Inyoni had, up to this moment, remained silent (a rare occurrence). She also felt completely out of her depth (an even rarer occurrence). One thing she was sure of, however, was that the only token Ru needed that she would even be able to recognize was a jewel from the Pirate King's horde. Obtaining a tooth from a sea monster was, however, at least feasible as soon as she got the answer to one question... "What," she asked, "does a sea monster look like?" It didn't occur to her to ask about the god-feather. Well, it did, but it didn't occur to her to ask this instant. It would make for a great story, she was sure, but it wasn't really important right now. Quest first, stories second.

"Galning," Ru rumbled in a warning growl.
He would have been willing to bet that the lions in the sagas never had to deal with these minor personality conflicts in their bands. They were probably fortunate in that their bands were made up entirely of mindless automatons who were all great fighters and legendary in their own right, but completely obedient. Well, Ru wasn't exactly a hero out of a saga either.
"Halvdan would probably be best qualified to answer what a sea monster looks like," Ru said, answering Inyoni and trying to remember if he had ever seen her before. With a nod toward Halvdan he added, "He'll be taking point in our search."
Ru knew something of Halvdan's experience with the sea monster, but even if it wasn't the sort of experience Halvdan might want to talk about, it was more experience than anyone else in the band had, Ru suspected, and that made him the default expert on the subject. Galning glared at Ru in a manner that bordered on mutinous but he mastered his temper before his eye began twitching. Ru was the captain, and Galning had volunteered to be part of his crew. That meant he had to accept what Ru said, even if what Ru said was a scolding for being helpful and putting foolish cubs in their place.
Rather than continue to nurse resentment toward Ru for things the captain couldn't help, Galning decided it was time for him to stop contributing to the discussion. Ru had told him once why he hadn't taken Galning with him on his first viking. He hoped that he could use this adventure to prove to Ru and everyone else that he was no longer that lion. He was trying to be a more responsible lion. At least as responsible as any other reaver.
He turned his attention to studying the band he was part of. Some females, but that had never bothered Galning. No one much older than he and Ru. Not a lot of experience, then. At least one lion who had been captained by Ru before. Some lions who had never been viking at all. This was a very green band. Galning decided that it would be his mission to help Ru by forming them into a functioning band of reavers so that Ru wouldn't have to worry about that, and could focus solely on his quest.
He grinned. That was a good plan.

A part of the young lion suddenly felt smug as he smirked at Galning. MUNYU wasn't the one getting reprimanded by Ru... Though technically, Ru wasn't actually taking any of his ideas, not in a serious manner. His confidence climbed again. "I say we go for the piece of the sky after we get the tooth. It'll probably be harder to get than the pirate king's treasure... Since it's not exactly easy to determine what a piece of the sky IS. Besides a cloud..." How would one gather a cloud? It crawled around one's paw like a whisp, hardly tangible in the slightest. Munyu looked up, watching a puff float by. Maybe they could grab something and SAY it was a piece of the sky... What was a little white lie between vikings?

Halvdan nodded. He supposed he was as close to a sea monster expert as they would come. And he was pleased that they wouldn't have to meddle with gods.
"Well," Halvdan said and cleared his throat, "It looks a little bit like a fish actually, only much bigger and toothier. The skin is slimy with a strange feel to it. I didn't much like the taste..."
He pondered what else he could tell them. The sea monster he had seen was already dead, and half eaten. If he tried to jog his memory he might be able to find that place again, and with a lot of luck there might be some skeleton parts left. It wasn't likely, but it would be a start.
"I think it would be best to take that way," he said and motioned in a direction that he hoped would give them a good start, "Then we follow the coast and hope for the best."

Not many things got under the skin of the ex-rogue, as he wasn't easily riled into fits of rage, but he was feeling some slight irritation towards the white-pelted whelp. He turned his ruby gaze on him silently, listening to the remarks of him as well as Galning, the only outward clue that perhaps Munyu had caught the wrong side of the lion's attention. In the end, Don simply rolled his shoulders at the two of them as soon as Ru said something about them. It wasn't worth losing a cool head over, he decided.
It was instead Halvdan that brought the conversation back around to what Don considered the issue, and he wondered about what exactly the lion had done and seen in his time away from the pride. After all, it had been Don that found and brought him back, he had the right to be curious. Without having seen a sea monster himself, there wasn't much he could add to the conversation so he just nodded his head in agreement, once more turning his attention to Ru.

Ru looked around and nodded, mostly to himself. So, sea monsters first, following Halvdan's directions. He didn't know the limited nature of Halvdan's experience with the sea monster. If he had, he might not have been quite so willing to trust to his experience. Or maybe he would. Ru could take risks just like anyone else.
"All right, Halvdan. Everyone, take a quarter hour to rest, find water, food, or whatever other business you need to take care of. After that return here. Then we make for the coast. I am not waiting for late arrivals." He hopped down from his perch and went to do as he'd recommended the others do.

Thank you everyone for taking part in this RP. The next group RP for this band will take place on the coast. It will be posted when I get around to it and coordinate things with certain people.
In the meantime, you can assume the journey will take approximately two days and any adventures that happen to your lion during that time are up to you.
So, y'know. RP and stuff if you want.
