I've never used a tampon in my life. So I would say pads. It doesn't bother me when I have to change them and I don't find them uncomfortable so I don't see any reason not to use them.
Every month I tell myself I'm going to try tampons but I always chicken out or get lazy sweatdrop Guess I've heard to many horror stories.

What horror stories? If it's about the hymen, that's not what makes you a virgin (I'll save my virginity rant for later). If you do hurt yourself using one, you're using one that's too big, or doing it wrong because you're nervous or careless. (Another reason I prefer plastic applicators - eco-friendliness be damned!) Honestly, once you get used to wearing them and learn to tell when it's time to change it out, you'll be hooked. It's nowhere near as messy/smelly as wearing a pad.

No it's not about my virginity : )
I've heard about how people put them in wrong and it can be super painful or uncomfortable, and my mom left a tampon in after her period was over and forgot about it so she got a pretty bad infection and had to go to the doctor. And people say it can get stuck sometimes, I don't know, just more excuses for me not to try X_X

Ok, I have to say that what happened to your mom was just plain carelessness. How can you just forget? There's no way to put one in wrong unless it's those disgusting o.b. tampons with no applicator you use your finger to insert (EWWWW!). And even in the extremely unlikely situation that the string breaks, you can tug it out with a finger, so yeah, you're just finding excuses. cat_3nodding If you prefer pads, that's quite all right, I'll stick with the tampons. cat_4laugh

Tampons all day! They make things easier for me and thanks to the new birth control I only need to use the regulars and I can still workout at the gym without feeling extra gross.

And it wasn't the first time I'd heard of someone forgetting about a tampon, but I mean, how do you not notice there's something stuck in your body?....I don't know but it's crazy.
Yeah, maybe I'll force myself to try next month...I gotta do it one day.

Noooo, don't force yourself! That will only make it more difficult. Do it when you're ready. When you're at a point where instead of going "Umm..." you're all "Let's do this!" it will be much easier.

Pads; tampons are uncomfortable as heck and I only wear them when I'm swimming, not to mention if you leave them in too long there's some weird infection you could get

Of the two, I use pads if I have to--but generally I use softcups. Those are the only thing I can stand. I won't use Tampons because of the risk factor of infection. @_@
Edit: Also I dunno if it's because of my tilted uterus or my flow being ridiculously heavy, but tampons almost always leaked for me... I think it's the tilted uterus D:

I used to wear tampons and have a small pad on too just in case of leakage ... But now that I'm on the pill, my periods are much lighter. n - n They last for, at most, three days. I'll bleed a little heavy at first, but it gradually stops. I usually wear pads on the first and second day, when it's at its heaviest— then on the last day I'll wear a tampon and a light pad, to get all the blood that's left out. o - o Is that weird of me that I do that?!

I use tampons, and pads. I generally use pad's when I'm being lazy and not going anywhere. but when I'm busy and doing things all day then I wear a tampon. I really hate the cardboard applicators....I'm sorry earth but they just really suck..

I've never used tampons before, so pads.
With my period, my main concern was never a lot of blood [I'm not a heavy bleeder, so I still have to wear a pad for spotting 6 or so days after I start], so filling up a pad isn't a major concern for me.
My mum had to wear a tampon and pad together, so she's like, "nope, hon. Your period isn't heavy, just painful. You're safe with the pads... Don't wear a tampon if you don't have to." And I don't, so... Yeah.

➜➜➜➜ I use pads, I haven't tried tampons yet because I just never got around to using one >.< I also hear that mooncups are really good to use, because they help the environment and lots of people I know use them, they say they're very comfortable and good to use ^_^ I'll probably end up using them too at some point~
