As Kye lifts the petite bird girl off the cobbled pathway, she sees that the girl stands a few inches short of five feet and was incredibly light. All in all, she could not have weighed more than 50 pounds and each blast of wind catches her feathers and threatens to blow her off Kye's back. However, with some concerted effort and the help of Sophia holding the door open, Kye safely got her back inside the shop.

As she set the bird girl down on the crates, a collective gasp went around the entire shop. All the eyes of the villagers and tourists trapped by the rain were now focused on the two who had just come in. As Sophia fetched the fabric from behind the counter, questioning murmurs began to go up around the shop. After a very pregnant pause, man stepped forward and spoke up. "Um, lady... I don't think you should bring that creature in here. L-look at those talons--I think it could hurt someone."

The bird girl's feet did contain an impressive set of talons. Each one was several inches long and looked to be razor sharp. They definitely gave the impression that she could do some serious damage with those claws if she chose--but the bird girl was still out cold and she didn't stir from where she lay.

The people in the shop gather around the bird girl, keeping a safe distance. After another moment or so, a different man, a tourist, spoke up from among the onlookers. His eyes were wide in realization. "I...I remember now. This...this monster...it's a harpy! They're evil songstresses! They eat people!" Another set of gasps rippled through the shop. People began to back further away from the bird girl. The atmosphere was beginning to get tense.

Kye finished pulling the water off the both of them and turned around to accept the fabric the other girl had managed to find. "Thank you, I hope so too. Tucking it under the bird-girl's head she continued to search for any extra signs of injury that she missed while outside. Though that was short lived as the crowd in the shop grew very uneasy and a man stepped forward to voice his concerns about the talons. Looking over at them herself, she could certainly see why he and the others were concerned. Her talons were indeed very long and sharp, though that was no reason to assume anything. "Look, I understand you're concerned, but she was hurt from the storm and I couldn't just leave her outside in that. And honestly, those talons are no more dangerous than if someone in here was carrying a knife or sword. It's not her fault she was born with them."

However her protest seemed to go unnoticed as the crowd gathered around closer examining her. Then another man from the crowd spoke up as if he realized something, terrified. He started in exclaiming she was a harpy, evil, ate people, and the crowd immediately backed off trying to get as far away as they could. Kye looked back over the bird-girl, taking in her limp form and remembering how scared and desperate she seemed back in the rain and refused to be swayed by these people's fears. It didn't matter what she was to Kye, and maybe she was being a bit presumptuous, but she wasn't going to throw her back outside in that state.

"That's enough!" Her authoritative nature was getting the better of her at this point. "I'm not throwing her out in this weather. No one, no matter who or what they are should be subjected to that, especially when they're injured as badly as she is. Even if she does wake up at this point, I really doubt she could do much to anyone, even with those talons. So everyone just needs to calm down." Kye could feel herself starting to get agitated. She didn't want to believe that this girl was 'evil' just based on her appearance alone. She'd lived her life for so long having people assume things about her just because of who she was, and she refused to do the same to someone else.

Jack, Jacky boy, the Jackster! He always referred to himself in such an odd manner, even in his own head. His ploy to steal was becoming ever more elaborate. He would pay a SMALL, but believable, fortune to the bar maid. She would then seduce the man sitting there with bulging pockets, not too much.

More of a subtle tease, because too much teasing could lead to a good throttle in the bedroom at the poor lasses expense! He wanted this to go clean, straight forward, and definitely worth every cent he paid her. He wanted a return on his, otherwise, large investment. She was going in for the targets weak spot: A woman that flaunted her beauty...to him. As she came over with a large tankard of beer, he was already being reeled in.

The foolish man hardly even noticed Jack behind him, mainly due to his illusion charm. He was not quite invisible...more like, he was blending into the background. If one could carefully survey the surroundings, Jack could very well be spotted. But to otherwise drunk patrons, he was a chameleon of the night time bars. As she reached down to hand the man a beer, Jack made his move.

Before he knew it, Jack was already outside with his pouch of money. Not much to be had, but enough to feed and bed himself for a night or two. Although, he needed to find higher areas, better marks, something holding enough to tide him over for at least a month! That way he could better plan his next move. All he was doing these days was getting by with his magic, stealing when needed.

His life was, more or less, floating on by with no purpose. His dreams FAR surpassed his current situation at hand. He wanted wealth, fame, and power to do as he wished. Fairly common for a man in his youth, to want such exorbitant amounts of material goods. He learned these specific skills for JUST that purpose.

Mind you, he did really enjoy going into a large library and reading a good book by the fire. Simple things, menial things that had no real significance to other folks in the world. His real calling was magic, but he was so good at stealing. To his limited knowledge of the world, there was no REAL thieves gatherings or clans that he knew of. If he knew of one, most likely he'd be in it by now trying to make a name for himself.

He could not afford to be with any cast of wizards or sorcerers, as his skills DID NO match up to their standards at his age. He needed far more practice and better teachings of how the inner workings of magic operated. All he knew was Illusion spells, some cantrips dealing with healing or making traps for doors. He was not well versed as he would like to be. He looked down at his stolen pouch of money, realizing he wanted MUCH better...but cared very little to try.

Kye's authoritative outburst seemed to surprise the crowd and for the moment they backed off. The men who commented earlier said nothing further, though the tense atmosphere remained. However, the owner of the shop soon approached the girls. He had a grave look on his face. He looked at the harpy and then quickly back at Kye. "Look, I understand your feelings. You want to help this...creature. However, there's no denying that it could potentially be dangerous to my patrons, and that is something I can't allow. I'm not telling you to throw her back outside in the storm... but she cant stay here. You are going to have to move her somewhere else."

The storm continued to thunder from outside as sheets of rain lashed against the side of the shop. The shop owner stood there with his arms crossed. He did not seem happy about the situation but was serious with his words.

The problem with stealing, is sometimes you get caught. And then, there goes the fun. Jack always knew he was not a great thief, but he wasn't bad at it either. He knew that one day, his luck would run out and something would go wrong during a theft. Today was that day, and it was a full blown mess.

He spent his nights luring drunken fools with beautiful bar maids, at a cost. Traditionally, he used small portions of his growing stash to pay them off, normally to flirt with mildly wealthy gentlemen. Also, these fellows would be quite inebriated at the time. This also tended to work amazingly for him! But sometimes, he ran into little snags along the way.

Either the bar maid was too greedy, and if he didn't pay her enough- she'd narc on him. Or ruin the plan in some small, subtle little way. Another issue was the level of drunkenness the man he targeted was at. This was the most dangerous failure, as the man would already catch on that the bar maid didn't 'really' think he was attractive. This is when interrogation turned to blame, turned to narcing...was not a pretty picture.

This night, Jack hit the trifecta of failures with his targeting. He didn't plan accordingly, he was in a rush, and he did not investigate his target further. He just jumped into the con, not realizing whom he was stealing from. However tonight's target was definitely the wrong man to steal from. He was an off duty guard captain, the guy was literally the worst man to steal from.

This guy was shrewd and knew his way around a beer, as well as a woman. Not to say he was smooth or AT ALL attractive. He just knew what to say only to get her into his chambers. He didn't seem to care for endeavors past that, no long term commitment. He was only into his third beer, nowhere near drunk and hardly even buzzed.

Jack came in and paid off the bar maid prior to the man even drinking. He wanted to plan ahead tonight, little did he know he'd be leaving town due to this man. The bar maid began her ruse, unlucky for Jack...she was beginning to think she was 'under paid' for her services. This was already against Jack anyway, not to mention the guard captain was already suspicious tonight. The bar maid had been eyeing the captain for some time, to break down his suspicious guard.

He already knew something was up, and the bar maid dove in for the attack. She was there for quite some time, whispering things into the mans ear and smiling. Occasionally she would look to Jack, smiling innocently..but all along, playing him into a hole. She was feeding the man intel on Jack, saying what he did and how many times. Details that should have remained confidential with himself and the bar maid.

The man, un-seemingly angry, finished his drink, got up, and proceeded for the door. Jack was not about to try his luck tonight, but he figured the man was none the wiser. As Jack did not attempt any theft during this time, hoping to make the bar maid appear a liar. This didn't work at all in his favor. He felt a large, cold as ice, hand clasp his shoulder.

Jack turned around at the most opportune moment, he managed to see the fist fly at his face that could have ended his life! Jack ducked quickly, and tried to evade any more attempts to his face on behalf of the captains fists. The man didn't speak a word, he just kept swinging, and nearly hitting Jack! Jack could only dodge and hope to make him miss so well, he ends up knocking himself over. Then Jack could use his illusion spell to become a chameleon and sneak out before anyone noticed!

One fist did hit Jack, but it barely grazed his jaw. He knew he had to leave, the man saw his face and was going to remember it. OF ALL the days to not hide his appearance, today was that day. So this man ACTUALLY knew what Jack looked like. Jack decided to think quick, he withdrew his blade, fell down to the ground after the mans next swing, and nicked his leg with his enchanted dagger. The captain felt a sudden strange urge, and he could not move!

Jack slide under the table, cloaked himself momentarily, and scurried out the place unseen. He ran out of town as quick as possible, he managed to keep onto his money. But he would have to later return for the rest that he hid in a dead drop. Hopefully, with luck, no one would find it. His plan fell to pieces, all because of some bad day the bar maid had. Jacky boy was always getting himself into trouble..it was nothing new.

Her tone seemed to get the better of the men who challenged her earlier, which was a small win, however when the shop keeper approached, she knew she was fighting an uphill battle. The man seemed a little more considerate, obviously used to handling rowdy customers when they couldn't get their way, but now he was going to lay down the law and it was that the bird girl couldn't stay. Kye's face and body language stayed the same, but inside she knew she couldn't argue her way out of this one. 'I could easily pay him off with the money I took, but I don't have a limitless supply anymore. That money was supposed to last a good while until I could find a job. Not to mention I've already drawn enough attention to myself. Pulling out a ton of gold would just raise people's suspicions, especially if the guy decided to go with his customer's happiness over his own.' All and all, it was too risky to try anything. Not to mention her only other option would be to pull the trump card of Princess, and out herself in the process. The situation had quickly turned into a mess, backing herself in a corner.

Kye continued to stand tall, keeping her eyes locked with the shop keeper, "Fine. I'll move her elsewhere. Just know it's on you if something happens to her." She knew the threat probably held no weight. She honestly doubted anyone in this shop other than her and the neko who helped get her inside cared what happened to her. Though all she could do now was comply with what they wanted. The only question now was, where could she move her? She had no idea the layout of Hujan having never visited before today. Not to mention any other indoor facility would probably turn the girl away as well. 'What am I going to do?'

Sighing and finally moving away from the shop keep, back to the limp body on the crates. She placed her hand on the girl's forehead to check for a possible fever as a result of her wounds and being drenched. All she could hope was that the girl would wake up in the next few moments to make her job a whole lot easier. Sure she was lighter than carrying normal human being, but things added up when pressed upon by wind and rain, and she wasn't sure how far she could get with the girl on her own.

Sophia's ear twitched at what the shop owner had said, a small growl slipping past her lips. Before she could say a word, the girl from earlier spoke up. She had a point. If the girl had want to attack them all, she would have already. A harpy... she thought as her eyes wandered back over to the two. I've never really seen one before.... When the owner told them that they had to move her, anger stirred up inside Sophia. Her ear twitched when she head the girl said that she'll move the harpy and Sophia quickly ran over to the two.

"I'll help you move her!" she said, looking down to the limp body. "I'm sure we'll be able to find another place for her to rest since we can't keep her here" She shot a look back at the owner before turning to the girl. But may I get your name before we make this decision? It's only so I can properly address you" she asked before taking a quick, small curtsy. "My name is Sophia Anyuski."

Shortly after returning to the bird-girl's side, the other girl who had fetched the fabric spoke up, letting Kye know she'd help her. She felt for the first time since the storm began, that maybe the entire world wasn't conspiring against her and let out a small sigh of relief. The other girl also seemed fairly positive about moving her, which helped to set Kye at ease, even if it was only a tiny bit. The girl introduced herself then as Sophia and asked for her own name in return. Turning to her, she smiled, "It's nice to meet you Sophia, and thanks for helping. At least someone in this place cares." She turned her eyes back to the crowd to glare before reining it in. "I'm Kye." and after a brief pause she added, "...just Kye." In all the time she'd been using that alias, she'd never actually settled upon a last name. Sure she'd used one when training under other healers, though it had just been one she'd heard in passing. With every new person she'd met outside of that, she'd changed it over and over again. Giving her real last name though, was out of the question, so all she could do was hope the other girl accepted her answer for the moment and moved on. 'Lots of people like their privacy. It shouldn't be too unusual not to give a last name... Right?'

As the two girls exchange introductions, the harpy groans faintly, but she doesn't move and shows no signs of waking up. As Kye looks her over again, she would realize how incredibly exhausted the bird girl must be. Trying to fly around in that powerful wind with her incredibly light frame must have sapped her of all her strength, and her injuries would have drained her of any potential energy she had left. She will realize it will take at least several hours of rest before the harpy would even have energy to wake up, if not a full night's sleep. The question now is where to take her.

The moment the girl groaned faintly, Kye's head snapped towards her, hoping for any signs that she would be waking. However, her hopes were crushed soon after as she realized that there was no way she'd be waking up anytime soon. 'Alright, think. There has to be somewhere in this city you could take her. Somewhere they wouldn't toss her out...' All her options looked grim. Any other store would give the same response, there was no way she could get a room at an inn either considering how packed they all were, and restaurants weren't really an option. She could feel the stress of trying to sort it all out in such a short time starting to get the better of her. 'Maybe I shouldn't have left home in the first place. Gah! I'm so stupid! My first big issue in the real world and I can't do anything to take care of it! Perhaps I am just a good for nothing princess.

Suddenly she could feel herself start to slip, a feeling she hadn't had in a very long time, and one she was beginning to think she'd never feel again.
'I-I need to go home. I shouldn't even be here. They are all probably so worried... 'NO. I don't need them. I'm better than this. Going back will solve nothing! Kye clenched her fists, as if readying herself for a fight and once again moved to the harpy's side. Addressing Sophia, she spoke clearly and without reserve, "If you can lead the way, I can carry her. I'm not sure where it's located, but we're taking her to a healing facility. All cities have them and it's probably best to find her a place to rest for awhile." She then grabbed the fabric wadded up under the girl's head and draped it over her body, hoping to cover most of it and hopefully hide the most obvious inhuman signs. Healing facilities may treat the injured, but she had no idea how far that notion would go should they take the same stance as those in the shop did. Her best bet was to get her in and acquire a private room for the girl to rest in. She'd been a Healer in the capital of Mesa after all. If she couldn't pull some strings then no one could.

She then scooped the girl up in her arms ready to head back out into the storm. As much as she tried to ignore it, she was trembling slightly all over, not from the weight, but rather hearing Sienna once again. 'Have I really lost control?' That thought stood out among the rest now. It was something she had wondered since the party in Dunia, but figured was a fluke. Now, as she stood in a tourist shop in Hujan, there was no mistaking it, Sienna was still apart of her. The only question now was how long before she came back?

((I'm going to help this along a bit))

The store owner looked for a moment as if he was going to ask the girls if they planned to pay for the fabric, but in the end he just let them go. He must have figured it was worth it just to have the monster gone from his store.

Once the girls wander outside they are immediately drenched by the rain. With the harpy wrapped up in cloth, the wind no longer threatens to catch her feathers and blow her away, making her much easier to carry. Between Kye and Sophia they have no trouble carrying the deceptively light bird girl, though the storm is still miserable.

Sophia and Kye would notice as they walk around looking for a healing center that the streets were completely empty. Apparently they were the only ones crazy enough to be out in this kind of weather. Unfortunately this meant there was no one around to ask for directions. The girls wander around aimlessly for a while in the terrible storm until, by chance, they happen across a building that Kye would recognize as a healing facility--and an upscale one, at that. Two large heavy wooden doors were now the only barriers between them and the help they sought.

Outside was just as bad as Kye remembered. The storm was still raging on at full force and the three of them were immediately soaked once again. As she looked around, she saw the streets deserted, not a soul stupid enough to be outside other than them. 'At least we can move freely without getting stopped.' That was about the only good she could find in this situation.

Other than that, the situation didn't look to be too great. The three of them wandered the streets for what felt like forever before all of a sudden, she spotted it. A really nice healing facility was right before them, the large wooden doors the only thing in their way. Without hesitation, Kye directed Sophia in the direction of the facility, and upon arriving at it's doors, shoved them open with the full weight of her body while her arms continued to help hold the harpy.

It was a huge relief to leave the storm behind once again, but at the moment she had only one objective in mind. "Sophia, stay here with her while I go see if we can get a room for her." With that she let go and pushed her way to the front desk. Just like everywhere else in the city, the healing facility lobby was packed as well. She hoped that the actual facility was freed up and these people were just a bunch of loiterers trying to stay dry, otherwise there would be another problem.

With a little effort, Kye is able to make her way to the front desk where she is greeted by a pleasant-looking, middle-aged women in a healer's gown. She bears a kind expression on her face as she looks over Kye. "Oh my poor dear, you're soaked to the bone! With that troubled expression you bear, you must be in need of some assistance. How can the Hujan Healer Society help you? We've had a few injured from the storm come in already Is it something critical?" The woman looks at Kye with motherly concern.

Sophia nodded as she watched Kye made her way to the front desk. Sophia looked down to the other before looking back up to where Kye was. She saw how the lady at the counter began to speak with Kye, her attire leading Sophia to believe that she was a healer. Thank goodness... she thought as she looked back down to the harpy, her hand gently brushing across its head. A small sneeze came from Sophia and her ears folded a bit. Damn rain... She frowned slightly as she rubbed her nose.
