Zarike
The little kid felt a thrill of excitement as he caught eyes with Orlina. He put a finger to his lips and winked at the young girl. As he looked away from her he saw that the red head woman who had come to get them was watching him as well and he quickly stretched up tall, trying to look bigger than he was again. Hopefully none would notice that he wore no knots on his shoulders.
Zarike's eyes grew round as they entered the pits, facade forgotten. Being a Trine native he knew the area well enough but there were dragons there now! Two he didn't recognize from Trine's own ranks. Having seen silver's before the impressive Sr. Weyrling got an appreciative toothy whistle before the white was noticed. He'd thought they were just Harper's tales!
Dizzian
Basking in the warmth of Courath's affection actually kept the young woman from startling when a wounded green burst into the air above them, her rider demanding quick attention. Dizzian gave Devith a quick glance and smile before dipping her hands in redwort oil and grabbing a jar and rag. Other healers were already preparing bandages and cleaning up the spilled ichor but Dizzian knew her role today.
She couldn't help but wince at the thread scores. It was never a pretty sight and her heart bled to know this wouldn't be the only dragon wounded today, nor the worst. "You've got to go back? But the last two Fall's were so short! Shouldn't it be over soon?" Dizzian gave a quick apologetic bob to the green before rubbing her coated cloth over the green's chest wounds.

DevithWhen it came to Dizzian Devith was always a bit more tolerant then the vain silver would be for others. He stood still and allowed her to give him the quick human like peck of affection on the chin his would often give him on his nosetip. He merely greeted the gesture with a nod preening slightly under her praise. Then the injured green came out from between circling down in need of attention. Devth recognized her as the one who had risen just the other day and sent Calanoth into such a sulk. He wasn't here though to observe and when Dizzian stepped up to apply the numbweed Devith kept close step beside her stalking up to the green's side his eyes whirling. Be at ease. The two-leggers shall have you in the air again soon. How goes the fight? Devith questioned his tone while perhaps not that of a gentle healers was confident reinforcing that yes they would take care of the green and get her airborne just fine. He also hoped to draw Velath's attention away from her injuries and perhaps get word of how fall went from the injured dragon. -------------------------------------------- HekateQuick to snap to attention Hekate had always been her best in the midst of chaos and grabbing one of the bags of firestone slung it over her shoulder her muscles only straining a touch under the wait. Her vanity was struggling a lot worse as the back dust coated her clothes and skin. Still she moved taking long strides to begin loading the Sr. Weyrlings as quickly as she could. Coming back for more bags to load she spotted a few of the slimmer candidates. . .one of them the boy before and gave him a nod. "Grabs some of the empty bags if you can and get in position by the pit. As soon as we're done loading we'll need to start filling as fast as we can." She suggested worried the younger lad might tire himself out long before the fall itself was burned to a crisp and she certainly didn't want to have to pull his load when that came. ------------------------------------------------- C'rci and BolthOne of the Sr. Weyrlings being loaded was a steely striped blue, quite the fearsome looking dragon. . .or he would have been where he not pressing as flat to the ground as he could paws covering his eyes and shaking even as he was being loaded. His rider, a pale skinned woman with long red hair was attempting to drag one large paw off his head. "Bolth! Stop this! Come on we have to fly!" C'rci grumbled catching sight of one whirling red and yellow eye almost gone white with fear. She knew he felt compelled to fly. . .but Bolth was just not a fighter. He'd proved that well enough when he'd all, but kidnapped her between during the attacks on the Weyrs. Now though C'rci wasn't going to be left out. This was their duty after all! I don't want to Mine! Bolth whined low in the back of his throat even as C'rci attempted to calm him stroking his big steely nose affectionately and doing her best to stand tall despite her dragon's actions. Something that laced the blue with guilt. His rider was so ready to do what ever it took to see to the safety of Pern and he. . .well were it not for his urge to fight thread Bolth probably would have had to been dragged from his weyr by the tail. "Come on we're not going to fight. We just drop the bags and go. Easy as that." C'rci soothed the blue nuzzling her gently like a baby flit seeking reassurance as she stroked his eyeridges. Just dropping them He repeated as C'rci mounted and put her helmet on strapping herself in. "Yes just dropping." She assured him.

Eliza gave a grateful look to the healers and weyrlings who came to help Velath. "Easy Velath..you'll feel better soon" She promised the green, rubbing her eye ridges soothingly as she addressed the young womens question. "We thought it was over..but then it came on again, They are going to rotate out the blues and greens in turn..it's going to be a long fall" She stated with a slight shake of her head. "We've already lost two dragons, I'd expect more wounded soon"
Velath her eye's whirling leaned into her riders caresses and was almost started when addressed by the silver. Silvers - even young ones - rarely took interest in a green, or at least they rarely took interest in her. It was enough to turn her attention at least a little bit. 'We have lost a blue and a green, many are injured and tiring' She told the silver 'But we fight on regardless'
*****************************************************************************************
Mercy Nodded her thanks to the Candidates and Weyrlings who helped to load the young dragons, she herself went around and made sure to check the straps on each dragon. Coming to Bolth she patted the striped blue fondly, knowing him from Malvren "You'll be alright Bolth won't he Aerith?" She asked the white with a wink to C'rci.
Aerith seeing the blue's fear crooned at him soothingly 'Do not fear Bolth, you are lucky - you get to do what I can only dream of doing' Aerith told the striped dragon with a gentle nudge. 'You are Bolth, the brave and steady blue dragon of Malvren. Fly well today and all the greens of the Weyr will certainly notice your prowess' Aerith told him with a voice of confidence, hoping to bolster the blue.

Optheli and Dynith
Dynith popped in above Trine and stretched out her wings to glide down. It hadn't set it until the order to rest had come. Then she'd felt just how tired she was. Flapping was too much effort, and her few scores were making themselves known now. The green glided around to land by an empty healer table. Once her feet were on the ground, her wings sagged there too. She would almost swear her wings hurt more than the scores did.
Optheli patted the green neck soothing, as she undid her straps. She knew a short rest and numbweed would improve the green's outlook. Quickly she slid down the green side. "A bucket of water for my dragon please." She indicated a candidate standing that didn't look like he had much to do. While she went to the table to collect the numbweed supplies. Oh she was very familiar with it.
"We'll get you patched up here quickly Dynith." Optheli gestured the dragon to lay down so that she could apply the salve to the various, if thankfully minor, injuries.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wykla and Kameth
Wykla shook herself a bit to relax. At least her Wingleader wanted them back. She would be sure Kameth was rested before returning. Who knew how long this was going to go. Her eyes noted the places where the healing was taking place. Land there.
Kameth popped in and circled once before coming in to land. He was in better shape than some of the greens. A quick rest for him now and he was sure he'd last longer than they did. He backwinged gracefully by some tables. Noting to his rider the dragons he recognized. There were many hands to help this time.
As soon as his feet touched the ground, Wykla slid down. She pulled off her helm and shook her hair free. Immediantly girl and dragon were surrounded by her mob. They creeled and crooned anxiously and vied for spots. "You all SHUT UP!" Her voice rang out. "Settle there on the tables and stay outta the way." It was a bit quieter as flits found places to sit that weren't on dragon or rider. Except for two, a gold and bronze perched on her shoulders. The smell, or rather stentch of firestone almost made her gag.
I cannot wait to be cleaned Mine, -after- the salve is applied.
"Well it's going to have to wait until the Fall is over. You're going to smell as bad soon as we go out again. I'm not cleaning you twice. Healer!" The young bluerider called for someone to help her tend the blue's injuries. Nothing super bad, but he'd been hit more than she'd liked.

Dizzian
"Two already...oh Faranth." Dizzian's face fell and she shuddered. It was the danger of dragonriding though. Sure most of her turns as a Candidate had been Thread free, with no real belief that it would come back. But It had and she had still Stood, Impressing Courath when the Weyr really needed them.
She looked up to the sky, watching as a fair of green's and blues appeared overhead. At least rubbing numbweed was a quick job. She stepped aside as proper healers moved in with bandages, ready to fasten them in place. "Be careful when you go back. Please." She looked up to Eliza, eyes starting to glisten.
Zarike
Zarike nodded vigorously. "Aye Aye ma'am!" He grinned cheekily, running off in the direction she's pointed. He found the stockpile of canvas sacks and lifted as many as he could carry, the pile of bags dwarfing his small chest. As he walked back to the pit he spotted the cowering blue dragon being nudged by the white and his brows furrowed. That didn't seem right!
Zarike dropped the bags a little carelessly beside another candidate and strode straight up to the blue, bypassing the two women with the confused frown still on his face. "What's wrong with him?" His young voice piped up. "Is he hurt?"
Ailin
Ailin hadn't recieved any real direction but the current need was loading sacks of stone. He grimaced but bent and picked up one of the nearest sacks, carefully lifting it over his shoulder as he'd seen the others do. He was surprised to find it easier than he'd expected. Maybe the chores he'd been preforming as a candidate had added strength to the harper's too long frame. He didn't jog but let his stride lengthen as he approached the silver dragon and his rider. "Where do you want this?" He asked of O'thor.
Cai
Cai had been inside the tent, cleaning up cots for the inevitable injuries as candidates and volunteers prepared supplies outside. As the thunder of arriving wings heralded their first wave of casualties she ducked her head out, spotting a blue and his young rider calling out for a healer. "Coming!" She trotted over, basic supplies in red stained hands.

Devith
Ever a steady companion at Dizzian's side Devith nodded when Velath mentioned those lost the young silver's eyes whirling with sorrow. Two more he could not save. Perhaps his help here would tip the scales if only a little in the Weyr's favor. I am sure they fought well. As you fight well. The thread will pay just as dearly for our loss. Devith crooned confidently to the green though his usual commanding rumble was a touch softer with loss. Still as Dizzian moved of gently the silver lifted a paw placing it tenderly of the green's leg and then with a nod trotted off to look after his charge leaving Velath with his own blessing of sorts.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hekate
Hekate gave the younger boy a grin glad to see he was making himself useful as she helped finish loading the sacks letting the whiterider Mercy double check her work to be sure it was tied down proper. Unlike the others she paid no mind to the cowering blue. There'd be time enough. . .oh shard it all to between and back! Hekate frowned spying the pile of sacks on the ground the boy had left in favor on mother henning a dragon that was clearly taken care of well enough. Resisting the urge to rub the bridge of her nose, she didn't want black firestone dust on her face, Hekate sighed and grabbed an empty sack to begin filling it. She should have alerted N'tor, but no she had to have a soft spot for younglings and want to let the boy prove his worth. Now here she was doing twice the work.
------------------------------------
C'rci and Bolth
Bolth peaked out from under his one paw, C'rci having pulled the other off and was waiting impatiently on his back to get moving. For a moment he eyed Aerith pondering what it would be like to be a white and Aerith a blue, but his was in a hurry. I will do my best. Bolth crooned meekly still shaking with fear beneath his rider's strong legs her confidence giving him a little boost. "Don't worry another minute Bolth. You know I'll protect you." C'rci called voice level and calm from her dragons back. . .a somewhat silly statement coming from such a small woman. Still slowly Bolth furled his wings and bunched his legs getting ready for take off. Glancing down at the candidate who had wandered over C'rci flashed him a smile. "Nothing little one he's just a lover not a fighter." She called cheerfully and with that urged the blue forward into a run as they took off to deliver their precious cargo.

Optheli and Dynith
"Stretch out that wing a bit more love. I'll get some numbweed on those holes." In truth she wanted a closer look at them. They hadn't looked seriously bad, but it was hard to be sure when she was flying. Now that the wing wasn't moving though.... The greenrider tried to pat Dynith's muzzle as she walked by.
The tired green lifted her head just enough to nudge her rider. Mine. You should get yourself looked at. My wing is not bad. Yellow threaded her eyes in concern. Surely her rider's arm and leg were worse than her wing.
Optheli gave a small chuckle. "I wasn't flying on mine silly dragon. Yours won't take but a moment."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wykla and Kameth
She was relieved when a healer quickly responded to her call. There must not be many injured yet. Wykla was grateful. She stood beside her bright blue, a hand on his neck. A faint smile crossed her lips as Cai came over. "His name is Kameth. He's got some up on his neck in front of my straps and a wingtip score. I can help as you need me. And don't mind the flits, they are all mine."
Kameth rumbled in amusement as His admited to all the flits. His were minor scorings as far as he was concerned. The most he wanted was to rest, and of course some salve to stop the hurt. His eyes whirled blue-green with a slight red tint as he watched the healer.

Cetalese and Green Halith
Cetalese and the rest of the Gale Stalkers Greens appeared above Trine. She watched several spiral immediately toward the healers and had Halith set a little bit out.
Velath is already here. Other Greens from other wings are descencing.
I see them. I'll find Eliza and get a little numbweed for your Score, but we're mostly here for you to rest. Relax your wings. We'll be off again sooner than later.
Cetalese unstrapped with arms that ached and slid from Halith's back. She used quick strides to cross the distance between her dragon and the healing tables.
"I need to borrow a pot of numbweed. The Scoring on my dragon isn't bad, and I can handle it myself," Ceta insisted. She looked away from the Candidate as she went to fetch a pot and caught sight of Eliza having Velath seen to. "Eliza! Is it bad?" Ceta called out, voice carrying over some of the commotion around them.

Orlina
N'tor led the Candidates to their posts, stopping first at the first aid tables and
There was a young Silver, and there was the girl with him. Orlina hesitantly approached, but tried to straighten her shoulders once she arrived.
"Excuse me. Dizzian? I was told to tell you that the Silver's rider was on her way to the firepits with the Candidates." Orlina thought the girl likely knew that already anyway, especially since Hekate had a dragon who could communicate that, but she had said she would pass the message along and now she had. "Bluerider N'tor said to speak with the healers once I'd provided the message. Please excuse me." She smiled at Dizzian and then turned and headed back to the healers, quickly being told to wait to the side until dragons began returning. Great. Waiting.
Not that that lasted long. Suddenly several dragons appeared at once, landing for treatment. These were bad Scores, ones the riders thought their dragons needed to have tended immediately. One Green looked as if she would be out for the rest of the Fall, her body dripping ichor from several wounds. Orlina swallowed back fear and bile. She'd forgotten what Threadfall looked like in all of the upheaval of the Revolution. Those Scores were followed within half a candlemark by entire groups of Greens. It seemed, from what she overheard from a Greenrider who had gotten in just before the masses, that the wings were releasing their Greens back to the Weyr to rest. It was a long Fall.
The riders whom the healers didn't immediately get to besieged the tables for help and healing materials. The healers and some of the Candidates and younger Weyrling volunteers dove right in, but Orlina was left as one of those manning the tables. The Greenrider who requested numbweed was the first to address Orlina personally, so she quickly scurried off to grab a pot if any were available. Minor Scores would have to wait for the more serious Scores to be healed, but she was sure the rider knew that.

"We will be,as careful as we can be" She assured Dizzian with a encouraging smile. It must be hard she imagined to see all the wounded coming in during a fall
Ceta!
Eliza would be able to pick out that voice anywhere - and normally be glad to hear it, however around the healing tables during a fall was not one of those times and she whipped around to find her friend..and spotted Halith looking not to badly only a little ways off. Breathing out a sigh of relief she shook her head a bit "A fairly bad score to her chest and a minor one to her wing tip..we should be okay to go back out if we need too"
At least she hoped they would. The healers were still debating on the chest wound. It would need stitches she had already been told, but they didn't think said stitches would pull out while flying and so might be alright. "How about Halith? The rest of your wing?"
Velath crooned gratefully at the little silver as he walked off, before turning her attention to Halith and giving her a full running pity session about their combined hurts.

"A scrape, nothing more. The wing is still good. Most of us have taken some damage, but nothing serious yet. I'm sorry about your loss. I hope Velath is in flying shape and stays that way." Ceta looked down as the girl returned with a pot and a bandage.
"Thank you," she said with a smile for the girl and then looked back to Eliza. "I'll come see you if we have long enough. Let me just see to Halith."
With that she headed back toward her Green and with quick, deft movements began seeing to what Cetalese considered a scratch.
"All right now?"
I can't even feel it now. We are ready to go. You should go see Velath. There are too many for me to go to her, Halith said, breaking from her conversation with Velath for only a moment.
Cetalese applied the bandage to the wound, wrapping it around Halith's leg tightly. You're supposed to be resting anyway. Stay here. I'll go see to her.
She patted the bandage when it was done and recapped the numbweed, wiping the bit of excess left on her glove in the grass as she got to her feet. I'll be back. Let me know if Plexith calls before we're in the air again.
The ground was thick with Greens now and a smattering of Blues. Cetalese wound her way through them, passing the pot of numbweed off to a young girl threading her way through the dragons as well, clearly one of the people assisting at the first aid tables.
"Eliza." She looked up at the open wound on Velath's chest and shook her head slightly in sympathy. "That does look nasty."
They conversed for a few moments before a dragon appeared, finishing a bellow that had clearly started back in Fall. Cetalese looked up and watched as he half-fell toward the ground, clearly trying to control his descent with one wing.
"Shards," Ceta breathed as she watched him just barely cushion his landing, slamming into the ground with far more force than was healthy. Immediately, healers went running toward him if they weren't already engaged with serious Scores. From where Ceta was standing, it looked as if the dragon had taken Thread to most of his right wing. It hung limply, half-hidden from her sight by dragon bodies, but she could see the ichor from where she was standing.

Eliza nodded, grateful to hear that her wing was doing relatively well and with quiet acceptance for the comment concerning the fallen rider. She hadn't known her all that well - but they had flown together for a while now and she had always been a friendly face. Such was the life of a rider in threadfall she supposed..cynical perhaps but truthful. Turning back to Velath as Ceta went to see to Halith Eliza rubbed her nose as the numbweed set in and the green visibly relaxed.
It didn't seem very long at all before Ceta was back - which was good, it meant Halith really wasn't hurt bad at all, though she probably would have heard about it from Velath if she was. 'I feel much better now Elizamine' Velath told her 'and so does Halith'
'I'm glad, just a little bit longer and you'll be good as new again' She promised the green before turning her attention to Ceta "They're going to stitch it they say, might leave a scar but no lasting damage and she can still fly with it" Eliza told her friend as she approached, rather grateful for the news, though their conversation was cut off by the arrival of the blue "Who was it? Could you recognize them?" She asked, somewhat afraid to really know.

Optheli and Dynith
"I promise I'll get seen right after I take care of you." Optheli coaxed and cajolled the green into having her hurts seen to. She was nothing but patient and loving. Finally the wing in question was stretched out, and she got a good look. "Well, they don't look too bad. We can have a healer double check after the Fall ends, since you were flying on alright before. If anything changes with it tell me immediantly."
The greenrider smeared a generous layer of numbweed on the scores. Feel better now?
Dynith crooned with worry as Hers checked the wing. So far that had been her only scoring, though there was several close calls. Relief was immediant as the numbing salve was layered on. She would return to fight.
The green lifted her head and broadcast to the dragons. Mine needs to see a healer. Any of you have one nearby that is free?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wykla and Kameth
Wykla shifted from foot to foot. Anxious to hear the healer's report. She hoped it wouldn't be too bad. From what Kameth was telling her it wasn't.Stubborn dragon, he just wanted to fight more.
That is what dragons do Mine. He said lightly, still watching the healer. Yes the scores hurt, but it was a dull throb by now. Kameth wanted to return quickly to help relieve the burden of the Fall on the dragons already there. When he came back, another could rest.
