Danny's face twisted up in annoyance. So that wasn't it either? Puzzles were too hard for her to figure out. She held a hand out and Tiff climbed up her arm, perching on her shoulder. Tony trotted over with dignity and pawed at Danny's leg, so Danny picked up the albino rabo and cradled it in her arms like a baby.
She gave Yin a sad face and moved closer to the boil. "You're really beat up about this, huh?" she said, stroking the white fur as Tiff licked the side of her face. "I um ... I'm sorry..."
The fire demoness was really horrible with words, and wasn't sure how to comfort Yin. She knew it was bad, knew Yin was upset, but didn't have a way to fix the problem. It was frustrating being dumb sometimes.

Yin tried not to look at the rabos, instead looking down at his hands as he twiddled his thumbs. "You...you should not be apologizing Miss Danniella."
Oh, he was using her full name again. This as serious.
"I...I would understand if you do not want to see me again after this. If you...if you hate me," oh he was about to cry again. Great Mantis he needed to be strong. "I tried to take care of the present for you."

Danny's heart leapt out of her chest. Yin was crying and saying she should hate him? But ... why? What? What was even going on?????????
She put Tony on her other shoulder and then put both hands on Yin's cheeks, so she could focus his nasty water-covered face on her. "I don't hate you! I know you tried hard, and you did better than ... than even Jack himself!" Did Jack even take good care of his minipets? She imagined he did, but hell if Danny knew.
The two rabos on her shoulders were smiling in their rabo way, and Danny had a smile plastered on her face. Yin was essentially getting three very loving faces shoved right into his. "And it's just Danny, okay?"

She knew that he had tried? She did not completely hate him even though he had been responsible for Princess Eva's death? She...he flushed at the compliment. He knew what Jack meant to those outside of the Clan, and for her to say such a thing...he was slightly at a loss for words.
"Whatever you wish Miss Danny," he said, though naturally, the Miss never left. But still, he was backing away from using her full name, so it was progressing to where he had been all along. It was slightly disconcerting to see the rabos staring at him, it made his kokoro hurt. Still, he wiped off his face with the edge of his shirt and attempted an incredibly weak smile.

Danny gave a sort of pitying smile and her hands dropped so she could wrap Yin in a hug and rock him a little. "S'okay buddy. S'okay," she said squeezing him gently.
She let Yin go and said, "What if ... I gave you a new one? I was digging through the pile the other day and I think I found a special one ..."

Yin "accidentally" buried his face in Miss Danny's cleavage and smirked.
Yin was actually...starting to become accustomed to Miss Danny's hugs. He would not admit it, they still flustered him, but he also thought that Rikki would forgive him. And if he had an issue he was sure he could work things out with the reaper physically. Its what men did.
Then he stared at her sadly. "No one can replace Princess Eva Miss Danny. No one."

Danny shook her head, smiling at Yin's blunder. Tiff took the opportunity to make a daredevil rabo move and jump the great canyon over to Yin's shoulder, whether or not Yin was ready.
"No no no, we're not replacing her," Danny assured him, patting him on the shoulder. "But ... maybe if you had one to take care of, you could focus on it instead?"
She thought for a moment about how to phrase it. "Um ... it's like ... uh ... starting new kinda? Like you don't forget old stuff, but you start from here." She looked at the ground and pointed. "Right here!" Literally right here. A goofy smile back at Yin. Danny was a champion at this feels talk thing.

The jump startled him, but he would never let harm come to rabo if he could help it. He automatically reached up to make sure that Tiff was steady, simple reflexes taking hold. But wait, if they were not replacing her...he still did not know that he wanted a rabo. A small creature that looked like her but would never be the same as her. Nothing like his darling.
But he understood where Miss Danny was coming from, what she was trying to do. And he owed her. He at least owed it to her to try. And the fire demoness was trying so very hard. He looked down at the ground and moved his foot to exactly the spot she was pointing to. "Right here? Very well then Miss Danny, if it would not be too much trouble."
Never not letting Miss Danny control his life.

Danny smiled and patted his cheek, and then left his side. She pulled Tony off her shoulder and threw the poor rabo onto the bed. Danny really didn't care about her minipets in the least.
She seemed to disappear into the piles of boxes near her closet. After what seemed like an eternity, she emerged with a box wrapped in blue ribbon, a stark contrast to the pink ribbons of most of the boxes.
Danny pranced back over to wear Yin was and put the box in his hands, smiling widely. "Take special care of it, 'kay?"

Yin was probably starting to care more for Miss Danny's minipets than she did, simply because he did not want them to be tossed around in such a manner. He looked at Tony in concern, looking up only when he heard something rustling around in Miss Danny's closet.
It was almost with relief when he saw the blue ribbon and not the pink. He did not think his kokoro could handle the pink. He took the box from her, hands practically shaking, feeling something shift inside the box. He forced his eyes from the almost familiar box and up to Miss Danny's. "I will do better with this one Miss Danny. I shall guard it with my life."

Danny nodded and said, "Uh huh yeah. Guarding and stuff. Just uh ... just have fun with it!" No one took minipets as seriously as Yin did, apparently. Well, maybe Rikki though. Rikki loved her minis more than SHE loved her minis.
She was going to pat him on the back and lackadaisically invite him to go running or something, when she remember her initial alarm. "Oh gosh that's right- hunters," she said, biting her lips. "Are they still here?"
If they were, Danny had some serious a** to kick. B|

Just have fun. Yin, just have fun.
Miss Danny should be a comedian when she grows up.
Yin looked at her, thinking. "It was...It was in a house I do not remember on campus. I went through a wardrobe and it was there but its not like it is on campus, I am not sure where I was. If I see any hunters on campus I will be sure to warn you." That was, after he tried to stand up to them.
"I would never intentionally see you injured Miss Danny. I...I am going to try to become stronger. I have been weak until now, and I might always be weak. But either way the hunters can destroy us, so it would be better if I was stronger.

Danny sighed and sat down on her bed, patting the seat next to her. This feels talk was far from over, so you better just sit your a** down Yin.
"You should stay away from that house!" Danny announced. It was an astute observation. Completely brilliant. A frown creased on her face and she added, "And wardrobes!"
To Yin's proposal to get stronger, Danny nodded. "You mean like go to the gym and stuff? We can fight!" she said excitedly. She liked fighting. A lot.

"I did not mean to go to the house," Yin said almost sullenly...and really, he stayed away from wardrobes quite a bit. This one just seemed to call to him.
Then Yin perked up. His kokoro went doki doki and everything. Miss Danny wanted to go to the gymnasium and fight? He felt rather certainly that Miss Danny would not be in danger from him. The ghoul was strong even without him holding back his blows. Maybe someday he would be as strong as Miss Danny. He liked her idea. A lot.
"I would be honored to spar with you Miss Danny!"

Danny tilted her head. "You'd be honored to fight me?" she said, rubbing her chin. "Why- is fighting a big deal to mantises?"
A thought occurred to her. "Hey how come you never talk about your family?" Yin had never made mention of a mummy or a deadie. Did he have siblings? Danny could picture Yin with a little sister.
Maybe he was poofed into Halloween all alone?
