BakaTulip We went to this indian restaurant for my mom's birthday and I nearly started laughing when I saw a few items maked "A Punjabi specialty." My brother started making comments about the chandeliers in the restaurant at the point. Did y'all put your hands at the level of your eyes? mrgreen

I just turned to my dad, pointing at the Bug and said "He's more obsessed than I am!"

Punjab is following me! crying
I was just watching this documentary on population (which was sad because it showed all these women in India whose inlaws poured kerosene on them and burned them because they weren't having sons) but it went on to say that even in "Punjab: the bread basket of India" there weren't a lot of jobs.

That being said, you will all understand why I find myself intensely amused whenever I see the local advertisements for a restaurant called "A Taste of Punjab."

Utakan (spork~god) maybe im just crazy, but i seriously remember all this stuff about Punjab from the book Um... somehow that really doesn't click with me. neutral Can you try adding to the converstion instead of the random "I remember the punjab thing!"? I'm not being mean. It just bothers me that people rando-post like that here. This isn't the GD...OMG * is a harcore GDer*

I can understand the misunderstanding, if that makes any sense at all. o_o;;
Until I saw and learned about PotO, the only place I knew 'punjab' from was... the musical Annie. One of Daddy Warbuck's servants/friends is named Punjab. >>;;; (Man, I feel lame for knowing that...) He's Indian, so I guess it makes some sense, but it seems kinda stereotypical to me.

OMG I never really made that connection. I haven't seen the musical in forever. XD That's funny, actually. @ Puppy: And I used to be one too. I just got out when the chaos started.

I actually made the Annie connection the first time I read the words "Punjab lasso". I was admiring the lyric book from the OLC CD and I read Raoul: But why? Mme. Giry: Why? The Punjab lasso, Monsieur! And I thought, "Wait, isn't that the name of that one guy from Annie? O.o"

I was watching Annie some time ago and there's one place where Warbucks yells out the names of random servants and asks for them to get him certain people... Warbucks: PUNJAAAB! Me: XDDDD Warbucks: GET ME [so and so]! AND SAUNDERS, GET ME A DRINK. Me: XD as always.
