The powers at play here were far too large for the puny lifeforms that were standing against the Tenkuu to comprehend. The red mist began to clear slowly, and in the center of the gigantic crater were Arin and the woman before her. Inexplicably, the rage of the Queen was no longer directed at the woman. She began pacing toward the edge of the circle, even as the Orsa began advancing, each one sure not to step into the crater. They were more wary now. Arin's flesh was peeled, charred and shredded from the immense, uncontrollable power she had been channeling. Suddenly, she sprinted forward, closing the distance to the edge of the circle in a few seconds, where she took the sword that she was still holding and plunged it into and through the body of the first person in her way. She had been too lost in her mind to turn the sword around. The blade that was sticking out of the poor creature was facing Arin. She had impaled him with the hilt, and it had broken through and out the other side. She turned around him, pressing with her shoulder against his back as she grasped the hilt and freed the sword from him, swinging it blindly outward and breaking the blade on an Orsan skull, reaching down to grab his falling sword while ducking two swords, plunging her new weapon into the chest of a third warrior, swinging the sword sideways to the left and sending him crashing fatally into another person before kicking an Orsan's ankle to send him horizontally into the air, where she cleft him in twain by raising her sword above her head. She wasn't very good at getting the blade to go through things. It seemed she had more broken him in half with the blunt face of the blade than cut through him.

((Arin's attacks are with the sword))

((five rolls Arin, four rolls Orsan))

Arin:
Hp: 486 / 5262
Kp: 5354 / 5355
kill count: 457,248

Arin was suddenly angrier at the fact that her sword was not working correctly than anything else. The blades kept touching her, but they weren't cutting her, so she had no need for defense. She shouldn't be having this much trouble with something so simple. She roared and brought her sword down at another Orsan's skull, snapping the blade in half, due to an improper entry angle, and sending the far half of the blade flying. She turned around and grabbed the bicep of one of the men, putting her foot to his chest and ripping the whole limb from his body even as she used what was left to knock back the crowd. She swung the whole arm and the sword that it was holding at another person, the blade burrowing from his shoulder to his navel before stopping, and she ripped the arm back, it pulling the sword out of the dying man. Using the momentum, she broke the elbow of the arm against another warrior's skull, wrapping the arm around so that she could catch the hilt in her opposite hand where she wrested the sword from its grip, grabbing the sword from the Orsan in the new, fatal headwear as well. Now dual-wielding, she swung her sword in a backhanded swing, cutting from hip to shoulder another Orsan who was no match for her speed.

((two of Arin's attacks are with the sword, three martial))

((five rolls Arin, four rolls Orsan))

Arin:
Hp: 486 / 5262
Kp: 5354 / 5355
kill count: 457,453

Arin thrust her two swords to either direction and left them in two Orsan bodies, grabbing an Orsan arm with each hand and tearing them off of two separate soldiers, drawing them back and clapping the bloody limbs together to crush a fifth Orsan between them. This whole battle was gruesome. No one had ever seen her behave like this, and no Orsan had ever seen combat like this. Even Conculs who fought were never this disgustingly horrifying, though they had the potential to get pretty horrible. Arin knelt and grabbed her swords from their fleshy sheathes, staring forward blankly and waiting for the next wave. It wasn't clear even to her what she was thinking, or whether she was fighting for the sake of combat at this point, but she was amassing quite the bodycount. These slaughters were the things legends were made of. And these horrors are the kinds of things that inspire bedtime stories.

((Arin's attacks are with the sword))

Planet Orsa: 77,054/ 100,050

Arin:
Hp: 486 / 5262
Kp: 5354 / 5355
kill count: 457,458

Arin brought the sword in her right hand down at the Orsan immediately in front of her and to her left before turning the sword and bringing it up toward the Orsa on her right, where it remained buried in his chest. She stepped forward, ducking down to grab another sword as she did, standing and spinning to slash across the face of another Orsan from his upper left eyebrow to his lower right jawbone, through his entire head, and continuing to thrust forward the point of her blade into the forehead of another Orsan. She came to stand immediately before one warrior, who raised his sword over his head. She darted both swords forward like a pair of scissors and sliced across his throat. He gawped at her for a moment before she brought her foot, pointed, to his jawbone and snapped his head up and back with such force that the bones literally pushed one of his vertebrae forward, ejecting it from his throat entirely. Arin laughed and roared all at once, starting as an amused sound and then degenerating into nothing but rage as she rushed forward into the battle once again.

((damage to Arin, critical: 5-16 * 2-2

10-32))
PostPosted: Sat Sep 08, 2012 9:55 pm

Planet Orsa: 77,054/ 100,050

Arin:
Hp: 486 - 15
471 / 5262
Kp: 5354 / 5355
kill count: 457,453

Arin took another hit that split the what was left of the skin above her right breast, from sternum to her right shoulder, and she roared, hacking away at the Orsa in front of her with reckless abandon, tossing her swords aside and actually grabbing and ripping the throat of an Orsan out with her teeth. Her wrath was terrible, and her nerves were frayed. Literally. Her nerves were raw. With most of her flesh melted and vaporized by her own anger, the woman's body was horribly sensitive to pain, though still immune to most physical damage. It was some small wonder that the scraps of clothing that clung to her body managed to protect her decency even some of the time, though as the swords fell that was becoming an even rarer occurrence. The fabric covering her waist was more or less decent, but her shirt hung in tatters, like a curtain cut into strips. As she continued to fight, a sudden pulse of energy rippled through the field. Everyone stopped fighting for a moment as they embraced the fact that another devastating explosion was to destroy their ranks, as each hit that drew blood on the flesh golem before them seemed to do. But it didn't come. Even Arin had stopped. She felt the energy ripple through her and it shocked her system so completely that she had been forced to come up short mid-swing.

She looked to the sky in the East (West? North? South? On a planet with no magnetic poles and no rotation, it's hard to tell.) Either way, she turned her gaping black orbs to the sight, and a huge pillar of white light stretched into the sky. It struck the moon and bored a hole into it. The blast went on for several seconds before fading back into nonexistence. Every Orsan around Arin began backing away from the moon itself, trying to put even a little more distance between it and themselves. Arin looked at the crowd before turning her eyes back to the sky. She began to see it; there were cracks spreading across the surface of the moon's smooth surface, glowing with power. Arin felt a massive primeval presence stirring. She hadn't sensed it before, even in the back of her mind, and she realized that it was a residual energy signature from the beam... No... No, that wasn't it...

Her eyes widened and her mouth opened as she dropped the Orsan corpse she had been holding to her mouth. She realized what was happening. That was no moon. It was a shell, like the ones that surrounded M13... And it was cracked. Whatever was locked inside such a hopelessly large prison had to be huge... She watched as the cracks spread, the light shining brightly into space.

As the moon split open, something flesh-colored fought its way, flaming, through the atmosphere and struck the planet. Instead of a massive impact that shook the ground... There was nothing. Nothing at all. Until, with a faint rumbling, the ground in the middle of the field began to quake... And from the earth sprang a grotesque, monstrous beast the likes of which Arin had never seen. She gawped at the being located before her. She had stopped fighting and just stared as the creature clacked its claws. All four of them, seeming to search through some unknown, horrible way, for prey.

~Character Data~

Name: The Great Devourer
Bloodline/clan/race: Scorpion-type, World Eater
Sensei: N/A
Home village (and/or) home planet: Orsa
Ki type affinity: parasitic, toxic
Age: newborn
Gender: N/A
Rank: S

~Appearance~

Height: twenty feet at the shoulder, one hundred feet with tail raised, one hundred feet long, forty feet wide with claws curled, seventy feet wide with twenty-foot claws raised.
Weight: 20 earth tons, 200 tons on Orsa
Hair: N/A
Eyes: Two large black eyes, near the top of its head. (small by its own standards)
Physical Description: A giant, flesh-colored scorpion. It has four large, terrible claws that it uses to dig at speeds that make movement underground a viable means of transportation, and are used to grasp its prey, ripping them apart piece by piece if necessary, or to immobilize prey for a sting from its massive tail, which in place of a stinger has a gigantic, ten foot blade through which its signature venom pumps.
Clothing: N/A
Background: The Devourer. Legends surround its story, but on Orsa it was long thought merely another threat to keep the Orsan in line. It is the prime God in Concul worship, and it is heralded as a cleansing destruction. It is awoken by the energy being focused from its parent being fired at its egg, but there is no way for the Devourer to do this itself (neither parent nor child, as at the end of its life-cycle the parent dies producing the new egg) and thus they have a mutualist arrangement with the Concul, whose priests will awaken the World Eater when the world itself is in danger.

It is said that each Devourer is stronger than the last, and everything that it eats merely feeds the beasts strength and hunger.
Personality: The Devourer is concerned primarily with survival, and then with its endless hunger for power.
Other: The Devourer is similar to an earth-bound creature known as the scorpion, though it has four claws and is the size of ALICE... it's life cycle in turn is similar to the scorpion.

Despite being so large, the beast does not appear to have much in the way of defense; its flesh is (while harder than a human's, or even a saiyan's) not as hard as its scorpion-like appearance might warrant.

As Arin attempted to digest the horrific image she was being presented, she failed. There was no animal she'd ever seen that even resembled this thing. At least with the Phoenix she had a point of reference; volcanoes and birds. With the Terre, she wasn't this hopelessly dwarfed by the creature. But she saw this... Thing... And had nothing to compare it to. And it was unrealistically large. Like really. There was no way any land-dwelling animal could be this ridiculously huge without being made fun of in high school. How did they even capture this thing!? Arin numbly felt the Orsa looking at her as if hoping that she might fight this thing before they turned and began to run to put distance between it and them. Arin probably should have done the same thing.

She looked up at the Devourer and roared, her arms at her sides, her fingers splayed into claws as small, laser-like blasts of burning-hot ki arced toward the monster.

Technique Name: Ki shot
Description of Jutsu: allows the user to form a ball of their ki that can be thrown/shot at their opponent. Rank: E
Kp Cost: 2 per shot (can fire two per combat turn)
Damage: 1-5 + ki mod. + 1 per ten in ki control
Requirements: ki control 10

Arin watched as her blasts did... Nothing. Really, nothing. She was amazed by it all. It's not like she expected to kill it with a couple of shots, but come on. Something should have happened. As it was, the Devourer turned now to face Arin, seeming to have found its target. Arin was losing her buzz. She was covered in enough gore that it was hard to tell where her own injuries ended and where the thousands of people she had killed began, but it was obvious that the damage her body had sustained was incredible, and it would have killed any normal person. Hell, it may yet end up killing Arin. The diminutive ragebeast held out her palm and allowed a ball of fire to form in her hand. It compressed into a pinpoint that burned fiercely bright and Arin threw her hand forward, pointing her finger and sending the energy toward the monster.

Technique Name: Ki blast
Description of Jutsu: This technique seems to be fairly common, (and fairly obsolete) throughout the universe. It focuses generic chakra and fires a blast (can be a cone, ball, beam, whatever,) of non-sustained chakra to do a little damage to whatever it happens to hit.
Rank: D
Kp Cost: 20 Kp
Damage: 10-30 + ki mod. + 1 per ten in ki control

Arin was stunned. She saw the energy just kind of flow around the beast, like a river splitting around a stone. She opened her mouth and closed it. She realized that there were no Orsan around her, all of them having retreated to a safe distance. It would really be helpful if one of them could say something needlessly expositional. 'Oh, hey, look, isn't that the thing that's weak to fish?' or 'Oh! that must be the monster that falls asleep when you whistle!' Nothing. All she heard was the word 'Devourer' being whispered as the monster opened a claw, white energy building in the extremity until it clicked its claw and blasted a large number of Orsans into the next world. Arin's hair and clothing were driven by the wind of the explosion, and she had to look away from the light. When she looked back, she saw shriveled corpses laying where the Orsans had once been. She stared at the Devourer and decided that the time for playing nice was over. She leaped forward and aimed a single punch at the thing's face, aiming to jump away afterward.
