Tiina Brown What powers do the Librarian have (i haven't read the new rules) ? According to the White Dwarf´s battle-report, he only has Smite psycic power (confirmation?), but I quess players could use either the new psycic disciple cards or powers from the space marine or dark angel codex. Can´t say for certain, that box is coming sale on 1st of coming month and I ain´t buying it.
Althou frankly I don´t know why anyone would want to use DA powers, other then get a nifty flamer-thrower Libby to possibly smelt some elite units or tanks. sweatdrop

Tiina Brown Of course a hobby evolves, but to me ... 40K has not only evolved. Of course, but you might want to keep in mind then, that we're not all of the same generation as you, nor that we share the classic or perhaps somewhat dated views of the hobby. wink

To correct a previous comment I made concerning the Chosen: Power mauls do not have power settings. At least not in 40k, I'm confusing it with another game. sweatdrop
Instead, the unit leader looks to sport a thunder hammer typed weapon, which is even better! emotion_drool

Painting these suckers is going to be a pain though, not looking forward to it. Instead, I'll play one of the six included scenarios. wink

Played through the scenarios twice, alternating the forces with my hubby. The first two scenarios are a bit unwanted, but the rest more than makes up for it with slowly priming you for big battles with all of the minis found in the set.

Agreed, though the first two scenarios could easily be played as a two-player affair, besides, they offer some of the basics on move-shoot-assault, especially the first one, which cleverly tries teaching you the best way to deal with vehicles, especially one that is suffering from a serious bout of roid rage. wink
To jump back to a previous comment about the power maul, while it is sadly not as lethal as an axe or sword, it is still worth taking when dealing with enemy multi-wound characters. He may have lost the duel, but he left his opponent stunned and easy to finish off when the cultists charged in. pirate

I must admit I am amazed by the new set... Chaos players must be salivating at the thought of getting cheap, expendable troops, while the Dark Angels get excellent coverage in 3 different squads of marines. Characters are icing on the cake...
