“He’s not going to make fun of you,” Ganymede said reassuringly, noting the way Oberon spared a brief glance toward Valhalla before adding, “He had to learn at some point, too, obviously.”
For just a moment he felt a bit like teasing the kid on his own, as Oberon hadn’t specified what sort of dance he intended the Eternal Senshi to teach him. Ganymede was sorely tempted to begin his instructions with “alright, put your feet in position one, like this” and see how long it would take Oberon to whine about being taught ballet instead. He doubted Oberon had any interest in going that far, though Ganymede had suggested it once or twice when they were around one another as Peter and Paris, not for any amusement he might have felt or the occasional inkling of interest Peter might have shown—admittedly, that interest hadn’t been much more than a confused sounding “why do you walk like that?” which had lead Paris into a mostly one-sided conversation about classical ballet and turnout—but because he thought the athleticism and physicality ballet had lent him might be beneficial in the long run.
But as he was sure that wasn’t what Oberon had meant and he didn’t want to put his younger companion in a bad mood, Ganymede settled on teaching him how to move across the floor just as he and Valhalla had been doing only moments ago.
“Alright,” he agreed. “Everyone should know how to waltz anyway. We’ll start off simple. I’ll help you with the steps before we even try to add in a partner.”
Ganymede moved to stand beside Oberon, facing the same direction and putting enough space between them so there wouldn’t be any risk of bumping into one another.
“Hold your right arm out like this,” he demonstrated, “like you’re holding on to someone’s waist. Your left hand you’ll want to hold up like this. That’s the one you’ll be holding your partner’s hand with. On the first beat, you want to step forward with you left foot. Your partner will follow you and move back on their right. On the second beat, you step forward with your right foot and then move it to the right. On the third beat, you’re going to slide your left foot to the right so your feet are together,” he continued to instruct, slowly moving his feet as he directed.

Oberon hesitated as Ganymede stepped forward to show him how to dance, although after a few moments, he did as he was told and stuck out his arms as though dancing with an invisible partner. He cast a warning glance over his shoulder at the knight before taking a step forward on his left and trying to do as he was told.
It was harder than it looked, but Ganymede made it seem so easy! The chibi pouted in frustration, dropping his hands after a few tries and not seeming to get it right.
"I can't do it by myself," he complained, wanting to give up. And that was why he didn't dance! It was stupid and only really gifted people could do it... Just give him a phone with internet and he'd be happy.
Valhalla watched, out of the way as Ganymede attempted to teach the young senshi how to waltz, understanding his frustration. He knew he hadn't been that great when he'd first learned, but that was was practice was for... hell, he didn't even get in a lot of practice, he just happened to have a dancer for a boyfriend.
"Like this," he offered, stepping forward and lifting his hands to mimic how Ganymede had shown Oberon, taking a step forward on his left. "Don't give up so easily. You know you can do it," he assured the chibi, reaching out to ruffle his hair once he'd come around full circle. It might look a little strange to have three people dancing by themselves in a huge ballroom, but it wasn't as though there was anyone to witness it. No one besides the ghosts, at least.
"One two three, one two three. Go as slow as you need to in order to get it. You can always add more speed later.
"Okay okay," Oberon grumbled, flushing in embarrassment when the knight came over to help him learn as well. Okay, so maybe he wasn't going to laugh at him, but it was still odd to learn how to dance like this, wasn't it?
Of all the things they could have done on the moon, he never expected it to be this...
It wasn't horrible, at least. Dancing... He was sure it would be more fun if there were others doing it too and there wasn't an odd number of people there, but... he wouldn't mind trying it again sometime.
And Valhalla was okay, at least. Not annoying like he first assumed he'd be. He just... needed to keep his distance from Ganymede, that was all.
