Oke looked about fretfully as Hypno's snapped at her - he hadn't meant to do so, she knew that - Hypno's was never cross with her..but it did make her wonder if he really thought the Coyote was going to come back and she peered into the darkness with him for several long and drawn out moments before he finally gave in and she let out a breath that she hadn't know she was holding. "I'm alright." She assured him. "It never got to me." She added just for good measure, though that initial leap had certainly been close - if Hypno's had not reacted as quickly as he had then things would have certainly wound up a little differently.
Following him over to his lamp and slightly worried about the way he was limping she collected her herb bag along the way. "It's a good thing I've been restocking as we went along the path." She told him as she shook the plants out of her bag and peering at his leg in the lantern light. "Bites are always tricky..dirty foul mouths and all that..and this once certainly did some damage but I think you'll be okay, it doesn't look like anything major was torn." Sorting through her herbs she picked out a few, unfortunately she hadn't been able to restock completely but she had the essentials and that would have to do for now. Picking up a garlic bulb she had dug up she hit it with her hoof until one of the cloves broke off, taking the smaller clove she put it in the small bark bowl she carried around and put a flat rock over it, then she beat on the rock with her front hooves until the garlic had been mashed up into a chunky, but usable paste. "This might sting a little bit." She warned him before picking up a lambs ear leaf and smearing the paste onto it, put it over the worst of the wound like a bandage. "But it will keep infection at bay." Using other leaves she quickly smeared the paste over the remaining teeth marks as well, though she didn't think those ones needed a bandage at the moment, best to let the more shallow ones air dry.

Hypnos let out a sigh of relief knowing that Oke had come out of it unharmed. He was her escort and protector and he would have done a terrible job had he let her get injured. Of course he also had feelings for Oke, so it would be even worse for him had he not reacted in time, or worse had fallen asleep and been unable to stop the attack at all. "I'm glad you were here, or else I'd have to limp back to the herd without help." Even though he felt terrible he had put her in this situation, he should had checked the grove more carefully before settling down, at least he had an experienced healer with him. Imagine if she had made this journey alone...no he couldn't think that way, Oke was safe and while his leg hurt he was reassured to hear her say it wasn't too bad.
He cringed a bit when she placed the paste on his leg. She wasn't kidding when she had said it would sting. But most things involving cuts often hurt before they helped, funny how that worked out that way. After a few moments the sting went away. Looking up at Oke he gave her a small smile. "I'm sorry that I nearly yelled at you earlier, but I had to make sure you weren't in danger anymore." It was a fifty fifty chance that the coyote would return shortly after leaving and he didn't want her hurt just because he dropped his guard the moment it disappeared into the trees. His eyes ticked down to his leg, the bleeding had stopped and the bandage felt good over the wound. "Thank you."

Oke gave the stallion a warm look "It's okay, I know you were just worried." She assured him , she had never once thought he had yelled to be cruel. Pulling back the bandage a bit she checked the wound - and it seemed to be clotting well enough, she was sure that it would swell somewhat but if he stayed off of it for the rest of the night he'd probably be able to make it back to th herd without too much trouble and then she could collect her proper stores and make sure he healed properly. Satisfied she put the bandage back on and lay down beside him. "Your welcome, it's the least I could do since you saved my life." She told him sincerely.
"But enough talking for tonight, you need to rest if we want to make it to the herd tomorrow and I'm sure you've scared the coyote away else he would have been back by now." She soothed him. "Sleep and I'll redo your bandages tomorrow before we leave." She murmured and now that the adrenaline from the event had worn off she couldn't help but yawn and feel her eyes closing drowsily again.

Hypnos smiled up at Oke. He wanted to tell her he would do it all over again a hundred times, but remained quite. Hypnos wasn't sure how to tell her how he felt and he didn't feel that this moment was the right time to tell her. Besides now that the adrenaline from the fight had faded away he was feeling exhausted. He knew it would throw off his sleep schedule but he couldn't help but feel the tug of sleep on his mind and body. Plus Oke was right, he needed to rest if they were to make the remainder of the journey back to the herd in the morning. "It won't be back." And he was certain of that. The coyote would have had to rethink his options for a meal tonight.
Lowering his head to rest on his legs Hypnos looked at Oke. "You should rest too. You've been working hard today." He let out a yawn and listened to the sound of the night forest. It was filled with the typical noises of nocturnal creatures, not quite like it had been right before the attack and good sign, but just in case he added. "Best lay close to me...just in case it does decide to return." He didn't want to take a chance of anything happening to her after the coyote's attempt, even if he doubted it would return tonight.

Oke was glad that he didn't argue with her - while she appreciated his gallant bravery she also appreciated good patients who didn't argue with her when she told them they needed to rest..and after traveling all day and then fighting off a Coyote no one could argue that Hypno's needed to sleep - even if it wasn't normal for him to do so at this time of day.
"Good idea" She agreed, shifting closer to the stallion but being careful not to bump into his leg while she did so, while she didn't say it out loud, she had to admit to herself that it was nice to be this close to him and sighing slightly she closed her eyes, laying her head across his back and falling asleep.
