Had she not been crying so hard she'd have likely noticed the shudder that came from the delicat caress of her hand along the roughness off his cheek. His jaw line was always stubbled, and in a way Navi preferred it that way. Smoothness wouldn't have died him somehow. He was a wild card, and he always would be. Dangerous, but the type that drew you in, not repelled you.

She wasn't so besotted with him that she would forget that he'd struck her though, the age of her jaw wouldn't let her, nor the dark blossom of bruises already raising beneath her skin. If he'd wanted to scare her, then he'd succeeded. She was weary of him now, and even as he curled his arms around her to hold her against his chest she was tense.

The press of his arms did help to slow her tears, and she was quiet as he turned her head so he could catch her lips in gentle kiss. Only then did the roughness begin to leave her small frame, and just like every time before, she melted into the feel of his lips. No one, specially not them, could deny there was something real between them. Navi her self didn't understand what, but she was tired of trying to fight it.

He spoke, revealing just how scared he was himself, but despite his desire to run he'd barely moved away from her. It had pale lips pressing into a thoughtful, and she moved her head just enough to see his face. He wasn't looking at her. In fact it seemed as if he were trying to look anywhere else, and she frowned, palm sliding along the roughness of his cheek until she could catch those dark eyes with her own.

"I don't want you to, but I can't make you stay.." It seemed too sudden, and despite her words the dark senshi's fingers tensed along the side of his jaw. If he left now she didn't know where they stood or what would happen, and that thought was enough to make her chest tight.

Navi met his eyes as he finally looked down at her, but the what she saw wasn't exactly comforting. Nor was what he had to say, and it was her turn to look away as he so adequately assessed their current situation. It was ********.

But knowing that, it didn't make things any easier to deal with. If anything it made it all the harder. There was nothing normal about what they were doing, no rules or structure, nothing to use as a guideline. They were flying by the seats of their pants, and bruises on Navi's face were proof enough that they hadn't quite gotten the hang of their wings.

The tension in Navi's hand where it lay along Chaonis' jaw began to ease, and she would have moved to slide from his arms before he caught her lips in another kiss, and she melted against him. The force of his kiss and the strength in his arms pulled a gentle whimper from the DMC's throat, but it wasn't from pain. It was a helpless sort of noise, and it made it all to obvious that Navi was just as confused as he was.

The moment ended quickly though as he jerked away and rose to his feet. It left Navi half laying on the roof, and she sat up quickly, staring up at him with something very close to fear on her face. Not of him, but of what he was saying.

"Who says we can't?" The words were blurted out without much thought behind them, and she dropped her gaze at once, delicate fingers curling in the ruffled length of her double skirts. It wasn't altogether right, what they were doing, but so what?

Biting her lip, she looked up again, fresh tears rolling in hot lines down her cheeks. "It's not fair."

The more she watched him the worst she was beginning to feel. Her face already heart, but now her chest was aching, her muscles were tense, and it felt like her lungs were going to seize on her, she was breathing so quickly.

At the very least, he looked just as awful as she did, but that was really poor comfort when he apologized and began to retreat backwards.

"Fiyero.." She didn't have the heart to yell after him, as much as she wanted to, but she couldn't just stay quiet. They didn't know each other that well, so why did it feel like her heart was crumbling. It made no sense, none.

Navi watched the Senshi of Danger turn and run, her breath catching in her throat, and as he disappeared she finally allowed herself to cry in earnest, small frame shaking as she dissolved into sobs on that roof top. She stayed like that for some time, and after a little while the tears slowed and she quieted down. Only after she'd managed to get her emotions under control did she seek out a mirror to return home.

Of course once she'd crawled into bed, they came back.
