...Four. Four?
"I uh...don't think you're four..." Mac said, quite unsure of this whole thing. If this was an elaborate ploy, she was being very convincing...if this was to bust him, at least he'll be able to regale everyone with how she acted like she was this many.
Hrm...but if she wasn't...
"I dunno, really. I heard you scream and I went to help, but I did see Mot running away..." Mac rubbed his chin thoughtfully, staring down his nose at the ghoul. "I think he might've had something to do with it. He's got a mean streak a mile wide..."

Didn't think she was four? What, was he calling her a liar?
... Or maybe he was saying that she was mature for her age! Yes, she got that a lot. Mostly from her father. Okay, it was just her father who said it. But he said it a lot.
Staring up at the boil wide-eyed as he regaled the tale of how she was apparently found, she gasped as Mac suggested it was foul play. "W-who is this Mot?! What does he look like?" Riyo asked in a panicked voice, then she remembered something.
"Oh... Thank you for saving me." The way she said it innocently suggested that this most certainly wasn't a ruse. Riyo wasn't an innocent person, after all.

"Err, well, he's a Reaper, and..." Mac paused, dumbfounded as he realized that no, Riyo was not messing with him. She really didn't know, and this really wasn't an act. Err...uh. Well. Jeez.
"But yanno what? You just stay away from any really tall Reaper boils with dark hair." Reaching out he carefully - super carefully - pat her head in a very there, there way. "And then you'll be fine."
"And uh...don't chase birds. That ends bad." Exhibit A.

"Uh huh. A reaper." Riyo scooted a little closer to the boil as he began to describe her assailant. She needed to remember this. Well, she needed to remember a lot more really.
But it appeared that the only description she'd get was shaky at best. "Oh, uh... Okay!" The ghoul smiled as she was pat on the head, a sure-fire sign that there was nothing right about what was going on in that little head of hers.
However, accepting the idea of leaving birds alone would be much more difficult. At the mere mention of birds, the ghoul's stomach let out a terrible hiss. "N-no birds?" Riyo's lip quivered. "But... Birds are nummy.." Her hands retreated to her empty belly. Oh, just thinking about birds made it worse. When was the last time she ate? It had to have been a loooooong time ago! Where was she gonna find something to eat? She didn't know where anything was, or even where she was. "I'm scared..." Her ears folded back as she admitted it. Who knew she could look so pitiful.

"No. Birds." Mac repeated with a low growl...but then he paused and gave a whistle, and a particular bird flew to him. "Not this bird, anyway. I guess any other bird is fine." He gave her a moment to take a look a whip, who was quite unhappy but content to stay put so long as Mac was holding onto it.
"Why are you scared? Don't be scared." He made a motion for her to follow him before he turned and continued to walk. "All I'm doing is taking you to the nurse." Mostly because he really didn't want to look at her for longer than that; it reminded him of what he did, and that was just terrible. He didn't hear her stomach grumbling, though.

And just like that, she was defeated. The bird flew to Mac and Riyo stared longingly at him. The feline nervously rubbed her closed hand, but made not even the smallest effort to reach out for the bird. "Okay..."
Scooting closer to the boil as he began to walk, Riyo seemed to take on a shy persona, ducking her head and watching as other people passed by them. So many strange, different people. She'd never seen such a variety. "I'm scared cause... I don't know where I am. Or... Or where my parents are. Dad never leaves me alone like this..." She mumbled, deciding it might be better to watch her feet move for a moment. Her head was still very ouch after all. "How am I gonna get home? I don't amember my address..." It hadn't seemed important at the time to memorize it. Too many other things to learn, and she'd never really left home that much anyways.
