stop. "He'll hurt you!" He cried out to his friend but was unwilling to charge through or around her to get to the green beast.

"No, Gaul, he's a friend." She tried to tell him but Aquitaine's attention was focused on Agave. Making sure she remained in his path she stared him down, almost daring him to charge into her. "Agave you must stop, you're shoulder!" He would have undone all the healing with this reckless charge. All this over a goat! But Aquitaine did see why Agave's had reacted the way he had, he saw Gaul as a threat and had gone instantly into action mode. This was something she would really need to work on with him, but that was for another time, right now she needed to stop this before it got any worse and see to his wounds.

It was easy to stop his charge, even easier then normal considering that it had been more like a stumbling attempt at a charge rather then the fearsome attack it typically was, certainly it had not lived up to the fearsome bellow he had utter in challenge when he started. What did live up to the bellow however was the fearsome look in his eyes and the vicious look on his face as he bared his teeth in anger.

Peering over Aquitaine and ignoring his shoulder - which was oozing a bit of blood again - the leaf having fallen off somewhere along the way Agave limped in a pacing fashion, ignoring an attempt to hide his injuries in his fury. Now that the beast wasn't running at him he could recognize it - vaguely - it looked nothing like the goats he called from his youth, there were the large mountain kind with curved horns..though his mother and She-ra had eradicated them from the mountain swiftly as pests. This one in comparison was quite puny and pitiful. "This foul beast attacked me!" He raged "It cannot be permitted to go unpunished!" He thundered, slipping into old habits without knowing it.

Gaul was not impressed with this newcomer, and while Aquitaine called him a friend, Gaul was not about to trust him. He snorted at the stallion but made no move to defend himself or challenge him again. This wasn't over, Gaul would not let this beast hurt Aquitaine.

"Stop that!" Aquitaine yelled, seeing the limp in Agave's pace, his wound was bleeding again. "Agave you are not doing your shoulder any good." Turning from the stallion she faced Gaul. "Gaul please, you have to understand he's a friend, he means me no harm. He's just not used to things here." Boy that was an understatement, but there was nothing she could do about that now as the current stand off between the two males was about as much as she could handle. Agave's voice broke through and her head spun to face him. "He did not attack you, he was trying to keep me safe! He didn't know you were a friend." Her eyes narrowed at Agave. "That thinking may go over well at the mountain but I will not punish Gaul for trying to protect me. Think before you speak next time Agave!" She chided him and instantly felt bad about it. Yelling at him like this would not get him to move away from his old ways.

"Now listen both of you." She said in a calmer voice addressing them both but remaining between the two stubborn beasts. "You are both my friends and I will not have you fighting for any reason. Gaul, Agave will be staying here for a while so I can help him heal, And Agave, Gaul has been with me for a long time, if it wasn't for him I would have never survived that skinwalker attack, you remember me telling you about that, don't you?" How could he forget it, they had only talked about it shortly before coming to the meadow. "Now you will both get along whether you like it or not. I will not have my friends causing trouble. Agave needs to rest and heal, and Gaul you need to allow him to do so and for me to help him." They were acting like a bunch of silly foals.

Gaul listened to Aquitaine but never let his eyes leave the frightful looking stallion. Only now did he see the limp in the stallions walk and wondered what had happened to him. "I don't trust him." He voiced his concern. "But if you say he is a friend then I shall leave him be...unless he does anything to harm you." Then it would be war.

Agave was still seeing red, as such most of what Aquitaine said and the pain in his shoulder was beyond his current comprehension. The little beast had attacked him,him a general of the mountain! How dare it! "No, it must be punished, I am..." and suddenly his voice trailed off as the wind went out of his sails in sudden realization...he was ..."Nothing" The word was said so softly, so quietly that the others would likely have trouble hearing it. Nothing - it was exactly what he was currently, he had no power, no status, no land...nothing. He was a wounded sick stallion living off the generosity of someone else and where he was going to go after that was still a mystery...and Aquitaine had said it herself even, He was only welcome for a little while.

"I am sorry, I think I am done eating" He stated, both in apology and in explanation as feeling somewhat defeated for the second time in as many days Agave turned about and limped quickly back to the sheltered grove, he didn't bother to hide his limp , he didn't even bother to hold his head up with the pride that typically defined him. There was no pride to be had in nothing.

Aquitaine saw the fire in Agave's eyes, was ready to argue with him more if needed to put an end to this minor conflict and then...it was over. As suddenly as it had started there was nothing left of it. Aquitaine stood there in stunned silence for a few moments as Agave headed back to the grove. She couldn't help but let out a sigh, this was going to be so hard on him, but he had to endure all these hardships so that he could become the Soquili he was truly meant to be, who that was Aquitaine wasn't sure and likely even Agave didn't know at this point, but now free from his mothers grasp he needed to start finding himself. Turning her attention to Gaul Aquitaine shook her head. "He needs time Gaul and plenty of it. Now do you understand why I told you not to come into the grove?

Gaul frowned but nodded. "Yes, I understand." He still didn't like it but there was no point to addressing that again. "Just be careful Aquitaine. I'll continue to keep watch over things while he heals so he can have the quiet he needs."

"Thank you Gaul." She lowered her head and gave her friend a quick nuzzle. "I best go see to him, that shoulder started bleeding again. I'll call you if I need anything." Turning Aquitaine hurried out of the meadow and back into the seclusion of the grove. Immediately she set to work gathering the supplies she would need to make a new batch of paste. What could she say to Agave at this point? Stop being the Soquili you were on the mountain, no that would only drive him away and he needed time to heal, time to change and deal with this new life. She would see that he got that and more, for that's what friends were for.

After grinding up the leaves and berries Aquitaine looked over at Agave. "I know this is hard for you, but know that I am here for you, I will help you in every way I can." But all the help in the world would mean nothing if he didn't accept it, everything weighed on Agave's choices. "Now, please lay down so I can look at your shoulder."

Agave made it back to the secluded grove in what was probably record time given his condition, sheer stubborn force of will had propelled him there, determined not to break down he tried to hold on to his anger because that at least was an emotion he knew how to deal with but as he stood there, his shoulder throbbing and his mind wheeling even that could not save him. His anger slipped from his grasp as quickly as his burst of energy and by the time Aquitaine returned he was more then willing to lay down again.

Grunting he did so, though he turned his head away and closed his eyes. He did not know how to deal with this - this apologizing and being ashamed of your actions, being helpless, being without a title to throw around in order to get what he wanted pretty much whenever he wanted it. It was too much, too much and he wasn't sure how he was going to deal with it. Squeezing his eyes closed he willed himself not to move as Aquitaine redressed his wound and he fought within himself.
