'Yes, of course' was the first response that came to mind, but Luke understood that that wasn't entirely truthful. He raised his hand to his neck idly in consideration of his reply. "Well, honestly... probably not." That sounded kind of harsh. "I mean, not that I don't trust you or anything, I just don't want to--" be a bother? Hm. This was one of those fatal flaws of his, wasn't it? A stubbornness and a tendency to bear all of his problems on his own. It had already been proven to him time and time again that it was easier to deal with problems and worries when his friends weighed in their thoughts and opinions, so why was he still clinging to that self-isolation as if it had ever helped him? He lowered his hand, his features apologetic. "I'll try."

That did sound kind of harsh and Emil winces a little at first, up until Luke tries to correct himself. He just smiles in that bashful way of his.
"Have a good trip? I'll just.. take care of things while you're gone."

Luke nodded, though he didn't really foresee it being a good trip by any stretch of the imagination. He could at least pretend, though. "Thanks," he turned to return to packing, pausing briefly. "And Rem."
The Eevee, who had flopped onto her back and begun rolling boredly on the carpet, looked up at her upside-down trainer with wide eyes.
"Take it easy for once, okay? That'd be a big help."
Boooo, were all Humans so boring?
