Albroit was a bit startled when the bird cheered. It was not really the response he had been expecting. But it couldn't be helped. He smiled at Getsu. He liked the company of the young boy, young? Yeah he had told him that he was eleven. But he was not a rash decision maker. Well he just had to leave that to him then. He was sure that Getsu didn't mind his travelling buddy to have that characteristic. Well the ironic part would probably be that he didn't really see it as a problem. Since next to being very calm and relaxed he also seemed to be very observative. He had already guessed why Arichan asked him to travel along, the bird liked those characteristics.
He remembered the time he and his parents lived in Konoha when they were still travelling. He spent a lot of time playing in these surrounding woods. That is why he knew that these woods belonged to the land of Fire. He liked the nature. And he liked the girls that lived in Konoha even more. Those pretty girls, he remembered a girl from the Inuzuka clan one time. He still had a crush on her. Although he didn't really care for her dog. He would revisit Konoha one day, but it was smarter to combine it with a mission. He could even get paid for a little trip. He showed his scary signature smile again, Getsu would probably not understand why he was smiling like that. Just a little bit of nostalgia. That would be his answer if the boy asked.
Albroit was thinking of the co-operative tactics he and Getsu could make if they did manage to get into a fight, and that stumbled him onto a subject. "Hey Getsu, do you know the bloodline limit for Wind and Lightning?". He didn't even know if such a bloodline limit existed. But that element would form if they combined their natures at just the right moment. Right? He was thinking of some more things, he never saw the battle style of the young Genin. What could they combine? Would they even be good in battle together? They could be a horrible combination aswell.
Arichan's reaction brought a soft laugh from the white haired Genin. He was glad that he was pleased with his reply. It also showed that the bird wasn't completely serious and cynical like he had been making himself out to be. Albroit was quiet for a while as he looked around the forest, and Getsu wasn't one to inturrupt other's thoughts, especially when he noticed the odd smile pulling at the boy's lips. Maybe he's thinking of something... he gave a light smile, his gaze shifting up to the sky, watching the clouds through the thick leaves of the trees overhead. It was a little bit before Albroit spoke again, asking if he knew of a bloodline limit that consisted of Lightning and Wind. Getsu's brows furrowed a bit as he thought. "Hmm... I know Raiton is weak against Fuuton, because wind is a natural insulator against lightning... But... I don't--!!" his sentence was cut short as the ground vanished from under his feet and he gave a slightly startled sounding gasp.
What had happened was, not paying attention where he was walking, the white haired Genin had stepped off the side of a rather steep hill. He slid now, his foot snagging in a root and flipping him over. His hands come up to cover his face and head as he ducked, rolling and tumbling down the hill and through bushes, narrowly missing smacking, head first, into a tree. He tried to work to get his fall under control, but just as he started to move to grab for something, he felt the solid ground again leave from under him as he broke through a rather brambly bush. He spun in the air, time seeming to slow for a moment as he realized what was about to happen. His body twisted and his arms and legs spread apart. Under him was a river, it didn't seem very deep, but the drop off into it was a good two to three feet straight down, which he was now falling into. Quickly tucking his arm around, he forced his body onto his side, landing with a somewhat ungraceful splash into the cold waters. Yes, they were cold...
The boy let himself sink a little, his eyes closed as he let his world stop spinning and he gathered his bearings on which way was up. He then straightened, his feet kicking out as he brought a hand up, stroking through the water toward the surface. He broke through, his head coming up and him taking a deep, gulping breath. Man...That was embarrassing... He sighed, his body bobbing in the water. He could just barely touch the bottom of the river with his tip toes, and even then he would have to lean his head back so he wouldn't swallow in water. He took a deep breath, ducking down under the water and pushing himself to the bottom of the riverbed. his knees bending before he pushed up hard and quick, forcing chakra through the soles of his feet to help propel himself upward. He leaped up out of the water, bringing his knees up to his chest as he did so to give himself a bit of extra room between him and the surface of the water, and making it look like he jumped much higher than just the couple inches above the surface. Still focusing chakra into his feet, he landed on the surface, wobbling a bit as he worked to even the flow under him and compensate for the upset water below him.
He gave a light cough, reaching up to pull his half mask down. It was soaking wet... and breathing through wet cloth was a bit difficult. He looked up where he had just fell from, giving a light sigh before looking to his katana. He would need to dry it so it wouldn't rust... and not only that, but his clothes were soaking wet now... He brought a hand up, brushing it through his wet hair and pushing his long bangs out of his face. "Not very Hatake like there Moon..." he muttered to himself, shaking his head.
Albroit sighed as he heard the answer, maybe there was no Kekkei Genkai that used both of these elements. He wanted to interrupt Getsu, since he didn't hear the rest of what the boy was saying since he was thinking about it himself again. He looked around, where the hell did Getsu go? "He fell down the cliff you idiot! Didn't you see that!". The vulture smacked him on the back of his head. Albroit let out a puff. "I was thinking. But did he really fall down?". His laughing filled the forest with sound. The clapping of his shoes had stopped since he didn't walk anymore. He looked down a bit. Then he looked back at Arichan with a naughty smile. The bird looked at him with big eyes. "Oh no, not in a million years, only if it is absolutely need-" The bird couldn't finish his sentence.
He stumbled into the air on the back of Arichan. The only thing he could hear was the puffing of the vulture. It seemed like the guy was already passing his first century. "Don't be such a baby, Arichan. I carried you aswell". The bird let out an annoyed screech. "How is flying above a freaking lake anything like sitting on somebody's arm you dumb-". He sighed loudly and didn't finish his sentence. The bird lowered a bit. He looked around for Getsu. Albroit stopped talking too. He saw the white hair and a small part of the mask come out of the water. It seemed as if he dived down and jumped back up again. The boy had fallen into the river then? Albroit frowned. But he put his big smile back on again. He jumped from Arichan's back. The bird followed his lead as they came closer to the river. Arichan flew a bit above the surface. Albroit came down, a few feet away from Getsu. "What happened, are you wet Getsu?" But he answered that question before Getsu could. Him landing made a hard clap sound. A wave of water rised up. Splashing towards Getsu. He could stand on the water, but was that really helpful for others? He heard the vulture mumble again. "Oh he really is stupid."
Getsu began to ring his clothes out, trying to get them somewhat dry as he stood on the river. He felt somewhat foolish, he should have been paying more attention to where he was going rather than staring up at the clouds. Oh well, live and learn I suppose. Though, he could have just as easily walked into an enemies trap as he had fallen down the hill by doing that. Now he knew though, pay more attention to the ground than daydreaming above. He paused as he heard a laugh, it was Albroit laughing. Getsu hung his head, his shoulders slumping in a rare moment of him showing how silly he felt. He quickly recovered though, taking a breath and chuckling as he thought of how he must have looked, tumbling down the side of the hill and landing, very ungracefully, into the river.
A shadow circled overhead, and the young Genin looked up, seeing Arichan and Albroit in the air. Well, he supposed it was a better way down instead of the route he had taken. When the other landed near him, asking if he was wet, he started to answer, only to get splashed by the other. He gave a soft chuckle, dancing back a bit, but still getting water splashed up on his pants and lower portion of his coat. "Oh? You mean this? I thought it would be a good change of pace to go for a swim. You should try it, the water's nice." he replied with a grin, his foot sliding out, catching the water against its side before he flicked it up and at the blond.
Hearing Arichan muttering about how someone really was stupid, Getsu looked at the bird with a soft smile, "Oh come on now Arichan-sama. You should lighten up a little more. You will get old quicker if you are always so serious." That seemed to be something that the young Genin lived by. He never took anything serious, and never got upset when things happened or when something didn't go the way he planned it. Even with this, he found it more humorous than anything. It was a lesson learned about watching his footing, and a slight detour that brought him to a nice river. Nothing to get mad or upset about. The entire thing could even turn out fun, especially if Albroit and himself started playing in the river, not to mention, it was a good way to continue their skills with their chakra control, walking along the surface and constantly disrupting it, there by forcing them to maintain their balance while the water continued to move. Nothing to take too seriously at all.
Albroit heard Getsu chuckle a bit in the water puddle. If he wanted to go for a swim? He avoided some water that Getsu threw at him, laughing at the action. "Do I look like an idiot to you, Getsu? The water is freezing cold!" He asked at a sarcastic tone, the last sentence came out with a bit of a naggy tone. Getsu wasn't the one to answer him. "Look like one? You are a synonym for i-". Albroit splashed water towards the vulture, before the beast could finish it sentence. Hearing that the bird made a puffing sound after he was hit. "I swear mate, if every vulture in the Valley of patience is this grumpy it will be a long travel". He laughed at the vulture as he said that, he was only joking. He liked Arichan's personality. As if he were travelling with an older guy. The bird let out a high pitch.
Albroit smiled at Getsu as he was telling the bird a quick speech about him getting way too old if he kept up his grumpy attitude. He noticed the bird landing on his shoulder again. "Oh just shut up." was the only thing the bird mumbled. Albroit noticed that the tone was friendly and playful. The bird liked to be messed with, as long as his pride didn't get broken or shattered. He looked at Getsu, the boy was soaking wet. He felt a bit of shame for making him wet. But he could solve that later!
He looked around, this river was narrowing down a lot when you looked towards the direction they were travelling in. The vulture sure knew some shorter routes around the countries. He looked up to the sky, it was becoming night very soon. The sun was setting behind the trees. He had a slight idea of where he was. But he was certain that they could not reach the land of Wind before sunset. He looked at Getsu and Arichan. "We should camp out soon, probably in the forest here". He looked at Getsu again. Why was the boy this wet? He had to do something! "Let me dry you Getsu, just let me think..". He quickly slammed his fist under his head. He didn't really know lowly ranked jutsu to dry someone up. But what about some wind force? He quickly formed the hand seal of Serpent. He looked at Getsu with a gigantic smile. "Brace yourself Getsu. I'm gonna blow you dry". He started charging chakra into his hands, to unleash them when he spoke the words. "Fùton, Daitoppa! (B Rank - Wind Release: Grand Blast)". He quickly heard the vulture scream as he yelled the words. "You fool, that jutsu can level an entire area!"But it was too late for that. The enormous wind force shot out of Albroit's hands.
Getsu chuckled as the other told him the water was freezing cold. It really was cold... It hadn't been at all pleasant to fall into it in all reality. Arichan again began to comment on Albroit's intelligence level, only to be cut short as the blond splashed the bird, earning an almost annoyed sounding squawk from the creature. Getsu gave another soft laugh, reaching up to fix his damp hair as best as he could, he would dry out eventually he was sure, and maybe being kind of wet would make the walk cooler. He glanced over at Albroit as he made a comment on the bird's personality as Arichan came over and once more took up his perch on the boy's shoulder.
Getsu smiled as the bird replied to him. The white haired Genin figured that if birds could blush, Arichan would probably be blushing right about now. His hands came to brush his coat down, trying to wipe as much water off of it as he could. Albroit mentioned camping somewhere, and Getsu looked up, quirking a brow and frowning slightly, "Why camp? We still have time before nightfall, and besides, you want to get to the valley to see the King of Vultures right?" he smiled now, his eyes closing and turning up at the corners, "I can keep going if you can." Albroit then said the he needed to think of a way to dry him, which caused Getsu to quirk a brow, slightly confused. He would dry out in time... What was Albroit... His eyes widened as the boy made a hand sign and called out the name of the jutsu, Getsu taking a half step back and holding his hands out, waving them to try to get him to stop, even as Arichan tried to warn Albroit about using it, "Wait! Wait Albr---!!!" he was hit with point blank with the wind jutsu, gasping as he was blown back, his feet coming from the water as the force pushed him back and away.
Great... This is going to hurt... he had time to think that before he felt his back slam into a nearby tree, the wood splintering as his eyes closed. The impact knocked the air from his lungs in a soft cry of pain before he fell forward, his hands coming up to barely keep himself from planting face first into the ground. He grit his teeth, his body shaking before he took a small, slow breath. That had hurt... Oh boy had that hurt... Was he broken? Was anything broken? He wiggled his toes in his shoes, he could still feel his legs and feet, so that was a good thing. He slowly pushed himself up onto his hands and knees, wincing in pain and coughing. Albroit had had good intentions... He understood that, and he was sure that the blond hadn't meant to send him crashing into anything, or to cause him to get hurt. Forcing a smile onto his face, he cracked an eye open, giving a slightly pained chuckle, "Well... At least I'm dry now..." he said softly, coughing again.
Albroit was surprised by his own technique aswell, he looked as the boy flew out of the river towards the near forest. He heard Getsu smash against a tree. "Uh oh" was the only thing he could say as he had blown Getsu away. He put his left hand behind his head and started laughing. Only to be smacked by his bird companion yet again. "Why do I have to travel with you?" The bird quickly got up and flew towards where Getsu had crashed. Albroit quickly followed him. He could understand that Getsu was a bit of angry right now, it didn't happen everyday that a shinobi was blown away by a friendly jutsu. Well it probably wasn't that bad either! He arrived at the spot. He was happy to see that Getsu didn't have any serious injury.
He looked at Getsu. Who was clamping up after the crash. It seemed as if he was checking his body for any broken spots. His first reaction too! He smiled at the boy. "I'm glad that you're dry now!" He closed his eyes, showing his creepy smile to the boy. He wanted to answer towards Getsu about him wanting to camp, according to him it was still about half a day walking towards the beginning of the desert. And if they were in the desert, then he would consider that walking all night or at nightfall was their best shot. Since the Raikage probably noticed two of her new Genin departing. He wasn't scared or intimidated quickly. But it would probably give tons of problems if they stayed away for longer than was neccesary. He looked at Getsu. "It will be smarter to camp though, we are very far away from the-" He stopped talking, since he was looking next to the tree that Getsu had crashed into. It was empty, empty sandy plains. He showed a big grin towards the boy. "Arichan sure does know some quicker routes eh". He looked at the bird that was sitting next to Getsu. The bird showed him a quick smile. Then it flew up again, landing on Albroit's shoulder. "Lets go Getsu, we don't want the king to wait for us, do we?" He started walking towards the sandy road. The area around him had more sand in it than the forest, changing his clapping sound into a pulling sound. As if somebody was dragging a large back next to him.
