Asante looked surprised by the answer she got. That didn't tell her anything, just that the Jini-msemi expected the roguelands to hold answers their home did not. Maybe there was something to learn out here that you just couldn't from the comfort of your home.. but how did how you handled yourself as a rogue affect the lion you were in a pride?
She looked to Thaddaeus for help, she didn't know what to say that definitely couldn't be taken offensively. She just didn't understand.
He had a similar surprised and confused look when her answer was only that she wasn't allowed at home until she had a new name. Prides could be complicated, he was sure there was more to it that just couldn't be worth explaining to a couple of nosy rogues- the question could have been a sensitive one. He could feel Asante's eyes on him so he said the only thing he could think of.
"Is there anything we can do to help?"
It was doubtful they'd have any major insight into her true nature having just met her but they were experienced rogues who knew the area. They could be useful in other ways.

"Help with my name? I don't think so," S'chor answered after she paused to think about it. Her name was between her and the spirits at this point, so far as she knew.
Her stomach growled slightly, reminding the world how long it had been since she last ate. No blush would show against her dark fur, but she did have the grace to look embarrassed.
"Help with anything else, probably," she told the two with a laugh.

Satisfied with Thaddaeus' solution to their problem, Asante looked back at S'chor with a nod- ready to help however she could. She had never named anything before, so she wasn't terribly disappointed when they were told helping with a name wouldn't be possible and then growling of her stomach cut in.
"Well then," she said, brightening up, "I bet you could use a couple of hunting partners. It's hard enough by yourself as a rogue, being used to a pride full of help must be even harder."
He nodded, agreeing with Asante. She had to help him adjust to hunting as a pair. He was definitely more confident he could fend for himself now than when he first wandered away from his family.
"It's not usually hard to find something around here, either," he added, "If you know where to look."
And they did.
Fin!
